ALPINE, Miss. (WTVA) — Union County Sheriff Jimmy Edwards has confirmed that Adam Mayes has been found.

He adds that the two young girls—12-year-old Alexandria Bain and 8-year-old Kyliyah Bain—are okay.

Justin Lewis and Alvin Ivy are on their way to the scene on County Road 183.

Adam Mayes Captured; 2 Missing Bain Girls are safe

(WMC-TV)  Action News 5 has confirmed Adam Mayes has been captured.

Mayes was recently added to the FBI's Most Wanted list for the murder of Jo Ann Bain, and her 14 year old daughter Adrienne.

The two missing girls, presumed to be with Adam Mayes, 12-year-old Alexandria, and 8-year-old Kyliyah are safe, with authorities at this time.

According to Union County Sheriff Dept., Mayes was found with what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

At this time, Adam Mayes is alive, but is close to death according to the Union County Sheriff's Department.

Stay tuned to Action News 5 and WMCTV.com for the latest updates as they come in.

UNION COUNTY, MS (abc24.com) - Adam Mayes has been found by law enforcement officers in Union County, Mississippi, and the two young sisters he's accused of kidnapping have been found alive.

Mayes was on the FBI's Top 10 Most Wanted list for the murders of 31-year-old Jo Ann Bain and her 14-year-old daughter Adrienne, and the kidnapping of 12-year-old Alexandria and 8-year-old Kyliyah Bain on April 27 in Whiteville, TN.

Mayes was found behind a church not far from where the mother and daughter's bodies were found in Guntown, MS. The FBI will not confirm reports that Adam Mayes was killed, but ABC 24's Eli Ross stated that an ambulance carrying Adam Mayes has just left the scene. Alexandria and Kyliyah were found alive but their conditions are unknown.

Missing Girls Found Alive

Union County, Ms - It's the end of the line for fugitive Adam Mayes. The two Hardeman County girls that he abducted were found alive Thursday evening. 8-year-old Kyliyah and 12-year-old Alexandria Bain are alive and safe.

Mayes was found near County Road 183 in Alpine. He is reported to be dead. Sources close to Fox 13 are reporting that Mayes died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Cops say Adam Mayes, a family friend, was staying at the Bain residence to help them prepare for their upcoming move to Arizona. When police interviewed Mayes, he allegedly admitted he was the last person to see Jo Ann and her three daughters before they disappeared.  When police went back to interview Mayes a second time, he was nowhere to be found. Authorities immediately issued an AMBER Alert.
