Frisco teen found safe in Oklahoma .

 ::snipping2::

Muskogee police said there was no description of the kidnapping suspect available for release early Sunday morning.

"We were able to confirm that she was indeed the victim of a kidnapping that was reported in Frisco, Texas," Cpl. Zardeneta said. "She was taken into protective custody. Her vehicle was brought in for some forensic investigation and we contacted Frisco P.D."

Hmmm...kind of odd.  Glad she is safe, although surprised that the man exited the car to leave her able to escape with it.  What was the motive?  A ride to Oklahoma?

I am happy she is safe but this is strange.  She was left overnight in a house somewhere, then when they got underway again he left the car and she could get away, and there is no description of him.  You would think the first thing police would release would be a description so they could catch him.

Family of Friso teen found in Oklahoma speaks out

 ::snipping2::

Just before ten Saturday night, Bethany turned up more than 200 miles away in Muskogee, Oklahoma claiming she had been kidnapped.

"What she reported to us was that she was taken by the suspect at gunpoint in Texas and she was left somewhere overnight", said Corporal Pedro Zardeneta with the Muskogee Police Department.

Police say she managed to escape her alleged captor and find help.

"When she came into Muskogee at the Braum's where she pulled over. She borrowed someone's cellphone because her cellphone was out of commission and called us", Zardenta said. Other than some minor bruising, police say she appears fine. As for Bethany's story, Frisco police are not answering questions as to its validity or if they're looking for the kidnapper.They released a statement only saying their investigation is on going.

Bethany isn't talking much either, but she did post a message on her Facebook page saying "I'm home and safe. Thanks for the love an support but right now I need to be alone with my family."

Details still murky after Frisco teen returns home .

 ::snipping2::

Her family says they are very relieved she is back in Frisco, although questions are still swirling about what happened to the 18-year-old.

"It's a private issue for us," said Bethany's dad, Alan Stroud. "We just want our family to kind of circle together and help her."

 ::snipping2::

On Sunday, Frisco police refused to comment or even clarify the circumstances of the teen's disappearance, saying only they are investigating.

 ::snipping2::

Stroud said his daughter did try to call for help minutes after she disappeared. Dispatchers confirmed they received a 12-second 911 call from her cell phone, but all they could hear was static.

Stroud told investigators that her kidnapper then pulled the battery out of her phone.

 ::snipping2::

The case troubles many in Frisco, especially since the police refuse to clarify what happened, or release to even basic information — such as a description of a suspect — or if there even is a suspect.

Something is very odd.  The family say it is a private issue. Would they not want to help the general public so this does not happen to another young girl?  The kidnapper took the time to take out the cell phoen battery rather than throw the phone away or destroy the whole phone?  Seems like a kidnapper with some patience that his vicim tried to use her cell phone and felt no urgency as he had the time to pull out the battery rather than ditch the whole phone.  Police refusing to even say if there is a suspect.  What is that about?

Also, how did PD know that she might be on her way to Okl. last night?  Sounds like they know more than they said and either have a pretty good idea who took her, or knew where she was heading on her own.

Frisco Teen Returns Home
Bethany Stroud says she was kidnapped and driven to Oklahoma

 ::snipping2::

A statement from Frisco Police Sunday afternoon said detectives traveled to Muskogee to talk with Stroud but reported few other details.  "The investigation is ongoing at this time."

It did not say anything about whether there is a search for the kidnapping suspects.

When asked, Stroud's father would not talk about that either.

"She is good, good as to be expected," Alan Stroud said. "It's great. We are thrilled. We are happy she is home."

 ::snipping2::

A manager at the Muskogee store told The Dallas Morning News on Sunday that Stroud came into the store Saturday night and asked to use the phone.

"From what I understand she was pretty shaken up," said the manager who declined to give his name.

He said staff overheard her calling 911 and then police came to the store.

"We didn't know what was going on until we heard the news reports today," he said. "She didn't speak to anyone here."

Father's statement in regards to a "Personal matter" seems to say it all.  Here on the local TV station LE aren't saying a word so it looks to be she may have just taken off and has issues.

http://www.wfaa.com/news/local/Questions-surrou-139715343.html

Police said they took her into protective custody until Frisco police arrived at 2 a.m. to drive her back to her home, where she was reunited with her family.

Zardeneta said the case is now in the hands of Frisco police, and any search for a suspect is their call. The Muscogee corporal said the last he knew, Stroud had told police that she was kidnapped at gunpoint against her will and was "left somewhere in Oklahoma" before being able to escape in her own car, driving herself to Braum's where she called police.

News 8 spoke to Stroud's father at the family's Frisco home Sunday. He said his daughter has a bruised left cheek, but is otherwise okay physically. He's calling what happened a "personal matter."
