I oppose the commutation of the Libby sentence.Scooter knew what he did,and really he was sentenced, for much the same as Martha Stewart. You can not lie under oath.

Tiger, thanks for jumping onto this issue before I had a chance to do so.

Scootie was convicted and sentenced and Bush communicated his sentence. Corruption abounds.

I meant commuted as opposed to communicated. There are rampant rumours of a pardon.

Tiger - Libby and Stewart are not comparable. Libby was part of the government and Martha was not. She is a business woman. Scooter Libby was Vice President Dick Cheney's former chief of staff and he was convicted on charges of lying to government.

Thanks for your consideration.

Well what about all of the pardons that Clinton did?  Scooter Libby doesn't even for one second compare.  I personally don't believe for half a second that he outed anyone......

Tyler asked me to post this and I agree..

http://www.*******.com/node/44023
also she says
Clinton handed 456 pardons during his administration and Bush did not give Scooter a pardon, just a commutation of his sentence.

and...Clinton pardoned terrorists set off bombs in  New York.

I don't like the pardons by Clinton either.I think if convicted,go to jail.Libby was convicted of the same crime as Martha.I despise the fact that Rove got off,by Nixon's pardon, and Libby gets off now.The Clinton pardons are despicable, sorry for the spelling.

Clinton actually gave out 160 pardons in the last days he was in office, a ridiculous amount unheard of prior or since........one more reason not to elect Hillary !!

Spooky, thank you for brining that in here from Tyler, she is so wise and I miss her greatly.

None, Bill did his pardoning the day the left office... very telling.  Marc Rich was probably one of the worst, but yes he pardoned those that very much want to see the country destroyed.  Libby doesn't remotely compare... but, hell Bill lied under oath and he didn't spend anytime in jail....
