Yikes how is this Monkey suppose to sleep when we keep getting these thunder and lightning storms come thru at 4 in the morning. With the kaboom and lightning flashing every few seconds.    Got rain again.  I am hoping it's done for now.

Hope everyone has a Good Friday.
I know you love storms and so do I, but in the middle of the night, not so much.  Hope everyone is ok.
Taking Connie to a foot doctor today.  She is in extreme pain and says it's not her brace.  I just don't know.  Maybe they can figure something out.
Hope everyone has a blessed day.

Sister prayers for Connie and you. Hope the foot doctor can figure out what is causing her to have so much pain

Yep the middle of the night storms aren't so wonderful when you are trying to sleep.  Hope you have a good day. How are you feeling?

Hey everybody.....
Life is good.  Had some blood work done due to fatigue...everything is good except my vitamin D is extremely low and I have to take masses of vitamin D including a prescription for it...but it is fixable so that is great! Probably why I have been feeling tired and crappy....not anemic anymore so that is good..I thank you God..

Hope you are feeling better.

I am doing fantastic.. Thank u for taking the time to read my post and to reply..

Two years ago today I met JSM in person for the 1st time.

Did you meet her in-person or in-monkey?

Prayers for all monkeys in need.

My folks are visiting us for the 1st time.  Should arrive around 4:30-5:00 - driving in from Hot Springs Village, Arkansas.  Ya think JSM would appreciate it if I were to leave a bunch of dirty dishes in the sink and empty beer bottles on the counter - too make my mother feel needed?

Please send your Mom to my house.  I promise to make her feel VERY needed!

Hi all. Yesterday one of our very best friends died from a massive heart attack. He leaves behind a wife and 4 kids and many friends. Things will never be the same.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We are gutted.
Visitation and funeral Thursday and Friday.  She is going to need a lot of love and support to get through this.
Then a really good friend of mine called me and told me that her son had committed suicide on Saturday morning. He had been shot by some thugs in the neck a few years ago and has been paralyzed from the chest down. In lots of pain, depressed etc...she and I agreed that we are sad for losing him but happy that he is out of his misery. He lived with it longer than a lot of people would be able to. His legs had to be amputated a while back because of deterioration...horrible bed sores...he suffered every single day...RIP ....Finally out of your misery...

They never caught the guys who did it..random gang bangers...shot him after forcing him into their car, then threw him out in the middle of the road like garbage...after they shot him..
Nice huh? They probably went on to do other crimes to people with no remorse...
Sorry for the long post but you all are good listeners! Love ya!

Oh Cookie- I feel your pain with the suicide... We have experienced that recently with  some one in our lives...one of the many lemons I have in my bucket. A totally different scenario though.  Dealing with loss is hard and then dealing with loss and helping your children through it is another lemon. I am going to count my blessings after my prayers and they include all the monkeys tonight.

cookie, it sounds like you are a wonderful friend.  You've got lots of people who know that you love them and they are comfortable with calling you in their times of need.  May God grant you the strength to minister to your hurting friends.  (hugs)

I am so sorry to hear he was in so much pain, both physical and mental.  I don't know what is the matter with people that they would just randomly take someone and shoot them and throw them in the street.  It is beyond comprehension.

I do not know why, in this day and age, we cannot control/manage someone's pain better than we do.  There are so many people that abuse drugs that the manufacturers stop manufacturing certain pain meds so they do not get in the wrong hands.  What about the meds that were in the right hands?  Why should those people suffer because of the abusers?  There has got to be a way to be able to manage someone's pain that they can have a better quality of life.  Why can't they do this?

I know people who are in an ungodly amount of pain.  Their moods have changed because of it, their personalities have completely changed, too.  Their pain is completely in control of what they say, think, and do.  It breaks my heart to watch this day after day, especially the people who have 'invisible disabilities.'  Those are people whose bodies are racked with pain who have cancer, arthritis, and/or any kind of pain syndrome that is out of control, but you cannot see any marks, lesions, missing limbs, etc.  You see people on the street who are walking slowly (Heaven forbid the person behind them are in a hurry, the person with pain gets called all kinds of names, as if they do not have the right to be there).

We have changed the names to make them look less like people.  At one time they were patients, then clients, and now items.  We call people--items, this way it depersonalizes people and makes them look less than human.  I am not sure what the answer is, but I know, as a country with the medical community we have, we can do a lot better.

One final thing that burns me up is those people who hold onto the Handicapped license plate or other tags after their loved one has passed and continue to use it, without guilt, while there are those who really need the space whose day could be totally ruined from the pain of those extra steps.  I mentioned this in another post a while back.

Cookie, I can understand your relief at him being out of his misery.  I am so sorry, that we, as a society, have failed him in the treatment of his pain.  I know we, as a leader in medication, can do better.  One of my son's educators had an uncle who also committed suicide because he was in so much pain, he did not want his family to go through watching him in so much pain, and he could no longer hold back the screams he needed to release.  Why, oh why, isn't there something we can do to help these children, men, and women who so desperately need relief.  Depression is the result of having to deal with the pain and agony for too long.

God bless all of you who are suffering from pain today.  I know there are a lot here at Scared Monkeys, too.  I have been able to talk to them late at night when others are asleep.  Why don't we, as consumers, stand up for those  who are in so much pain and in such dire need of relief?  Just because you can't see something, doesn't mean it's not there.

I remember Victoria Principal speaking of the arthritis that tore through her family and how she pleaded for a cure.  Even if you have a lot of money, it does not help you to get relief from devastating pain.  Why couldn't we, as a society get this man some relief from his suffering?  We failed him and failed him miserably.

Please tell your friend how very sorry I am that we have let him down and could not have gotten her son some more relief for his suffering.
