I loved how the records were rated on Bandstand.

No, I don't think you were scattered flutter.    The two thread starts were in different categories (one music, one "News of the Day") and with either subject applicable but they were less than a minute apart, meaning you guys were probably posting at the same time.      It's all good, and easy to merge topics

Dick Clark: 1929-2012
April 19, 2012

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Dick Clark, the ever-youthful television host and tireless entrepreneur who helped bring rock ‘n’ roll into the mainstream on “American Bandstand,” and later produced and hosted a vast range of programming from game shows to the year-end countdown from Times Square on “New Year’s Rockin’ Eve,” has died. He was 82.

Spokesman Paul Shefrin said Clark had a heart attack Wednesday morning at Saint John’s hospital in Santa Monica, where he had gone the day before for an outpatient procedure.

Clark had continued performing even after he suffered a stroke in 2004 that affected his ability to speak and walk.

Long dubbed “the world’s oldest teenager” because of his boyish appearance, Clark bridged the rebellious new music scene and traditional show business, and equally comfortable whether chatting about music with Sam Cooke or bantering with Ed McMahon about TV bloopers. He thrived as the founder of Dick Clark Productions, supplying movies, game and music shows, beauty contests and more to TV. Among his credits: “The $25,000 Pyramid,” ”TV’s Bloopers and Practical Jokes” and the American Music Awards.

Dick Clark's remains cremated; further service plans not finalized
By Michael Martinez and JD Cargill
updated 3:49 PM EDT, Sat April 21, 2012

Los Angeles (CNN) -- Dick Clark, the music impresario and host of "American Bandstand" who died this week, has been cremated, his representative said Friday.

"He has been cremated, but no other plans have been finalized," Clark publicist Paul Shefrin told CNN.

Clark, 82, suffered a heart attack Wednesday while at St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica, California, for an outpatient procedure, Shefrin said. Attempts to resuscitate Clark were unsuccessful, he said.

As the host of the popular "American Bandstand," Clark shaped American tastes in music trends, and with a fresh-scrubbed, boy-next-door persona, he introduced the world to likes of Buddy Holly and James Brown.

I don't think I ever heard Dick Clark ever say a word of profanity or even anything negative about someone else.  They don't make 'em like that anymore and the world is a coarser place because he is gone.   an angelic monkey

Flutter,

I agree, Dick Clark, never on camera used any profanity, and he was kind to all.
He was a gentleman, businessman, and a man with golden ear's. Smile

"Quote" Trade Mark
His departing catchphrase delivered with a military salute.

He had one older brother, Bradley, who was killed in World War II.  This may make
sense why DC signed off with a military salute. Dick Clark will be missed. He was so
patient with the Teeny-Boppers on AB.

The Superbs "Baby Baby All the Time"

Published on Nov 6, 2012

American Bandstand. September 19, 1964.

The sound is definitely 60's, but I like how they retain the classic moves of the 50's.

My Favorite video.  Love the Superbs wiggle Smile
