A previous post of mine concerning money.  This is an older post.  How much other money have the Martin's or the Zimmerman's gathered? There should be accountability imo.

If there are big buckets of cash handed to the Martin family, where is the accountability?
http://edition.cnn.com/2012/04/27/justice/florida-zimmerman-money/?hpt=us_c2
"The attorney also said the Martin family has raised less than $100,000 in fund-raising efforts to date, and that the money collected will go toward the Trayvon Martin Foundation."

 As far as the question asked by Al Sharpton, "who is financing Zimmerman", does this mean anyone that donates to George Zimmerman could be threatened?  In my previous post, George Zimmerman's attorney O'Mara does say he's concerned about those that donated to the fund.

http://edition.cnn.com/2012/04/27/justice/florida-zimmerman-money/?hpt=us_c2  Lester and O'Mara both said they are concerned about releasing the names of donors to Zimmerman, who has faced threats since the case began making national headlines in March."
"My fear is they may well be targeted for reprisals or animosities or whatever," O'Mara told reporters after the hearing.

Red Carpet Treatment for Martin Family As Celebrities, Activists and Supporters Pack Prestigious L.A. Church
April 27, 2012

 ::snipping2::
The Trayvon Martin family formally launched the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation on the stage of one of the nation's most prestigious churches -- The West Angeles Church of God in Christ. The night also marked the two month anniversary of the tragic killing of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin's death, at the hands of 28-year-old, self-appointed, community watchman George Zimmerman. For the first time, the advisors of Tracy Martin and Sabrina Fulton, the parents of Trayvon Martin, outlined the purpose for the newly established foundation on behalf of Trayvon. There had been three other rallies held in Los Angeles over the past two months wherein demonstrates marched and chanted for George Zimmerman's arrest.
 ::snipping2::
The NAACP, National Action Network, Empowerment Movement and Rainbow Push Coalition co-sponsored the event and stated their support for the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation's mission. The mission of the foundation is for:

    Advocation for crime victims and their families of senseless crimes

    Educating young people on conflict resolution techniques

    Increasing public awareness against all forms of profiling

    Enacting Trayvon Martin legislation to prevent the inappropriate application of "stand your ground" principles

Reverend Al Sharpton, founder of the National Action Network and host of MSNBC's Politics Nation was the first speaker for the evening
 ::snipping2::
harpton briefly talked of the foundation's goals and explained that a long-term commitment is needed to make effective changes to "stand your ground" laws. He also was responsible for asking the audience, the VIPs sitting on the stage, and the clergy assembled, for donations that would go directly to the Justice for Trayvon Martin Foundation.

The Nation of Islam gave $5,000, a couple of organizations gave $500, scores of people gave $100 and then the audience walked around the church to put their donations into large buckets. immediately following the collection of monies, Reverend Sharpton handed the filled buckets to the Martin family. He explained that all monies raised would be go to initiatives specifically outlined in the foundation's mission statement. He made it very clear that no money would go to the travel or personal expenses of the family.
 ::snipping2::
Reverend Jackson, a slowed down version of his younger self, asked the question, "who is financing Zimmerman?" Jackson stated that CNN reported that the unemployed Zimmerman has over $200,000 in his account.

This information brought jeers from the crowd. Although he illustrated through audience participation, that most African-Americans in attendance knew someone who has been profiled, his message was one of inclusion. He said, "we have to stop all of the killing, of all of the people, all of the time." He took his seat to a standing ovation with the saying for which he is most famous: "Keep Hope Alive."

Crump: Don't unseal the $1 million-plus settlement Trayvon's parents received
12:34 p.m. EDT, April 15, 2013

Benjamin Crump has formally asked Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson to make sure the specific amount of the $1 million-plus settlement Trayvon Martin's parents reached with George Zimmerman's home owners' association be kept secret.
 ::snipping2::
On April 5, Seminole County Clerk of Courts Maryanne Morse notified Crump that she intended to unseal it, saying it did not meet the legal standard of a confidential filing.

Morse today said that Nelson will now decide whether it should be unsealed. It's not clear when she will rule.
 ::snipping2::
In paperwork made public today, Crump called O'Mara's suggestion that Tracy Martin had a financial motive to change his story "unintelligible" and "devoid of merit."

He changed his story, Crump wrote, because he has since heard a clearer version of the recording and when he first heard it, was in "an extreme emotional state."

Crump asked the judge to only block the payment amount from public view.

Keeping it secret "is essential to avoid irreparable harm in the negotiations and exposure of other claims/lawsuits," Crump wrote.
 ::snipping2::

BUMP

I don't blame them and I would have done the same thing, certainly not because of hunger for money but for justice and awareness.  It has been reported the association knew Zimmerman was armed when he patroled the neighborhood.  That plus the number of 9-11 calls he made should have inspired them to counsel Zimmerman about how Neighborhood Watch is appropriately used.

Marijuana, guns and fighting: New photos and texts from Trayvon Martin's cell phone paint troubling picture of slain teen

and this:

Zimmerman should not have had a gun. He was just a security guard patrolling the neighborhood. The teen was not carrying marijuana or a gun. It's as if the photos justify shooting the teen. If we shoot people based on what photos they keep on their phone, how is that determined? This is clearly mud slinging.

Trayvon's cell phone pics and texts do not reveal all of who he is or who he was going to become.  What matters is the events of that night and the motivation of both George Zimmerman and Trayvon Martin.

State files another request for gag order in George Zimmerman case
May 23, 2013|

State prosecutors have renewed their request for a gag order in the George Zimmerman case, their third effort to muzzle his defense team.

Assistant State Attorney Bernie de la Rionda filed his motion Thursday, stating that Zimmerman's defense team continues to publicize the case through their website and encourage comments about the second-degree murder case through social media.

In October, Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson rejected one of the state's requests for a gag order.

The Orlando Sentinel, which objected to the state's earlier requests for a gag order, also opposes their latest filing.

Also Thursday, prosecutors asked the judge to bar Zimmerman's attorneys from telling jurors that their client passed a pair of voice stress tests, a low-tech version of a lie detector test, that was administered by Sanford police.

The chance of jurors hearing about that is very unlikely, given that lie-detector tests are inadmissible in Florida courts.

unless the state has someDAMN stunning evidence that makes GZ the one who confronted martin, He will mostly likely walk. (AND he should, if he is in fact innocent).

IF it does turn out that GZ did intend to confront TM and kill him, then he needs to go to prison.

( I just have not seen any evidence that would make me believe that he did).

Not all of the facts are out and I'm sure both sides have evidence that we have yet to see.

Reporting of Trayvon in the morgue for 3 days--

http://www.examiner.com/article/trayvon-martin-morgue-3-days-as-john-doe-after-mom-reported-him-missing

Trayvon Martin in morgue 3 days as 'John Doe' after mom reported him missing
March 23, 2012
By: Isabelle Zehnder

Trayvon was reported missing by his mother, yet his body was left in the morgue for three days classified as “John Doe,” ABC News reports. This report conflicts with an interview PEOPLE did with Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin - see below.

According to the ABC News article, the family said officers didn’t bother to ask neighbors if they recognized Trayvon, who had been staying with his father who lives in the neighborhood where he was shot.

PEOPLE interview with Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin

Another article, written by PEOPLE, indicates Trayvon Martin's father reported his son missing the morning after he was shot and killed. According to the interview PEOPLE had with Trayvon's father, Tracy Martin, he was not concerned when his son didn't return home the evening he wpleas shot because he thought he might have gone to the movies with his responsible older cousin. He went to sleep, and when he awoke to find his son gone he grew concerned. He made several phone calls, no one knew where Trayvon was.

Tracy Martin called the Sanford Police who came to his home the morning after the shooting. When he told police about his son's disapperance, police asked him for a photo of his son. Tracy showed the police officer a photo of Trayvon he had saved on his cellphone. The officer said he was going to show Martin a photo to see if it was his son. It was a photo of Trayvon's dead body.

It is unclear why ABC News reported that Trayvon's body was left in the morgue for three days, classified as "John Doe."

Can someone please find me a map? (and not one that has been doctored to fit either side).

That is one of the things I have been trying to understand.

He could have made it the house he was staying at. GZ was on the phone for nearly 5 minutes.

I think this should clear up the issue of the 911 operator telling george to stay put:

Zimmerman's lawyers say Trayvon Martin argued with friend, was 'angry' on night of shooting

Attorneys for George Zimmerman say that unreleased text messages drawn from Trayvon Martin’s cell phone show the 17-year-old was arguing with a friend and was “angry” on the day he was shot and killed in Sanford, Fla.

“This is relevant to Mr. Martin’s overall demeanor that day and relevant to his emotional state,” a new court filing by the defense team reads. The filing goes on to say the messages “may assist the jury in understanding why Trayvon Martin chose to hide and then confront George Zimmerman rather than simply going home.”

The document, filed with the court in Sanford and made public Friday, is the latest in a back-and-forth over the admissibility of character evidence related to Martin, whose death on Feb. 26, 2012 spurred a national conversation about race, guns, and Florida’s expansive self-defense laws.

Defense releases photos, texts of Trayvon Martin

"Is the defense trying to prove Trayvon deserved to be killed by George Zimmerman because (of) the way he looked?" they said. "If so, this stereotypical and closed-minded thinking is the same mindset that caused George Zimmerman to get out of his car and pursue Trayvon, an unarmed kid who he didn't know."
