Bearly and all,
Thank you for your prayers.  I'm the go between with the opthamologist and the otologist -- to surture or not surture George's eye shut.  One is afraid he will lose his vision and that is his good eye -- sees double out of the left eye.  What to do?  The appointment at Hopkins is the 31st and the surgery is scheduled for August 3rd.

Funeral went well, even in 110 degree heat index.

Had biopsies done on the sisters Tuesday -- feeling confident all will be well.

Wish I was headed to Texas.

You are amazing and in my prayers.  Thank God for people like you!

I wish I was headed to Texas, also, but my calling is with my parents right now.  It is my turn to take care of my Dad, he always took care of us.  My Mom has always needed a lot of care from both of us, and with my Dad not able to do it, I am taking on his share, too.  I love them both.

 an angelic monkey

I You Bearly, you have been through so much, God bless you. If you EVER need any help, I am at the ready. Just give me a week or two to get a ticket and I am there ASAP.

Thanks, JSM!  You have plenty on your own plate.

We could use some prayers, Dad may be going to the hospital if he does not get any better and Mom needed oral surgery which was a bit rough.  She is still bleeding after 3 days.

 an angelic monkey

an angelic monkey You are all in my prayers Bearly. Is your mom on an antocoagulant? Could be the reason of bleeding. Not a nurse or doctor, just remember my Grandmother having that problem.

Love ya Sweetie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No anticoagulants, in my family, our teeth are embedded in our jaw.

Just got back from Baltimore.  Long story and too tired to write it now.
Many thanks to all for your prayers and yes JSM you may put be on the prayer list -- I need all the help I can get as I am overwhelmed.  Yet  I know God is faithful.

Good morning.

Headed to Mom's this morning to meet with my siblings.  Thank goodness Mother had given to each of us the things she wanted us to have several years ago.  This will make it much easier, I guess.
Blessings to all.

I believe I'm living in a weather warp. The tiger lilies that bloom in spring are in bloom again, the pear tree is bearing fruit again and the poplars that turn yellow and start dropping leaves in mid August are bright green still.  Anyone else in this warp with me ?

Sister hang in there...prayers for you and yours.  an angelic monkey

Good morning.

Preached yesterday for the first time in several weeks.  It felt good to be back doing what I am ordained to do, but it was highly emotional for me and the congregation, yet filled with much love.
Taking George to the oncologist tomorrow in Baltimore, think we will be making the big decision then.  Because of his limited cognitive skills, he really doesn't understand the side effects of radiation and chemo -- he only understands how he feels today.  I just don't think he is strong enough to endure and I am a believer in quality of life.
Things were still very emotional at Mom's on Saturday as dismantling her home is very painful.  Connie cried all the way home.  I know God is faithful with His mercy and I pray for it each day.
Hate to come on here with depressing news all the time, but you folks provide me a safe place to fall and I deeply appreciate it.
Blessings.

Prayers and thoughts for you, Sister, today as you make the journey to Baltimore.  I am sure you will make the best decision for George.  Some of the best advice given to me and my sibs, when having to make difficult decisions for my Mom, is to make an informed decision and implement it.  Don't look back and don't second guess yourself.  It is the right decision at the time.  That has helped us with the challenges we face with my Mom.

You are our angel, Sister, here in monkey land. You teach us compassion and forgiveness each time you post.  Your words are most welcome be me, each and every time you post.  Iam glad you can share your burdens with us - sharing of burdens is something I have not truly learned to do, and I know it is healthy to do that.  It is harder for some of us than others.

I always look forward to your posts...

Good morning!

Still a little tired after the long trip yesterday, nothing that more sleep won't fix.
The bottom line on George is he has a rare cancer of the parotid gland and the salivary glands that was also in the neck lymph nodes.  The radiation and chemo is also very rare in the methods they (Hopkins) will use.  Too much one way or the other can have devastating effects.  Unfortunately, there is no way I can take him to Hopkins 5 days a week for 6 weeks.  Even if I can find a place to stay/rent, someone must be with him the entire time.  I am in the prayer mode about this as "I" can't see how to make this work.
I appreciate so much everyone's kind words and the words of encouragement.
It is so humid here that it feels 20 degrees hotter than it really is.  I don't mind the heat, but the humidity is terrible.
Blessings.
