Detectives Thursday released the confirmed identity of the woman's body found in 2008 in a trash can on Youngstown's North Side as Anita D. Smith, 44, of Rome, Ga.

Smith was found in a trash can Aug. 21, 2008, at 836 Michigan Ave.

Foley said the case languished until 2010 when Smith's family in Georgia made a missing persons report to police over the phone.

Milstead said lab workers wanted DNA from a brother and a sister, but Smith's brother was not cooperative so lab workers used the sister's DNA.
You've been told that there is a chance that a body found in a trash can is your missing sister and you refuse to give a DNA sample.  I can only think of one reason why.

I know it happens in families, but it is so hard for me to comprehend losing track of my brother or sisters.  I am happy for those who loved her she has been identified.
