Good morning sister.  How is Mr. J?
Good morning can and everyone,
Mr. Jenkins is doing good and keeping me happy.  Will be taking him home tomorrow.  He is so good and wonderful my spirit.  Brushing him calms my soul.
Going to be going through some of Mom's things today that I brought home. Some to keep and some to give away.  I have oved on to the next point of grieving since her house has been cleaned out.

I returned home yesterday to some good news.  SIL called and spoke w/hubs.
She was able to delay my brothers homecoming until Monday and in the meantime his head has cleared, he has an appetite and is using the walker properly.  She will have home care and nursing assistance and hubs said she sounds very positive and upbeat.

Good morning to all monkeys.  Hope you are having a great weekend.  Good to see GE -- I know how addicting genealogy can be.  I spent one summer working on my elusive father's side of the family.  I haven't done much with it since, though.

Wonderful news from Can regarding her brother.  I will continue to remember him in my prayers.  Hugs and love to the rest of you and please forgive me if I haven't mentioned specific needs.

We (i.e. I)  adopted two mustangs from the BLM event that was held near us last week.  One, a yearling, has had a lot of work put into him by a trainer's son and he has been shown in several mustang shows.  The other is older and has been "gentled" by the trainer.  He will be ready to start saddle training soon.  I don't think I will be able to do that myself (too old, too fat, and too busy), so we will continue to mess with him and think about sending him to a trainer next spring.

Thanks, 4Donks.  I have always loved horses and grew up riding.  Over the years, when conditions permitted, I have had horses and ponies for kids and grands.  My grands are getting too big for ponies, so I decided the BLM adoption was a good option.  The two I adopted are definitely not "wild" but they need a lot of work to get them to where they will be able to be ridden.  I want the grands to go through the process of training a horse so they would appreciate the work and bond with the horse.  I didn't just want to give them a horse fully trained and say, here you go!  I guess it is somewhat like teaching a kid how to change the oil and fix a flat on a car.

I have seen some of the negative publicity on the BLM's management of the herds, and while I don't condone all of their methods, I found the people at the event very knowledge and extremely interested in seeing the horses well matched with the prospective owners needs/wants.  They had about 5 donks, and I am sorry to say that I don't think any were adopted.  A friend of mine adopted a donkey about 2 years ago and the donk and owners are very happy together!

hi all....I am in Las Vegas losing money lol...

Can...how is your brother?

hi to everyone and hoping that all is going well for you...

Molly is back to normal...we are very lucky...

morning cookie.  are you still in Vegas?  Though I haven't been there in years, it's such a fun place to be!
Glad Molly is back to normal.

Thanks for asking about my brother.  He still has this damnable infection. They didn't get him out of bed for days, due to the heavy drainage, (which would loosen the adhesive on the appliance).  Wednesday they got him out of bed and sat him in a chair.   His GP suggested he might send him home on Friday.  The doctor said he'd like to see him walk and when the nurse brought walker he was confused as to where to put his hands.  He released the brake and the doctor said, "C'mon Gary, think man, think!", which rattled my brother.  My SIL is furious as she feels he is nowhere ready to come home and is advocating to keep him in the hospital or alternately, rehab.  My brother is lucid sometimes, confused at other times.  Unsure why.  He no longer requires morphine when packing the two wounds, so that is an improvement I guess.  Hoping his head will clear now that he is off the morphine.  Not sure if the tylenol 3 causes confusion.

Tylenol 3 contains codeine -- not as strong as morphine but can still cause confusion in some people.  I hate to see the docs/hospital in a hurry to discharge your brother, too.  Have they considered sending him to a rehab until he becomes more ambulatory and lucid?

flutter1 that's great. I  admire you for adopting from BLM. One of the neighbors down the road does animal rescue. Some of the horses are in bad shape when he gets them. But with lots of TLC and proper care they all so far have ended up looking wonderful.

The ones that come to the adoption have usually been off the range for awhile and have been wormed and fattened up.  The older gelding that we adopted is actually a little on the rotund side.  I just think it is a program that not enough people have the facilities and time for.  If my guys only end up being big pets for me, that is okay.
