ok. 411 on my dates.
My friend Dennis and I have decided to try taking our relationship to the next level, hence the dates.
It is very difficult to be a pastor and to date as well, because I live in a fish bowl from the adults and a microscope from the kids.  Do I live what I preach?  It ain't easy.  Friday night I saw 4 parishioners where we were dining.  Aaarrgh!
Dennis and I have been hanging out together for several years, but we have decided to see if we should move upward with our relationship or move on.  My problem and his too, we are very set in our ways.  When you're friends, those ways don't interfer much, but moving upward is a whole other matter.  I'm not sure at all that I want to get married and that certainly puts a damper on things.  I did accept a beautiful diamond ring from him as a "friendship" ring, but not as an engagement ring.  I will probably be a preacher for one or two more years before I retire, so I am very conflicted right now.  Additionally, as all of you know, my plate is already overflowing.  Relationships, to work, take time and effort IMO.  Just don't know.
Anyway, going on an afternoon date on Wednesday.  Taking time to make time and we will just see where it goes.
P.S.  He treats me very well and helps me with my family when I ask, so that is a big plus.
Sister, you have EVERY right to have a life away from church. You are a pastor not a Priest or Nun that took vows not to marry or date, so go with your heart and the values of your church. If he treats you right and helps you deal with all that is on your plate, JSM wants you to pray and I will too that you reach the right decision. Take your time and see where it goes. He sounds like a great guy! Don't be conflicted, PRAY and PRAY a lot, you will have your answer. Believe me, that is how I got goof CC years later.  an angelic monkey I hope this makes sense, we all love you and want you happy.
JSM, I hear what you are saying.  I did take a vow of celibacy in singleness and fidelity in marriage.  I will take my time and I will pray and thank you for yours.
Took George back to the doctor yesterday and it is malignant cancer of the paratoid nerve in his face.  The tumor is in front of his ear but affects his eye, facial nerves, and mouth.  It's like the side of his face has slide down, and he can't even shut his right eye at all.  Still pushing hard to get him to Hopkins as for this surgery they are the best.
The funeral is Wednesday and looks to be a big one.  Her husband was a judge and also at one time the attorney general for the state.
Have a doctor's appointment for some more biopsies for lumps in my breasts.  Good gravy, it never ends.
But, George is not in pain and for that I am thankful . . . many things could be so much worse so I am blessed even in times of trials.

You are all in my prayers.

Prayers to all monkeys in need.   an angelic monkey

Sister - sorry you and other monkey's can't make it for the meet-up.

Chi-Monkey - glad to hear you're coming!!!

Brandi - cool avatar for TBM

Klaas/Muffy/Bearly - I get to be the moderator at the pool party!!!     If monkeys get out of order I'll toss them in the deep end of the pool.

Is this the most ever monkey meet-up, with 6 of us?

The menu consists of the following:

- Texas bbq sliced beef brisket
- marinated chichen breasts
- barbecue beans
- cole slaw
- potato sald
- rolls with relish tray
- peach cobbler

I'll take pics but must get monkey permission to post any.

I do believe 6 is a record or at least ties.  Could be 6 have been at some of the travel shows for the Natalee Holloway case.

FYI - Told Red about JSM and CC hooking up and he cracked up and said he should start www.monkeymatch.com  Monkey Devil!

Flutter - all are invited.  Had no idea who lives out in D/FW area or any others whom travels might take them close to the area.  JSM is trying to log in, but if she screws up again Klaas can forward you her email.  GE/Babs/TBM/Chi/Flutter/TBM/CC at a meet-up should be casually cool.      BBQ/Party this Friday at around 1-1:30, as I have caterers coming in.  All, Please let us know.

CC - Thanks for the invite.  I was hoping it was later this summer -- I am having a cervical disk fusion tomorrow.  But I want pictures!  I live about an 1 or so south and west from Fort Worth.   Maybe next time, though.  Would love to put faces and names together

Prayers for you!

Bearly and all,
Thank you for your prayers.  I'm the go between with the opthamologist and the otologist -- to surture or not surture George's eye shut.  One is afraid he will lose his vision and that is his good eye -- sees double out of the left eye.  What to do?  The appointment at Hopkins is the 31st and the surgery is scheduled for August 3rd.

Funeral went well, even in 110 degree heat index.

Had biopsies done on the sisters Tuesday -- feeling confident all will be well.

Wish I was headed to Texas.

I am glad to hear you got George into Hopkins for his surgery. Why do they want to suture George's eye closed if I my ask?

Glad you made it thru the funeral with a heat index of 110.

Prayers your biopsies come back okay.

Wish you were coming to Texas too.

Have a wonderful day and try and get some rest after all you have been doing. an angelic monkey

You are amazing and in my prayers.  Thank God for people like you!

I wish I was headed to Texas, also, but my calling is with my parents right now.  It is my turn to take care of my Dad, he always took care of us.  My Mom has always needed a lot of care from both of us, and with my Dad not able to do it, I am taking on his share, too.  I love them both.

He has a malignant parotid tumor which is causing one side of his face to sag.  It is the nerve located right outside the ear, on the face, which controls the nerves/muscles on that side of the face.  Think of a chicken foot with the toes being the muscles.  He cannot shut his eye, thus it stays open constantly and they are afraid of infection and loss of eye sight.  His mouth on that side is down to the bottom of the face, along the bone.  The forehead is fine, because that is controlled by another set of nerves/muscles.
Thank you so much for your prayers.

Bearly, I know about that which you say.  Doing the right thing isn't always easy, but it is the right thing to do.
Blessings to you dear one.

Praying for flutter and her successful surgery and healing.

It's been crazy here Brandi Granddaughter and friends found a baby kitty in one of their garages in the wall. So guess where they brought it. The poor little thing couldn't have been more than 3 weeks old. Feeding him every couple hours. You would think he hadn't eaten in days. Then having to figure out how to get him to go potty. It's been so fun.  Happy to say he is doing well. Walking around after I feed him.  Babs says he is going to spoiled big time.    I haven't had much time to do much of any thing. But feed the baby kitty.

I figured it was because of the tumor and the eye wouldn't close.  I can understand them wanting to keep the eye closed. I pray the doctors make the right decision for Dennis. How you feeling?
