Family, deputies search Santa Clara County for missing teen

KTVU.com

SANTA CLARA COUNTY, Calif. —

The search is on for a 15-year-old girl who went missing Friday from her Morgan Hill home.

Sierra Lamar was last seen by her family early Friday morning as she she left her home at Palm and Dougherty avenues for school.

Marlene Lamar, the teen's mother, said she talked to her daughter Friday morning and said goodbye and told her she loved her. Her daughter left the house around 6 a.m.

Sierra never showed up for school Friday.

Lamar didn’t realize this until she received an email from Sobrato High School notifying her of her daughter's absence.

ARUBA: It's all about Natalee...we won't give up!

I've been reading her twitter page...

omg

So many things made me cringe, maybe I'm just old fashioned.

But there's talk about drugs for sure among other things that imo could be cause for concern.

If I were her parent, she's missing, and I read all that...I'd be extremely worried; and wondering where to even start!  Wonder if anyone was paying attention to the things she's been posting.

I hope they find her, and she's safe!

All day Saturday search teams probed the creeks and fields near the Lamar home and scanned for clues from above in the Santa Clara County Sheriff's Department helicopter.

"We've flown most of these fields, as far as the eye can see in this direction, all the way up to the foothills on the west side as well," said San Jose Sheriff Sgt. Brett Moore.

Working off her scent, police dogs have traced Sierra's half mile long walk to her bus stop, but the trail goes cold beyond her driveway, suggesting she was picked up.

Investigators are mining her laptop for recent contacts.

Exactly.  In this case almost anything is possible.  I really hope she ran away but I don't think that will turn out to be the case.

Sierra Lamar Search Enters Third Day in Morgan Hill
Sierra Lamar's Morgan Hill parents said they are desperate for any news.

Sunday, Mar 18, 2012  |  Updated 11:14 AM PDT

he Santa Clara Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing Morgan Hill teenager who was last seen leaving for school Friday morning.

The family of Sierra Lamar, 15, told authorities that she did not show up for school Friday and did not return to her home in unincorporated Morgan Hill near Palm and Dougherty avenues.

She has not been seen since.

Her mother said all of Sierra's friends say they have no idea what could have happened to her. She said her daughter left behind her cell phone charger and when she calls her cell phone, it goes straight to voice mail.

I've read through her Tweets too and yes, an adult should have looked at them but they weren't as bad as they could be though.  She seems well versed in weed, pills and alcohol or she could be acting, I dunno. Now a days if they're talking the talk they are usually walking the walk.  Very pretty girl and I do hope she just ran away!

In this article it states she usually catches the bus before dawn!  I have often thought before dawn pick ups were so unsafe.  Wonder if she is the only rider at this stop.  I don't know her parents working status but I have never ever let my child wait for a bus alone nor get off without his Dad, me or the sitter when younger! There are cases where it has to be done but today their is no safe place for a child.  I only hope they are able to ping her phone some.

I tend to agree with Klaas. It would appear she was following her normal routine, one that a predator could have easily followed.

From reading her Twitter posts earlier, I think Fremont is where she used to live.

Her posts said she'd moved from there to Morgan Hill this school year.

Oh no!  That doesn't sound good.  Hopefully, she ditched herself...but doesn't sound likely.  If she use to live there then maybe she left with someone that she knows...
