Who is Suspected Kidnapper Adam Mayes? His Neighbors Paint A Picture

(Alpine, MS)  The talk in the small community of Alpine is about Adam Mayes, a neighbor who police say is now a suspected kidnapper.
Unidentified neighbor, “I never had any problems with him”
He lives right across the road from where police believe Mayes lived. The man allowed us onto  his property, but reluctantly talked about Mayes.
“Sometimes people put up a facade when something ain’t right”
Authorities described Mayes as armed and extremely dangerous. The FBI says he was considered a trusted family friend to the Bain family. They say he didn’t have a serious criminal history.
Mayes was last seen in Guntown, Mississippi on Tuesday and may be headed to Arizona or to North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida where he has connections.
At the Alpine Fire Department, several people attend a town fundraiser, but they say they are in shock about the accusations about one of their neighbors.
Alpine Fire Chief Lewis Grimes says Mayes had just recently moved to town about a year ago and most people didn’t know much about him or his family.

(Jackson, TN) The FBI has announced two bodies have been found at the home of Adam Mayes in Guntown, MS.
The bodies were found Friday after a search warrant was executed.
The bodies have not been identified yet, though Jo Ann Bain has been removed from the Amber Alert.
Mayes is wanted for the disappearance of three girls and their mother from Hardeman County.

Hardeman County neighbors fear for missing family

HARDEMAN COUNTY, TN -
(WMC-TV) Friends of Jodi Bain have been frantically trying to find her and three daughters.

"Why wasn't something done before now?  Why did they put an amber alert on these babies last night?  This could have been prevented," said Stephanie Crowe, a friend of the family.

Crowe says her step-daughter is classmates with missing 14-year-old daughter Adrienne Bain.

Arrest warrants have been issued for Adam Mayes for the kidnapping of Jodi Bain and her three children, Adrienne, 12-year-old Alexandria, and 8-year-old Kyliyah.

Investigators say Mayes may have changed his and the missing victims appearances.  Something Crowe says her step-daughter and Adrienne had discussed.

"She sat up and said oh my God!  Adrienne told me Thursday that she was getting her hair dyed this weekend.  She said like a red, auburn color maybe," stated Crowe

Fox 13 News discovered someone with access to her Facebook, answered an inquiry from a friend less than 24 hours ago. On her Facebook page Bain listed her address as being in Arizona. At a new conference on Wednesday, the Sheriff's Office told Fox 13 that it was not JoAnn updating her Facebook.

So who was it?

“We do have information that he has altered the appearances of everybody including himself, primarily from cutting their hair,” said Siskovic. “The girls my have far shorter hair than the pictures that are out there.”

The FBI says if they can find Mayes then they’ll find the missing Hardeman County mother and her three daughters.

So, this is sounding like the two bodies may not be the mom or the kids.  So, who would they be?  The suspect's family?

This morning on Fox & Friends they keep reporting the two dead, unidentified bodies ... they keep saying that only some of the children may still be with suspect Mayes.

Despite published reports, the bodies were not found in Guntown or any other part of Lee County, according to Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green.

Although this report says that the loation of the bodies were at a residence of Mayes as per FBI spokesperson.

The bodies were found late Friday night or early Saturday morning in Guntown, Miss., in a residence associated with the man charged with abducting Jo Ann Bain and her children, FBI spokesman Joel Siskovic said. Siskovic said authorities on the scene were not able to positively identify the bodies.

I've been watching the FB pages of some of Jo Ann's close friends, one that I think she was closest to has not posted anything since Friday night.  From what she had been posting she was in close contact with Gary Bain.

From that information also, I think Traca Bain (mentioned earlier) is Gary's daughter, step-daughter of Jo Ann Bain.

Chasity Renee Rodgers They wasn't found in Guntown but Alpine. Which is union co. it's not Guntown. Yes it was the mom n two girls he killed. Also David is on the run with his daughter that he had with the lady he killed. The other two girls were the lady's by another guy. They were found on hwy 9 in alpine wrapped n plastic n buried under some pallets in his back yard. It's my neighbor sad to say. Really upsetting all of us. Pray they find the lil girl safe.

Chasity Renee Rodgers And it's three bodies wrapped in plastic buried under pallets in his back yard. I live right down the road from his double wide. It's taped up with caution tape. People r stretching this saying he didn't know the lady. Yes he did they had a child together. Also she had two by another man. She lived in Tn. These three are the three dead. Also he is on the run. With the one girl that's his n the lady he killed. They have took them three off the amber alert b/c they r dead!!!

(Union County, MS) The investigation is unfolding into the disappearance of the Bain family, a mother and her three children.

The FBI wants to find 35-year-old Adam Mayes more than ever, after two bodies were found in a home where he had been staying near Guntown, MS.

Investigators became suspicious of Mayes when they lost contact with him on Tuesday.

“We executed some federal search warrants at some residences he’s been known to stay at,” said FBI spokesperson, Joel Siskovic. “At that time, during the search, we did find two bodies at that location.”

The FBI is not saying whether or not those bodies belong to the missing Hardeman County family, only that they’ve sent them to the medical examiner’s office to be identified.

“It was based on finding those two bodies that initiated the Amber Alert with concern of extreme danger to the children,” said Siskovic.

It is worth noting that the mother, Jo Ann Bain, has been removed from the Amber Alert.

All the FBI would tell News Channel 3 is the house is located near Guntown, MS. However the house is believed to be on Highway 9 near Alpine, MS. U.S. Marshals were there investigating Saturday afternoon.
