Wow! Thank you sweet monkeys for the support. It has been a rough few days around here.

I am leaving for the lake on Monday taking 3 oldest grands with me...9-6-almost 4. Wish me luck that I still have my sanity after that ride lol...making memories....  Hubs is coming down on Wednesday with maniac Molly. Then our Texas kids and the Texas grands will arrive on Saturday . The parents of the 3 grands and the 2 year old will get down on Friday night. there will be 18 of us....

It is going to be bittersweet because our friend who just passed away and his family won't be at the lake for the 4th of July...I really don't want to go to the lake but all the kids love our 4th of July gathering and we can't let them down.. We have lots of friends at the lake. That will help a lot. They all are in pain for our friend too. And this too shall pass....all the ruckus with 8 grand kids all together will help us get our mind off of things.

Thanks for being there!

Bearly, 'J' suffered from pain and depression because of what happened to him....he is in a much better place now....mom is sad but relieved for him.
Thank you for your lovely post.

Caddy, KittMom, and Bearly, you have expressed so well what I have been thinking too.  Cookie, I know you will be strong support for your friends.  You are a good person.

The suicides to be relieved of pain -- words are hard to find.  I am concerned for Connie too at this point.  The poditrist found nothing wrong with her bones and we got an appointment same day with the neurologist.  Apparently her nerve endings are registering any touch (both arm and leg) as pain.  There is a word for this but I forgot.  She is in extreme pain.  He will be doing a test to make sure nothing is wrong with the nerves themselves, but he believes the damage from the stroke in her brain is now registering every touch as pain.  She just cries and cries.
Bearly, you are right -- there are some people who have no one to advocate for them.  I see it every day as well.  I think when I retire that's what I am going to do -- be an advocate for people.  Not sure at this point how that will take shape, but God has it all worked out if it is His will.

Prayers to all and bless you for continuing to keep my family in prayer as well.

Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. We are gutted.
Visitation and funeral Thursday and Friday.  She is going to need a lot of love and support to get through this.
Then a really good friend of mine called me and told me that her son had committed suicide on Saturday morning. He had been shot by some thugs in the neck a few years ago and has been paralyzed from the chest down. In lots of pain, depressed etc...she and I agreed that we are sad for losing him but happy that he is out of his misery. He lived with it longer than a lot of people would be able to. His legs had to be amputated a while back because of deterioration...horrible bed sores...he suffered every single day...RIP ....Finally out of your misery...

They never caught the guys who did it..random gang bangers...shot him after forcing him into their car, then threw him out in the middle of the road like garbage...after they shot him..
Nice huh? They probably went on to do other crimes to people with no remorse...
Sorry for the long post but you all are good listeners! Love ya!
Oh Cookie- I feel your pain with the suicide... We have experienced that recently with  some one in our lives...one of the many lemons I have in my bucket. A totally different scenario though.  Dealing with loss is hard and then dealing with loss and helping your children through it is another lemon. I am going to count my blessings after my prayers and they include all the monkeys tonight.

Caddy  I am sorry to hear you have had that experience added to your basket of lemons. It's a hard one to deal with. All I can say is to take it one day at a time. Continued prayers for you and your family.  an angelic monkey

Sister  I am so sorry to hear about Connie having so much pain and they can't find a reason for it besides the stroke causing the short circuit so to speak. Way back in the far recesses of my old brain I remember watching something on one of the  learning channels about this and them using some kind of Bio feed back to help relieve some of the pain. I know it was years ago and that's all I can remember. Continued Prayers for you and Connie. an angelic monkey

How true Cookie.  I have a lot of experience, don't I?  I know your weekend will be bittersweet but your family and the grands will make it all bearable.
On a different note, I had Mr. Jenkins for the weekend and took him back to Connie yesterday.  Had given him a bath and he looked so good. What did the angel do, roll in duck poop so now I have him back to give him another bath.

On a sadder note, George's mother passed away in her sleep Monday night.  So another funeral.  George is doing ok.  As I may have lamented before, his family makes no effort to come and visit him so I will be needing to hold my tongue.  I know I can, I just don't want to be quiet, but as the Bible says, there is a time for speaking and a time to refrain from speaking.
