So glad that Brandy is doing well with the meds. Getting that tooth pulled will make her feel so much better!

Molly is doing well. 10 months old today. She is a wild woman but such a sweet girl. She and Benji are getting boarded all this week cause I am headed to the condo with some girlfriends for the week tomorrow. Then we leave for our family cruise next week so they will be boarded again. Sigh.. At least they like where they go and all that. Wish I knew someone who could watch them at our house

Have you asked at your vet's office?  I no longer board my pets, and everyone is happier now they are taken care of in my home if I leave.  And it's a lot cheaper!  The first pet/home caretaker I found through my vet's office on their bulletin board.  They were very familiar with her.  I checked her references, interviewed her in person etc.  She came twice a day and fed my pets, gave meds if needed, texted me each time she was at the house & sometimes sent a picture.  She brought in the mail, watered any plants outdoors that needed it etc.  It was cheaper than boarding.  I have since changed vets and two of the vet techs pet sit for me.  They are familiar with my pets and know their medical, since one dog has cardiac issues & takes meds, one is a very old chi (16 yrs), and I also have birds and they are familiar with them too.

Before I had in home pet care, I had taken my 5 dogs to a local kennel (had good reviews too!) for a weekend to go to my son's college graduation.  I ended up with 5 dogs with kennel cough.  And ALL were current on their shots, including bordatella.  I understand there are different strains, and I guess our dogs got something they weren't immunized for.  All five got anti-biotics and I had to give them cough medicine.  No more boarding, unless it's with the vet as a hospitilization if necessary.  Kennel cough can be dangerous for pups and for dogs with immune problems.  Now a shot is being required for influenza.  Something else to worry about.

Headed to the little house to start some interior cleanup.  Need to take down some ceilings and walls -- mold already growing.
This, of course, after I vote!

Wish I was there...I am really good at demo.  Hubby has to take care of the restoration end, but I can pull down sheet rock with the best of 'em. Takes out my frustrations, too.  Hope you get the little house back together soon.

Good morning everyone!

Things here are a little chaotic for me.  Accustomed to the peace and quiet and with the caregivers coming, it's not so quiet.
Very grateful the caregivers are coming to help with George but will be glad when I have my solitude again.
Yes can, I do have insurances (thank goodness I have both flood and homeowners but the combined deductibles are $3,000); however to prevent the ceilings from falling down on the furniture, had to take the ceilings down.  Getting a quote next Tuesday.  There is such a huge waiting list as some people don't have a place to stay at all.  The little community of Crisfield, Maryland was hit very hard by the hurricane.  So much damage to so many homes and businesses.  Lots of volunteers coming into town which is a blessings.  Trying not to complain about my situation, but George is anxious to go home.
So happy the northeaster that was forecasted didn't hit us.  Praying for those it hit.
Blessings to all.

Early Morning to all the Monkeys

Continued prayers for all that need them.

Sister sounds like you got a lot of work done. Sandy really did a lot of damage. Glad you have someone coming out soon to give you an estimate.

Brandi how is Brandi doing? Prayers she is getting better. How are you doing?

My youngest son called and said he won't be able to come in Dec after all. I was so looking forward to having him here with us for a little while. Without the girl friend.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week end.

Hi Green Eyes!

Thanks for asking. Brandi's golf ball-sized lump on her face is just about gone, thanks to the antibiotics she is on.

Her surgery is scheduled for this Tuesday. We take her in at 7:30 and pick her up at the end of the day. She will remain on the antibiotics after surgery and will be given pain meds for the first few days at home. She also will be on soft food for a while. (She has always been fed dry food. So I bought a few cans of food for her to see if she can eat that without any problems. Oh, she loves it. LOL) It was so funny, the first scoop of wet food she got, she didn't know what to do with it, so she licked it. Like a lollypop. heh

Just a little worried about having her put under at her age, but the vet thinks she should be okay.

Hope all is going well with you. Sorry about your son not being able to visit.

Hope everyone else is doing well. Seems this thread has gotten very slow lately.

That is wonderful news Brandi. I am so happy your Brandi is doing well. Well wishes and prayers for her surgery next week.  That is so cute she licked her wet food.  We are hanging in there. Been trying to get some projects done. I finely finished grand sons quilts. Almost ready to print out all my family tree stuff. I want to give each of our kids the Family tree for Christmas. Guess it depends on how fast I get it all together. I have so many old family pictures I have gotten from other family members I have meant over the years I have been working on it.

I know it's been real quiet on line. There seems to be so many effected by Sandy and the economy. Prayers to all. Let us know how Brandi does with her surgery. an angelic monkey

Good Morning sweet monkeys!  (And bad monkeys too - he he)!

Just lurking around lately.  Hope Brandi's surgery goes well tomorrow - glad it was diagnosed as a bad tooth.  I have never had my mutts teeth cleaned - I am lucky to just get them the ole regular annual checkup.  Geez Louise - have to budget for that as it is not cheap.

Prayers for Sandy victims.  We have storms here in Alabama but looks like Sandy was a whopper.  So much rebuilding to take place.

Call me Scrooge but I dislike the holidays. Oh I like the reasons for them but trying to make ALL the family members happy is another story... And not my children, it's the others who are exhausting.

Off to work we go...

Good to hear from you Caddy. Sandy really did some major damage. So many have lost so much. Sorry to all the New York Monkeys but they seem to be messen with the people. They just had " an inspector that was suppose to be inspecting the houses to see if they were okay to have the power turned back on. All was was doing was sitting in his car and marking houses at random to have the power turned back on. Not once getting out of his car and inspecting one house.

Caddy forget the other family members and just celebrate with your kids. You can't make every body happy and trying to will drive you nuts. Just my opinion.

Brandi glad the pup is going to be OK.
My sister went for her routine labs and they said she went from a stage 3 to a stage 4 kidney failure and panic set in.... after more testing and the nephrologist exam it was decided she was still stage 3.. Good News.
Have been setting up the game cameras to make sure no one is tresspassing to hunt on the property. The man that was running his dogs passed away this summer so I hope that solved my problems.
GE  I worked on our family tree and it led to a trip to Ireland and was just great fun.
Everyone in need stays in my prayers and will try to get back to my internet routine soon.
