This poor baby girl's feet were scalded with second degree burns!!  And then she went days without any treatment, resulting in what must have been terrible, excrutiating pain.  The skin peeled off this baby's feet and the aunt cut the skin off with scissors and sent pics to the mother!!  And the burns got infected!  And she will be permanently disfigured.    I cannot comprehend the level of cruelty inflicted on this child by her mother and aunt.

MuffyB, we just had a case here where the grandmother put a baby in scalding water in the bathtub.  Both mother and grandmother sentenced to significant jail time.  Sorry, no link.

Oh, that's so terrible Sister! Poor child. Burns are so painful.     The mother and grandmother were both involved?
Was the case where  3 yo boy was put in scalding water as punishment for a potty training accident?

UPDATED STORY 02.20.12:  A Salisbury grandmother convicted last November of placing her 3-year-old grandson in a bath tub with scalding hot water, was sentenced Friday to 45 years in prison.

Prosecutors say Joanne Gale and her 25-year-old daughter, Wynita Dale, put the child in the scalding water last June as punishment for a potty training accident; he sustained 2nd and 3rd degree burns as a result.

Dale was sentenced last month to 15 years in prison with eight years suspended.

OMG.  The punishment for these two monsters should fit the crime.  I keep thinking I've heard the very worst of human depravity and then another case hits the news.  What kind of creatures are we becoming???

Yes MuffyB, that's the one.  How horrible for this precious child.  Unfortunately, his little skins will always bear the marks these monsters made.
Thanks for finding the article.  They are both sentenced and from what I read the grandmother was primarily responsible, but the Mother was also held accountable (as it should be) because she did not seek immediate medical help.  Can you imagine the pain this child went through?
