Angie that is a bummer!

Well I was to young for Woodstock, but I wish I had gone anyway.

I think the loudest concert, not the best , was Deep Purple.(in the old days  Wink ). Ya gotta love an aging rocker, or maybe not?

OH YEAH!!!!

While we're watching music videos, this just blew me away! I kept thinking about Lisa Marie. I imagined the impact of seeing my Dad in a contempory setting and it left me speechless. I love this video shown on American Idol. Celine/Elvis:

Wow,

To hear about your faves is very interesting,

The guitarists I follow are Carlos Santana (altho he uses distortion), Bob Dylan who improves every single day as he rehearses. Mark Knopfler, Neil Young (totally brilliant) and David Gilmour of Pink Floyd. I love music. It has sustained me for a lot of years.

Anyone remember Tracy Chapman singing at Wembly? She brought down the house.

The loudest concert was Dylan at the Wiltern Theater. My friend Judith who loved classical music put her hands over her ears the whole time. I didn't because I'm already half deaf and need the music as loud as possible.

No Nirvana fans huh? Well how about this one, I warn you the video is rated R maybe the song too? Anyway I saw a very funny cover of this song on Saturday Night at the Apollo. The guy singing the song was a white Clinton look-alike......whenever he was accused of being caught at something with another woman,he'd say " It wasn't me"........well I guess you have the idea.

Dear bleachedblack,

Your mentioning Joan Jett brought memories which I'm going to cross post this to the Adventures of Louise.

Around 1995, I was working for a very good company as Executive Secretary to the President and CEO. I wore business suits and minded my own business. I was hired in May and in October I learned that everyone had to wear a costume to work on Halloween. One of the biggest disappointments of my life was that I never had a suitable costume.

At that time, I had a younger man boyfriend from TN who was a luthier - guitar maker. His voice was just like Elvis. I always liked guitar players. The fact that he built guitars all the way from selecting the wood, cutting the patterns, creating the strets, spray painting in a sealed room. In addition to all the artistry of building a guitar, there is the matter of playing the guitar and making good music. So guitars are amazing things before the artist even plays a note.

So that year I said, "Sammy, what I am going to do? I need a costume and I want to appear totally different from an exec sec'y." He said don't worry, I will fix you up as Joan Jett. At his direction, I bought a black witches wig from a toy store. I ratted it up, sprayed it, ratted it up again and sprayed it until it got big and spikey.

I bought stiletto black boots, etc. He loaned me all his guitar playing paraphaneal, such as spiked bracelets, spiked things you wear over your hands and hardware to put around my boots. He also loaned me a black guitar he had made working for Gibson. He said this is the model Joan Jett used.

He said that no matter what anyone said to me, I should reply "I Love Rock N Roll."

When I walked into work that day, I saw people dressed as Friars, Brunhilda (from a Wagner opera), Pj's, Zorro, Star Wars, etc. Everyone's jaw dropped open when I walked in. Such a fuss was made over me and my work mates said now they knew the real me.

Anyway, here are some pics. I had to put on a very much more dramatic makeup to balance the black hair. It was the best Halloween of my entire life and I'm proud to post these pics.

Thanks for reading.
