Just for clarification purposes, most news outlets spelled his name wrong.  It is Stephan Wayne Cantrell.

Kelli is very tiny.  Considering his criminal history ... could Kelli's size be the reason that she may have been targeted by Nicholas Holbert?

Kelli Bordeaux Search: Person of Interest Denies Involvement, Questioned Twice by Police
April 18, 2012

A 25-year-old bar hand who is a registered sex offender has been questioned twice by police in connection with the disappearance of a missing soldier and has been called a person of interest.

Kelli Bordeaux, 23, was last seen leaving Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville, N.C., around 1:20 a.m Saturday.

Nicholas Holbert, 25, told ABC News 11 exclusively that he gave the soldier a ride home from the bar, where he works, but denied having anything to do with her disappearance and said he dropped her off at the entrance of her neighborhood at her request.

"As soon as you drive into the entrance to Meadowbrook, she said stop right here," Holbert said. "So I stopped and she said, 'I'll walk home.' I said, 'Are you sure?' She said, 'Yeah.' I said I figured she didn't want me to know where she lived, or somebody was there and she didn't want to be seen together."

The bar hand, who lives in a lean-to behind Froggy Bottoms, was questioned for a second time today by Fayetteville Police. He said he believed he was being targeted because he has a criminal record.

Holbert is a registered sex offender and was convicted as a 16-year-old of indecent liberties with a 5-year-old child, ABC 11 reported.

Froggy Bottoms bar owner arrested on federal, local violations

The owner of Froggy Bottoms bar on Ramsey Street was arrested on federal and local violations Monday morning , authorities said.

Steven Cantrell, 49, of the 300 block of Lynn Avenue in Fayetteville, is wanted in Boston for failing to pay $400,000 in child support payments to three women, a Cumberland County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said.

Those warrants were issued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Debbie Tanna said.

Cantrell also is accused of failing to show up in Cumberland County on a 2001 driving while impaired charge, Tanna said

Profiler: Bordeaux Search Should be Expanded

FAYETTEVILLE -- The Fayetteville Police Department will ask volunteers to help it search Thursday for evidence connected to the disappearance of Kelli Bordeaux.

The 23-year-old Fort Bragg soldier was last seen leaving Ramsey Street club Froggy Bottoms more than a week ago.

However, Dr. Maurice Godwin, an investigative psychologist, said police shouldn't be focusing on just the immediate area around the bar where Bordeaux was last seen. Godwin, who has worked on high profile cases like the Washington, D.C. sniper case in 2002 and several missing persons cases, thinks police need to expand their search.

"You don't know how long after she left the bar that she encountered any harm," said Godwin. "For example, she could have been taken down I-95 south."

Godwin said he doesn't have enough information to be certain of a location, but he's is fairly confident that Bordeaux did not go off with a stranger.

"Because of the tight time line of leaving the bar and going home and that type of thing, you have to consider it's an acquaintance that was familiar with her activities and routines that night," said Godwin.

Public asked to aid in search for missing female soldier

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. — Volunteers on Thursday will help police search for clues in the disappearance of missing Fort Bragg soldier Kelli Bordeaux.

Fayetteville police have invited the public to join in the search for the 23-year-old U.S. Army medical specialist, who was last seen leaving the Froggy Bottoms bar at 6326 Ramsey St. around 1:20 a.m. on April 14.  A police investigation into her disappearance began April 16 after Bordeaux never showed up for duty.

During Thursday’s efforts, police said it’s possible searchers will need to walk through private residential property in the North Fayetteville region, where crews will be assigned to various locations throughout.

Kelli Bordeaux search: Police release last photo of missing soldier; husband suspicious of sex offender who saw her last
Husband Mark Bordeaux says he 'doesn't trust a word' bartender says about his missing wife, Kelli

By Philip Caulfield / NEW YORK DAILY NEWS
April 26, 2012

North Carolina police have released what could be the last picture of a missing Fort Bragg soldier, who vanished earlier this month after a night on the town.

Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux snapped the iPhone photo of herself just hours before she disappeared on April 14 after leaving the Froggy Bottoms bar in Fayetteville.

Cops said the outfit she’s wearing in the photo — a flirty pink top and black shorts — was what she had on when she hit the pub that night, local station WGHP reported.

Fayetteville Police said they were continuing to gather information on the case, but wouldn’t reveal whether they had any leads.

Kirby: Search shows a caring community

Silently, Mike Bordeaux sat on a concrete curb as volunteers by the hundreds readied for a search for his wife, now missing nearly 14 days.

He stared downward.

He was somber, melancholy, and there was no mistaking he was a despondent husband.

Volunteers not giving up search for missing soldier

AYETTEVILLE, N.C. --

Volunteers continue to search for a missing Fort Bragg soldier, two weeks after her disappearance.

Volunteers, some with dog teams, gathered Saturday to search for 23-year-old Kelli Bordeaux.

Crews began their search early Saturday morning and plan to continue their search into the night, using night vision equipment.

"There are some areas that are so thick in there that you would have to take a chainsaw," said Chris Sayre, with the non profit group TMC K-9 Search and Rescue.

Mother of missing Bragg soldier holding on to hope

Fayetteville, N.C. — The mother of a Fort Bragg soldier who has been missing for nearly three weeks said Friday that the family is holding out hope that she will be found, despite the fact that police have no new leads in her disappearance.

"Until Detective Jeff Locklear tells me any different, I'm going to keep thinking that she's here, and she's being held and she just cannot get away from whoever has her," said Johnna Henson of her daughter, Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux. "I know Kelli will fight, and Kelli will try any way possible to get back to her family."

Searchers find no new leads in case of missing Bragg soldier

Fayetteville, N.C. — The search continued Saturday for a missing Fort Bragg soldier last seen more than five weeks ago.

Search organizer Mindy Wilson said three teams of a dozen volunteers searched for more than four hours in different locations, but didn't turn up any new clues in the disappearance of Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux, 23, of St. Cloud, Fla.

Searchers will be out again next Saturday, looking on the other side of Fayetteville, Wilson said.
