Was offered the auditor position with the Dept. of Defense.  Should be starting in next 4-8 weeks once background and security clearance is done,

CC.  I am so happy for you and the DoD is lucky to have you.  I am a DFW Monkey and love Ft. Worth and think you will be very happy there.  Always thought Karma was at work bringing you here to join JSM.

Hi Brandi Every time I see your Brandi I just want to hug her.

Hi GE!

Thanks, she is a nice dog.

I was so sorry to hear about your banking woes.

Even did a bit of research about it, but could not come up with any real good links to offer you.

Hope it all gets straightened out real fast and without much hassle to you.

Thank You Brandi. Got the card cancelled and went to the bank today and got a new temporary card to use until they send me one. The bank replaced the money, I think I got all my accounts up dated put one. Have to call them tomorrow.  I guess I should be glad they didn't wipe out my account.

Brandi is adorable like Muffy said she looks so soft and cuddly.

Congrats, CC! Too little time to post, but I've been peeking in every now and then to see how the job search was going. SO glad you're home with JSM (hey Jsm!) and now employed. You can only enjoy being a "kept man" for so long, right?  Monkey Devil!

Decision time -

Besides being offered the position with the DoD, I received a request for an interview with the city of Fort Worth for next week.  You know you are getting old when you start thinking about retirement and the options available.

For instance, if I'm offered the position with FW, for about the same pay as DoD, FW has a pension plan that you become vested in after 5 years.  I plan to work another 10 years so I must do calculations on which job would benefit paying in for 19 years me the most in retirement.

DoD does not really have much of a pension plan, as they take out of your pay for social security whereas FW does not take out for SS.  I have earned my pension with the city of Chicago already and know how much annually I'll receive from them and I know what I'll receive from SS annually based upon what I have already paid in for 19 years before I worked for the city of Chicago.  I've calculated my estimated pension if I take the FW job for 10 years, now I must estimate how much my SS annual benefits will be if I take the DoD job for 10 years.  This is too much like work!!!!

Thanking everyone for prayers.  I am home for the night.
Was suppose to stay with my Mom but she was taken to the emergency room Tuesday morning with breathing difficulties.
Recovery is a little more difficult than anticipated because of stitches.  Ouch!
Have been staying with my friend Dennis -- he is a good nurse.  But needed to come home at least for the night.
Headed for bed.
Blessings.

CC,  Does seem like work, but how nice to have the problem.  I do hope you will factor in whether one job is more likely to be pleasant or even enjoyable.    Almost as important is the health insurance, as I am sure you realize.   Anyway, I'm glad you have choices.

Wow, that thunder and lightning was bad.  Rain is always appreciated, but i am thankful about no hail or tornados.  I am not far from the "Flying J" where trucks really flew last time!  Hope other monikeys avoided damage.

They really did go flying around last time didn't they. My family called when they saw it on the news. I hope no one had any damage either. I know there was some damage from wind way up north. That's two mornings in a row all the noise and lightning woke me up.

chi-monkey ... always good to see you!

Sister, sorry about your mother, but am glad to hear from you, and that you are on the mend. I certainly wish you a speedy recovery.

I agree with chi-monkey concerning your "problem," CC. It's a good problem to have.

'Morning GE and all you other monkeys! Hope everyone's day is going well.

I cannot believe it, but I have a tomato in my garden turning red. (We don't usually expect the first ripe tomato in our area until July 4.) And so far, the squirrels have not decided they like the taste of tomatoes. So all is good for me!

The two jobs calculations done for retirement purposes.  I've tentatively decided on DoD for the fact that you can contribute 5% of your salary to their savings plan and DoD will match it 100%.

Chi-monkey, where abouts in FW do you live?  You can pick me up at the TRE in FW in the morning and drive me to the office.

Happy Memorial Day, Bless the troops that have protected us years ago and the ones protecting us now.

Sister, you have been in my prayers and I pray it all goes well with your procedure.

Bearly, I pray you can be able to use the lift.  an angelic monkey

Trimm been praying all works out!!! Looking forward to the new pup

I am so tired, golf all weekend, and skating. Thankfully CC has been such a great person to take care of the dogs, me and showing me how to aim the ball. He did a really good job at golf today. I am very blessed

Prayers hugs and loves!!!!!

JSM Patton, CC and Ruby.

Don't know how the two of you manage out on the golf course in this heat!  Going from that nice cool ice rink, imagine you are wiped out.

I made it onto the front porch to water at noon and thought I was going to burn up  --- hoping these storms make it over us, my beautiful lawn is turning brown already.....

GE has outside projects on the agenda, shes gonna need the garden hose out to spray us down  --- can you see us two old 63 year olds having a water fight?

Looks like my projects going to have to wait a few days. As someone hacked my bank account.    Did the freeze the card  and went thru the fraud thing. They are putting the money back. It just ticks me off.  4 different times to someone in China. Have to go to the bank tomorrow and get a new card as I have automatic with drawls for paying bills. That will come due the first. GRRRR. Hubs is having fits. Going back to cash only etc.

Hope every ones having a good night.

Oh no!  How awful!  I am so sorry, GE!

Good morning everyone!

Progress on Miss Molly Mocha....doing a lot better...the nipping, biting has all stopped...she is almost 5 months old now. She is turning into a lovely pet....
She is going to be a big lug...she already weighs over 40 lbs...she is a swiper...can put her paws on the countertop and swipe whatever is on the edge...she does listen though when we tell her to get down...
