JVM was talking about this case tonight..her mother said that the husband was in Florida visiting his family when Kelli disappeared. They were having problems but he was not in the tea and mom does ot suspect him.
Kelli had been out partying at a bar having a good time according to witnesses and had excepted a ride from a guy. It sounded like he had been questioned by the police from some info that the mom had said...mother is devastated ..poor dear...

Good grief!  It's the Killgore wife who was filing for divorce!  I'll get my act together one day...maybe!  Sorry for the needless post!

It's easy to get these two mixed up...both involve military and young women.

Sister: 'Out of character' for Bragg soldier to go missing

Fayetteville, N.C. — Fayetteville police said Tuesday they are searching for a missing Fort Bragg soldier who was last seen leaving a bar early Saturday.

Fort Bragg officials reported Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux, 23, missing on Monday after she didn't show up for duty.

"During the early course of the investigation, there was some information that detectives received that leads us to believe she may be in danger," said police spokesman Gavin MacRoberts.

Her family members traveled from Florida Tuesday to assist investigators in the search.

Bordeaux's older sister, Olivia Cox, said it was out of character for her sister not to show up for work.

"Kelli is a good soldier. Kelli is not a soldier who would go AWOL," Cox said.

Cox declined to comment on whether Bordeaux was with her husband, Mike, the night she was last seen, but did say he was "holding up the best he can."

FAYETTEVILLE (WTVD) -- Authorities are searching for a 23-year-old Fort Bragg soldier who has not been seen since April 14.

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department are trying to locate Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux.

She was last seen leaving Froggy Bottoms bar in the 6300 block of Ramsey Street around 1:20 a.m.

Fort Bragg officials reported Bordeaux missing to Fayetteville police on Monday.

Bordeaux, who is a combat medic, is described as standing 5' 1" tall and weighing 102 pounds. She has blond hair and brown eyes. The soldier was reportedly last seen wearing a pink tube top with spaghetti straps and black shorts.

Tuesday evening, Bordeaux's sister held an emotional news conference in front of the Fayetteville Police Department.

"Being a soldier to Kelly isn't something she'd jeopardize for anything," said Bordeaux's sister, Olivia Cox. "Missing work isn't something that's in character for Kelli. This is an out of character thing to happen to my sister."

Bordeaux was last spotted leaving a bar, Froggy Bottoms, in nearby Fayetteville about 1:30 am on Saturday. A bar employee gave her a ride home, but he is not considered a suspect, a military official told NBC.

Bordeaux, a health services specialist originally from St. Cloud in Central Florida, has been married for two years but is estranged from her husband, Mike, the official said.

“Supposedly when the guy that was giving her a ride home, was taking her to her apartment, he got to her apartment and something spooked her so … she said, 'No, no, no just let me out here,' instead of taking her like around the corner to her apartment,” her mother, Johnna Henson, told wptv.com. “I don’t understand that.”   ::snipping2::

Now that story sounds fishy.  I'll bet LE is checking out the bar employee with a fine tooth comb.

Police target area for missing soldier search
http://abclocal.go.com/wtvd/story?section=news/local&id=8626014
4/18/2012

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. (WTVD) -- Police said Wednesday morning they were using cell phone information to target their search for a missing 23-year-old soldier.

At a news conference Wednesday morning, Fayetteville Police Chief  Tom Bergamine said officers had set up a command post and were focusing on the area from Ramsey St. up the Interstate 295 corridor because that was the last place records show Bordeaux's mobile phone pinged a cell phone tower.

Unless she wasn't actually spooked but just didn't want the bar employee to know exactly where she lived.

Dive team searches pond in missing soldier case
April 19, 2012

A lead in the case of Pfc. Kelli Bordeaux led to the deployment of a dive team in nearby Eastover, said spokesman Gavin MacRoberts of the Fayetteville Police Department. Eastover is northeast of Fayetteville, in Cumberland County.

Police and the military searched an area near a Fayetteville bar where Bordeaux was last seen and last used her cell phone, authorities said.

The soldier, 23, left the Froggy Bottoms bar early Saturday, police have said. The GI had been drinking and was given a ride home by a bar employee, according to a U.S. Army official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

At some point, the Army official said, Bordeaux sent two text messages. One said, "got home safely." The official did not know who the text was sent to or the contents of the second text message.

The area to be searched is near the bar and Interstate 295, Fayetteville Police Chief Tom Bergamine told reporters Wednesday. Records showed Bordeaux's cell phone "pinging" off a tower nearby early Saturday, he said.
 ::snipping2::
Police were tight-lipped on the investigation, with Bergamine refusing to comment on several questions, including one about the text messages. On whether Bordeaux is believed to be a random victim, Bergamine would say only that the case is classified as a missing-persons case, and "there is a lot that is not known."

The Army official said police searched Bordeaux's apartment and vehicle, but did not know where the vehicle was found. Bordeaux was reported missing Monday when she failed to report for duty, the official said.
 ::snipping2::
Bordeaux's mother, Johnna Henson, said she had been told by police that an individual gave her daughter a ride to the bar, where she took part in karaoke. Henson told HLN's Jane Velez-Mitchell that her daughter was "spooked" while someone was driving her home, and that Bordeaux reportedly told the driver to let her out before she reached the apartment. She said she does not believe her daughter arrived home.
