THE DISCONNECT

Terri Horman - August 14, 2014

"Kyron Horman is missing.  He needs to be found. I love my son. I want him home more than anything."

http://www.oregonlive.com/pacific-northwest-news/index.ssf/2014/08/four_women_who_opposed_terri_h.html

Desire Young - February 2, 2011

"Right before the holidays Tony and I received a briefing from LE where they gave us all the evidence on the case.  We're confident from that briefing that we have the right person.  She put everything in writing.  She had a severe severe hatred for Kyron and she made no mystery to how she felt.  She very clearly wanted him out of her life."

Kyron Horman's Mother Speaks Out
11/15/2010

Transcript Excerpt

<snipped>

On Friday LE showed Desiree emails Terri had sent to friends describing her marriage to Kaine and her feelings about Kyron.

Desiree: It's very clear from Terri's horrible words that she had a severe hatred for Kyron, and that a lot... she blamed a lot of the marital problems between Kaine and herself on Kyron, that it was a huge point of contention in their marriage, and she had expressed in great detail her hatred for Kyron.

I now believe without a shadow of a doubt that not only is she capable of hurting Kyron, that it's clear that she could have hurt him in the worst possible way

KAINE HORMAN

Missing Kyron's Dad Points Finger at Stepmom
Kaine Horman suspects his estranged wife knows what happened to his son.
11/19/2010

Transcript Excerpt

<snipped>

Reporter: Have you seen the emails that are being talked about where Terri allegedly talks about hurting Kyron?

Kaine: Yeah, well, I, I've seen them. Yes.

Reporter: What is in those emails?

Kaine: I'm not gonna talk about it. It's information that's supposed to be confidential to the investigation, and...

Reporter: Did they only solidify your belief that Terri's responsible?

Kaine: Everything that we see moving forward just adds to the pile.

The motion also states police told Kaine that Terri exchanged hundred of text messages with Cook and several photographs of Terri Horman "in various stages of undress and graphic sexual activity." According to the filing, the "sexual nature" of the relationship between Cook and Terri Horman began on or about June 30, four days after Kaine Horman moved out of the family's Northwest Portland home. ...

Monday's court filing also stated that police had told Kaine that Terri's "sexual overtures to Mr. Cook resemble those made to the man Respondent (Terri Horman) attempted to hire to murder Petitioner (Kaine)."

Could it be ... after five long years ... an indictment against Terri will come down without investigative knowledge of "the final answer" regarding the whereabouts of a "stashed/secreted" Kyron Horman?  Could it be that when all is said and done Terri Horman may not privy to "the final answer"?

Desiree Young - September 2013

"I am 150 percent confident that Terri Horman should be charged in the case.  Maybe we haven't found Kyron yet but we have a lot of circumstantial evidence tying Terri to Kyron's disappearance. ...."

Desiree Young - June 21, 2014

“We have lots of evidence. We just don’t have that final thing, the final answer. It’s frustrating. It’s not a stranger that walked into Kyron’s school that took him. It was someone in our trusted circle. We know who has the answer, she just refuses to talk.”

Could Desiree Young's persistent organized search efforts in the Cornelius Pass area be all about attempting to locate "disposable/untraceable" cell phones that may have been purchased and used by those involved in the planning and execution of the "stashing/secreting" of her precious son?

Day 3: FBI calls in criminal profiler in search for missing Skyline boy; interviews with students and parents begin
June 06, 2010

<snipped>

Neighbors stop by Brooks Hill Historic church, across the street from the school, to mull over the investigation. "This kind of thing is unheard of," says Jim Kelley, 50.

Kelley, who lives about a mile and a half down hill, at the end of a winding, secluded country lane off Cornelius Pass, said police, federal agents, K-9 teams and helicopters scoured the area Saturday.

"We had two odd sightings of a vehicle on our road Friday," Kelley said. Around 3 p.m., he and a neighbor reported seeing a white pick-up truck with a female driver pull to the end of the long road, idle and then turn around. Then again at 2 a.m. Saturday morning, a similar white pickup truck appeared, idled and when a neighbor loosed her dogs, eased away."

"A, it was strange to have a car there, any car there, that we didn't know, and B, it was strange to have a vehicle come down our dead-end road twice in the same day, hours after a little boy goes missing," said Kelley. "That's beyond rare."

Kelley said authorities have twice searched the deep ravine, creek and railroad tracks located near the end of his street by air and on foot.

Crews Search Again In Kyron Horman Case
August 8, 2010

Crews returned to northwest Portland on Saturday in the search for missing 7-year-old Kyron Horman.

FOX 12 has confirmed that a tip from DeDe Spicher -- a friend of Kyron's stepmother Terri Horman -- is what sparked the search.

Search teams were seen near a field off Cornelius Pass Road, about one mile south of Skyline School. Kyron was last seen at the school June 4 and his stepmother was the last person known to have seen him.

Police Bump Up Search for Kyron Horman
by Harris Faulkner
August 9, 2010

Just got off the phone with Multnomah Sheriff’s Department and they confirmed a “tip” led them to bump up the search again for 7-year-old Kyron Horman. Kinda knew that but, wanted to see if they would comment about reports that the “tip” came from family friend, DeDe Spicher. They wouldn’t tell me if that’s true. But, Spicher told a Grand Jury on Friday that she, another girlfriend and Kyron’s stepmom, Terri Horman, each bought an untraceable cell phone the day the little boy vanished. The cops wouldn’t tell me if they’re looking for those phones in the big renewed search. This case is intense. Where is that child?!

Volunteers with the group Kyron Horman's World Soldiers set up a staging area in northwest Portland off Skyline Boulevard. They recruited two non-profit search agencies, and said they had an overwhelming response from volunteers.

Aided by 10 search dog teams, around 60 volunteers each day scoured the area around Skyline Boulevard and Germantown Road -- the same area searchers combed shortly after Kyron disappeared in 2010.

Desiree Young organizes new search to find her son, Kyron Horman
Published: June 20, 2014[/b]

It's been just over four years since Kyron Horman disappeared. Although his story has faded somewhat from public view, his mother still grieves constantly.

"It's every single day, every single second," said Desiree Young. "I think about him. I talk to him on the drive to work, whatever I'm doing.

It's easy to see how the pain can be unbearable for Young. But it's also easy to see how it's become a motivator. Young will lead another private search for Kyron this weekend. She organized a similar search effort last year. Both searches have been paid for through Young's fundraising.

"What we're hoping for obviously is evidence that may lead us to Kyron," said Young. "Or evidence that Terri may have left out somewhere."

Although Kyron's former stepmother, Terri Horman, has never been charged in his disappearance, Young is convinced she knows something. She's confident investigators will eventually find the truth.

Desiree Young - June 2014

As I sit here in the silence of our home, my mind wanders to Kyron. I miss all of the giggles that have filled our home since he was born. The smiles that Kyron gives us are infectious and I am a different person without them to brighten my days. I need my Kyron home so that I can smile again. I miss him even more today.

I will never give up looking for Kyron, I will never stop, and I promise all of my Kyron supporters.

I will find my Kyron.

I don't want to be here in another year and certainly not in another four years either. I pray God look over us and help us have a successful search on the 20th, 21st & 22nd. I want to thank everyone who donated to help us bring in Klaas Kids to head up the search.

Now let's bring Kyron home!

When the 2014 car wash fundraising is considered ... inquiring minds are wondering why the silence from Kyron Horman's mother encompassing today's fundraising.  Could it be that investigative dots are currently being connected behind the scenes ... investigative dots leading to an indictment?  Could it be that LE has requested that Desiree and Kaine for the time being refrain from speaking to media?

Supporters Hold Car Wash For Kyron Horman Search
May. 9, 2015

KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. -- In less than a month, Kyron Horman will have been missing for five years. Supporters organized a car wash Saturday in Klamath Falls to raise money for the next search effort coming up in a few months.

This search will be number six, organized by family among others done by law enforcement agencies. June 4 will mark five years since he disappeared.

Family members hope fundraisers like this will put pressure on people they believe are connected to Kyron's disappearance.

Money raised from the car wash will go towards funding search and rescue teams as well as paying for Klaas Kids, a non-profit providing search and rescue teams for missing children.

Horman’s mother, Desiree Young, held a car wash at Xtreme Gym in Beaverton, where his wall of hope stands, Saturday May 3 to raise money for a renewed search effort.

“I hate that it costs money to search for your son,” she said.

“We’re trying to bring in a couple of non-profit organizations, and we have to pay for their flights, and so we’re going to do a search in June, and that’s what it takes unfortunately.”

DESIREE YOUNG - JULY 30, 2013

Kyron Horman's mom drops civil suit against stepmom
July 30, 2013

PORTLAND -- Kyron Horman's mother has dropped her civil lawsuit against Terri Horman, due to the ongoing criminal investigation.

Desiree Young's civil case was intended to compel Kyron's stepmother to talk about the boy's disappearance. Young believes Horman kidnapped him.

During a press conference Tuesday, Young said the only way for her civil suit to proceed was to have access to police records about the investigation. That would not be allowed under public records law, she said.

Young also addressed Terri Horman directly: 'Terry, I cannot tolerate this silence,'she said.

To pursue the civil case and to go after the police records could threaten the criminal case, she explained. Young said she wants no part of hindering that criminal investigation.

'I'm very disappointed that we can't move forward,' she said. 'I don't want anything to compromise the ongoing investigation.'

She said that Horman continues to stonewall investigators. 'I'm still going to bring pressure on Terri. I'm not going away,' Young said.

A key witness was now cooperating with investigators, according to Young's attorney. He said that DeDe Spicher has testified before the grand jury for the criminal case. Spicher was friends with Terri and her whereabouts were in question the day Kyron vanished. She had previously declined to speak with investigators or testify.

Meantime, Young has not given up hope that Kyron can be found. 'Every day you are not here safe in my arms is another day of agonizing torture,' she said. 'I will find you. It's all I want. I will not stop. I will never stop.'

Young filed the $10 million civil case against Horman on June 4 , 2012 in connection with the 7-year-old boy's disappearance two years earlier. Her lawsuit asked the court to compel Terri Moulton Horman to disclose Kyron's location. It also included two claims: One for custodial interference and one for intentional infliction of emotional distress.

However, the case was stopped in its tracks last November, when the judge delayed the civil proceedings, explaining that it 'could impact an ongoing criminal investigation.'

'Premature disclosure of the information contained in these documents could jeopardize that ongoing investigation,' D.A. Michael Schrunk said at the time. 'Sealing these documents is in the best interests of justice, will preserve the integrity of the investigation, and will promote the safety of the witnesses involved.'

Kyron vanished after a science fair at Skyline Elementary School in 2010. Terri Horman was his step-mother at the time and was questioned on multiple occasions by investigators, but never arrested.

Young said that she initially decided to pursue the civil case in an effort to try and get Horman to tell investigators what happened to Kyron because she believes Terri kidnapped him. Young's attorney said the lawsuit would enable him to subpoena witnesses, acquire documents and evidence and 'peel away the mystery' of what happened to Kyron.

<snipped>

His stepmother, Terri, was the last person to have seen him, investigators said. Horman has retained a lawyer, moved into seclusion at her parents' home in Roseburg, and has refused to talk any further with detectives.

Nobody has been named a person of interest or a suspect in the case, but Young and Kyron's father, Kaine Horman, have both said they believe Terri was behind his disappearance.

KAINE HORMAN - JULY 30, 2013

Kaine, MCSO committed to ‘bringing Kyron home’
July 30, 2013

Kaine Horman held a news conference Tuesday afternoon at the Wall of Hope, just hours after the mother of missing Kyron Horman said she dropped a civil suit that may have been keeping the boy’s stepmother, Terri Horman, from revealing what she knows about his disappearance.

“We still have extreme confidence that they’re going to drive resolution to the case,” Horman said to reporters around 3:15 p.m. He said law enforcement is “again asking us to help protect the information as much as we can, so it doesn’t interfere with the integrity of what they’re doing. And we’re doing our best in the civil arena to do that.”

<snipped>

During Tuesday’s press conference, Kaine Horman did express disappointment over Desiree Young’s dropped civil suit.

“At the same time,” Horman said, “trying to press forward to find Kyron and protect my daughter are the two things that are in the highest priorities.” The daughter’s mother is Terri Horman.

He said he does agree with Young that it’s probably best to drop any suit that might infringe on the investigation into Kyron’s disappearance.

Here’s what Young had to say earlier Tuesday: “I don’t want anything to compromise the ongoing investigation for Kyron. For these reasons, I have instructed my attorneys to dismiss the civil case.”

Horman and Young both believe Terri knows something more about how and why Kyron disappeared from a science fair at Skyline School. Terri dropped him off there.

In April of this year,  Multnomah County Judge Henry Kantor also delayed the divorce hearing between Kaine, Kyron’s father, and Terri Horman for similar reasons. The Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office supported the request. However, as of Tuesday, Kaine Horman told KOIN 6 News that — while the civil suit is dropped — his divorce proceeding with Terri will continue “full throttle.”

Also on Tuesday, Young’s attorney said DeDe Spicher, who has been identified as a close friend of Terri Horman, testified again before a Multnomah County grand jury. That testimony, Young’s attorney said, was within the past two weeks.

Just minutes before Kaine Horman’s news conference, the Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office sent out the following statement on the Kyron Horman missing person’s case:

“The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is aware that Desiree Young has withdrawn her civil suit against Terri Horman. The Kyron Horman investigation remains an active, ongoing criminal investigation. While the civil suit was of interest, it did not affect the course of action or goal of the investigation.

“We continue to work with our investigative partners and the Multnomah County District Attorney’s Office as we maintain the case integrity, development of leads and information gathered through the course of the investigation.

“The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office remains in close contact with the parents of Kyron regarding the course of the investigation.

“In addition, Sheriff Staton has met regularly with Kaine Horman concerning the investigation and to ensure they are fully aware of the current course of action being taken by investigators. Sheriff Staton wants the citizens of Multnomah County to know this criminal investigation remains a high priority for the Sheriff’s Office and that it will continue unimpeded. The integrity and security of the investigation remains foremost for this agency.

“The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office is unable to comment on specifics of the investigation but would like to reiterate its commitment to finding and bringing Kyron home and bringing closure to Kyron’s family and the investigation. MCSO encourages anyone with information regarding this case to contact our tip line at 503.261.2847.”

DEDE SPICHER - THE PROSECUTION'S STAR WITNESS?

I speculate that plea deal negotiations between investigators and DeDe have been ongoing since the beginning ... plea deal negotiations regarding the truth pertaining to DeDe's involvement as well as the involvement of others encompassing the disappearance and possible whereabouts of Kyron?  However ... it was not until July 2013 that investigators bowed and offered Dede FULL IMMUNITY from prosecution in exchange for revealing the truth ... submitting to a polygraph ... testifying before the Grand Jury and ... cooperating with investigators.  Could it be that when all was said and done ... although Terri was busted ... DeDe was unable to provide investigators with the location of a secreted/ stashed Kyron?

Attorney: Spicher shared Terri Horman emails, texts with cops
July 26, 2010

PORTLAND, Ore. -- DeDe Spicher, identified as a close friend of Terri Moulton-Horman, was called before a grand jury Monday in Multnomah County as part of the ongoing investigation into the disappearance of her step-son Kyron Horman.

Spicher's attorney told NBC Dateline that he would be "surprised" if Terri was not arrested in the case.

Grand jury proceedings are not open to the public or the media. However, Spicer's attorney did confirm that his client was subpoenaed to testify but did not give any testimony under oath Monday. He said she could be called back to testify in the future.

Stavley also told NBC Dateline Monday that Spicher had been, and planned to keep, cooperating with investigators. He said that she had already shared text messages and emails sent to and from Terri with detectives.

"I would be, frankly, surprised if Terri Horman did not eventually face charges in this case," Stavley said.  "I'd be surprised if the indictment didn't come down."

OCTOBER 2012

Terri Horman's friend DeDe Spicher declines to answer any questions about Terri Horman in deposition
October 23, 2012

Desiree Young's lawyer has filed a motion asking a judge to compel DeDe Spicher, a friend of Terri Moulton Horman's, to answer his questions after she declined to answer 142 questions during a deposition he took earlier this month stemming from Young's civil lawsuit against Horman.

<snipped>

Spicher declined to answer any questions posed by Young's lawyers on Oct. 5 that involved Terri Horman, Kyron's stepmom, or Kyron -- each time asserting her Fifth Amendment constitutional right not to incriminate herself.

Spicher also declined to answer questions about where she was on June 4, 2010.

Meanwhile, there was a huge breakthrough in the criminal investigation.  Horman's good friend, Dede Spicher -- who previously refused to answer questions in court -- testified before an investigative grand jury in the past week or two.

"I hope she talks and shares everything she knows," Young said. "I'm optimistic."

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

I somehow believe that the recent media silence encompassing Desiree and Kaine imply something is up ... something is about to break?  In other words ... investigators have determined that media interviews with Kyron's parents may have the potential of compromising what is going on behind the scenes.

THE TERRI HORMAN SILENCE

IF Terri was confident no accumulated circumstantial evidence or no   witness testimony existed that would implicate her in the Kyron Horman and/or MFH cases ... logic dictates ... she would not be pleading the Fifth in depositions and ... her high profile attorney would have launched a massive civil suit against the powers-that-be who have denied her contact with her daughter for the past almost five year.  It makes sense that Terri and her high profile attorney would be taking full advantage of the media circuit platform proclaiming the injustice.  IMO

In 2014 ... Terri accepted a conditional/restrictive custody settlement with Kaine that would give her eventual very limited contact with Kiara.  If Terri was confident that nothing revealed in a court of law would implicate her in the Kyron Homan and MFH cases ... why settle?  Why is her high profile attorney not challenging Kaine's allegations in the restraining order against his client and going for full custody?

Also ... when the words of accusation forthcoming from the lips of Desiree and Kaine over and over again in media interviews and respective lawsuits are considered ... after five long years why has Terri's prominent attorney not launch a massive civil suit against Kyron's parents citing "Defamation of Character"?  Unsubstantiated accusations imply Terri would emerge the victor.

SKYLINE SCHOOL DISTRICT

It makes sense that Desiree and Kaine have both been convinced in briefings with investigators that Terri Horman is behind the disappearance of their son on the morning of June 4, 2010 or ... their focus would have taken another direction as they desperately seek for answers and ...   their respective attorneys would have filed a massive civil suit on their behalf rendering the Skyline School District accountable.

CIVIL SUITS AGAINST TERRI?  Considering LE's requests that the ongoing Kyron Horman and MFH investigations not be compromised through the release of gathered circumstantial evidence  ... it appears that Desiree and Kaine ... to the best of their ability ... choose to forgo civil suits and walk the investigative walk that will hopefully bring their son home.

THE FINE LINE

1.  Desiree's Delayed Civil Suit

Judge approves motion to put civil case against Terri Horman on hold
Nov 27, 2012

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office confirmed to Fox 12 they have new leads in the disappearance of Kyron Horman.

The revelation comes at the same time it was ruled a lawsuit filed by Kyron Horman's mother against Terri Horman will be put on hold until Aug. 1, 2013.

Desiree Young's attorney filed a motion to abate the civil proceedings Monday, and on Wednesday Judge Henry Kantor approved it, putting the case on hold for nine months.

Kantor's ruling said he approved the motion to abate on the ground that "allowing the case to proceed could impact an ongoing criminal investigation."

The Multnomah County Sheriff's Office said Tuesday the new developments in their investigation stem at least in part from details gathered in the early days of the investigation.

Investigators believe the new leads and further development of old leads could present progress in the case. ....

Kantor ordered the motion to abate the civil case be sealed. Court documents show that decision was "for the reason that a related criminal investigation is still being conducted."

"Premature disclosure of the information contained in these documents could jeopardize that ongoing investigation," said the documents, submitted by Multnomah County District Attorney Michael Schrunk.

They went on to say sealing them will "preserve the integrity of the investigation and will promote the safety of the witnesses involved."

2.  Desiree's Dropped Civil Suit

Kyron Horman's mom drops civil suit against stepmom
July 30, 2013

Kyron Horman's mother has dropped her civil lawsuit against Terri Horman, due to the ongoing criminal investigation.

<snipped>

To pursue the civil case and to go after the police records could threaten the criminal case, she explained. Young said she wants no part of hindering that criminal investigation.

'I'm very disappointed that we can't move forward,' she said. 'I don't want anything to compromise the ongoing investigation.'

<snipped>

<snipped>

3.  Kaine's Custody Settlement

Kaine Horman will keep full custody of daughter

Kaine Horman will retain full custody of his 5-year-old daughter Kiara, a judge ruled Tuesday. The girl's mother, Terri Moulton Horman, will eventually be allowed to have supervised visits.

"I believe where we are today is still keeping my daughter safe, that status quo is still maintained, so I think we are doing what we need to be doing.".

4.  Kaine and Terri's Divorce Settlement

Kaine, MCSO committed to ‘bringing Kyron home’
July 30, 2013

Here’s what Young had to say earlier Tuesday: “I don’t want anything to compromise the ongoing investigation for Kyron. For these reasons, I have instructed my attorneys to dismiss the civil case.”

Inquiring minds are wondering why the silence from Kyron Horman's mother encompassing the 2015 car washes.  It is concerning.  It is puzzling.

THE LULL BEFORE THE STORM?

Could it be that ...

1.  Investigative dots are currently being connected behind the scenes?

2.  The implication is that an arrest in the Kyron Horman and MFH cases is imminent ... an arrest based on circumstantial evidence ... an arrest based on testimony from witnesses including those who have been afforded immunity from prosecution?

3.  LE has requested that Desiree and Kaine ... for the time being ... refrain from speaking to media?

Justice for Kyron Horman! - Kelly Davidson Ramirez

For almost 5 very long years we've been waiting. Waiting for Kyron to come home. Waiting for answers. Waiting for someone to do the right thing. That someone has remained silent… therefore, we have no answers. So we search. We search because we have to, because no answers is not acceptable. We will never accept this fate. We will never bow down to these horrible, disgusting and heartless people. We will always be Kyron’s voice, never accepting this fate of the unknown.

So we search, and we will keep searching for as long as it takes. The time for our coordinated searches for Kyron is fast approaching. With the help of Klaas Kids, and certified K9 dogs with their amazing handlers, we will be conducting searches in the coming months. 100% of the donations to this site will be used in our continued search to bring Kyron home.

No one will ever detour us, because Kyron matters. He will always matter!!

This is a quote from my sister just before the searches last year:

“As I sit here in the silence of our home, my mind wanders to Kyron. I miss all of the giggles that have filled our home since he was born. The smiles that Kyron gives us are infectious and I am a different person without them to brighten my days. I need my Kyron home so that I can smile again. I miss him even more today.

I will never give up looking for Kyron, I will never stop, and I promise all of my Kyron supporters….

I will find my Kyron.

Now let’s bring him home!”
