Addressing Concerns About Cyber Attacks and Doxing
on 13 December 2012

We feel a responsibility to make a public, affirmative stance against any and all incidents of cyber attacks or “doxing” to anyone associated with this case, any one suspected as being associated with this case, or to anyone who contributes to the conversation about this case.

We have heard that some witnesses, or possible witnesses, and supporters on both sides of this case have been the victims of cyber attacks or doxing (the act of publishing personal documents about the individual on the Internet). With a case of such intense scrutiny, we are in uncharted waters regarding how the case is discussed publicly, and the online accessibility of individuals associated with the case. As the defense team, we have taken a well-documented proactive stance on how we manage our digital media presence. Our policy regarding digital media makes us particularly aware of the online conversation regarding our case, and we attempt to adjust our online presence as we see the need.

We first became aware of these concerns while we hosted the George Zimmerman Legal Case page on Facebook. Part of the reason we discontinued our presence on Facebook was because we were uncomfortable being in any way associated with people engaged in such practices and we refused to provide a platform where this practice could take place.

We understand that there may have been such actions directed at individuals who may be associated with Witness #8. In an October 19 hearing, the defense team requested a Subpoena Duces Tecum for the social media accounts of Witness #8; however, we intentionally did not disclose her name or any possible Twitter handle out of respect for her privacy. (We still have not been informed of her Twitter handles). If there is an individual who has been mistaken as Witness #8, and if this individual has been subjected to these practices, then we feel that those who knew Witness #8’s identity and therefore her Twitter handle, such as the State Attorneys Office or the handlers of the Martin family, have had many specific opportunities through social media or press conferences to publicly correct the misrepresentations and end the concerns -- an opportunity they have yet to take. We implore them to do so now, to minimize any further damage. If they know the Twitter handles are of a person unrelated to the case, why has this not been publicized?

We are taking this opportunity to say that we do not condone or encourage such practices; and anyone who wishes to make a beneficial contribution to this case must know that they do a considerable disservice if they engage in such practices, and we unequivocally condemn the practices mentioned above.

Judge in Zimmerman case also taking on Zimmerman v. NBC
1:17 p.m. EST, December 14, 2012

SANFORD - In three weeks, Circuit Judge Debra S. Nelson, who's overseeing the George Zimmerman murder case, will inherit a new one: George Zimmerman's defamation suit against NBC Universal Media LLC.

Rarely is a judge asked to preside over a man's murder case and, at the same time, his suit demanding a big payout from a major media company that he accuses of defamation.

Mark O'Mara represents Zimmerman in both cases. In an email exchange Thursday, he wrote that he sees no conflict with Nelson handling both cases and has no current plans to ask her to give the defamation suit to another judge.

Nelson, 59, is taking over the NBC case because she's swapping jobs with another Sanford judge, Marlene Alva, a 13-year court veteran. As a consequence, come Jan. 2, Nelson will hear civil cases, those involving disputes over money and property – not crimes.

She'll hang onto the Zimmerman second-degree murder case, which she has set for trial in June, but will hand off her other pending criminal cases, including the perjury case against Zimmerman's wife, Shellie Zimmerman.

It will now be handled by Alva, 60.

Bodyguards sue George Zimmerman, Mark O'Mara
5:05 p.m. EST, December 21, 2012

A security company has filed suit against second-degree murder defendant George Zimmerman, his wife and his attorney, Mark O'Mara, accusing them of failing to pay $27,000 for protection services.

Associated Investigative Services filed suit in state circuit court in Orange County on Friday.

According to the civil complaint, O'Mara hired the company on June 26 to "provide security services and security detail for the Zimmerman family" in anticipation of his release from jail.
 ::snipping2::
When told about the suit, O'Mara today said, "Wow. I'm very surprised that they filed suit. We've paid them over $40,000."

The company no longer provides protection to George and Shellie Zimmerman, O'Mara said, in part because it was billing them $7,000 per week at one point, an amount that he said appeared to be unwarranted.

The Zimmermans are now paying $700 a week for protection, O'Mara said.

The AIS complaint acknowledges the $40,000 paid by the defense, and also says the company warned O'Mara that the amount of security he requested was "excessive in scope."

George Zimmerman
Sued Over Bill
To Protect His A$$
t cost roughly $67,000 to keep Trayvon Martin shooter George Zimmerman safe after his release from jail this summer -- and now, the security company that protected him from angry mobs and vigilante killers is suing him for a huge chunk of that bill.

Associated Investigative Services filed the lawsuit against Zimmerman and his attorneys, claiming they hired the firm in June to provide security "in anticipation of Mr. Zimmerman's release from incarceration while he was awaiting trial on felony criminal charges."

According to Associated, Zimmerman's lawyer faithfully paid $40,000 while the company continued to provide security services ... but then payments stopped and the bills piled up.

According to the lawsuit, Zimmerman's attorney told Associated his client could no longer afford the protection services -- partially because he still needs to pay for his defense in the upcoming second degree murder trial.

George Zimmerman sued over unpaid security bill

A private detective is suing George Zimmerman over unpaid bills for a security plan for the former Neighborhood Watch volunteer.

This was the plan to move George Zimmerman out of the Seminole County Jail and make him disappear: He would be outfitted in concealed body armor and driven away by an armed guard in a rental vehicle that had been checked to make sure no one had secretly placed a GPS tracking device on it.

He would be whisked away to a tourist resort, according to a recently-released “jail escort plan,” where he would then go into the handicapped stall of the men’s bathroom and change into a new shirt, hat and glasses.

Zimmerman, facing second-degree murder charges for the shooting death of Trayvon Martin, would then walk to a different vehicle and be driven to a safe house. All the while, bodyguards would watch for paparazzi, “aerial” and “negative counter surveillance” and be on the lookout for people wanting to harm or humiliate their client.

Zimmerman hearing set for next week canceled

SANFORD, Fla. —
A hearing for George Zimmerman scheduled for next week has been canceled, WDBO has learned.

Attorneys on both sides have a chance to go before Judge Debra Nelson each month to air out their concerns in what are called docket soundings. This time, neither side had an issue to bring up.

“This case has enflamed passion on all sides of it and it’s dangerous,” defense attorney Mark O’Mara said.

Zimmerman remains secluded in Seminole county, despite his attorney's efforts to change that.

The next hearing in scheduled for February 5. Zimmerman is facing murder charges in the shooting death of Trayvon Martin.

The owner of the security company suing GZ for payment stated he did not think GZ needed the kind of security he was requesting, that it was overkill.  24 hour protection when no one knows where he is staying?  I doubt he needs it and am a little suspicious it is more about he and O'Mara trying to play on the sympathies of the public and future jurists.  JMO.

There were threats against George Zimmerman and his family.  There was even an elderly couple that were forced to move out of their house because they received hate mail and  were harassed because of a retweet by Spike Lee that gave the couples address.  Their son Wiiliam George Zimmerman once lived at the house.  This elderly couple feared for the safety.  (it's quoted in the article)

Trayvon Martin case: Anderson Cooper, New Black Panther leader clash (Photos)
March 26, 2012

SANFORD, Florida (Isabelle Zehnder reporting) – CNN’s Anderson Cooper challenged the New Black Panthers’ position that they’ve offered a $10,000 reward for the capture of Sanford, Florida neighborhood watch volunteer, George Zimmerman, who shot and killed 17-year-old Trayvon Martin one month ago tonight – dead or alive.

Their mantra has been ‘an eye for an eye.’ Trayvon’s parents said Monday they don’t want an ‘eye for an eye,’ they want an arrest and justice for their son.
 ::snipping2::
The New Black Panther Group has put a bounty on George Zimmerman with a $10,000 reward for his capture, dead or alive. As disheartened and sad as Trayvon’s family is, they have made it clear they do not want this type of justice – an eye for an eye. They want true justice. They want Zimmerman arrested, they want a thorough investigation, they want justice for their son.

Separatist black group stands by bounty offer for man who killed Florida teen

(CNN) -- The separatist New Black Panther Party, described as a hate group by a civil rights organization, is standing by its $10,000 bounty offer for the capture of the man who shot Trayvon Martin, despite vehement opposition from, among others, Martin's family.

"We're here to make them do their job," organizer Mikhail Muhammad said on Monday. "We will support Trayvon's family, but we are military."

Elderly couple forced out of home after tweet claims killer of Trayvon Martin lives there

Quote
When William Zimmerman pleaded with the man who tweeted the address, the man responded, "Black power all day. No justice, no peace" along with an obscenity.

And this is what happens when people refuse to look at both sides of any issue.  Innocent people are hurt.  I hope they sue every one who tweeted that addy.

Supporters of George Zimmerman fearful of speaking out
By HOLBROOK MOHR and MARINA HUTCHINSON Associated Press March 28, 2012 8:34AM

Trayvon Martin’s supporters pack churches, swarm rallies and wear hooded sweat shirts in solidarity while friends and family of George Zimmerman, the neighborhood watch volunteer who shot the unarmed teen to death, remain largely out of sight. The few who have defended Zimmerman have done so reluctantly, most fearing public backlash.

Zimmerman, 28, has gone into hiding. His version of what happened on the rainy night of Feb. 26 has only trickled out from police and his attorney. Zimmerman said he was pursuing the 17-year-old Martin because Martin was acting suspiciously. He said he lost sight of the teenager and Martin attacked him as he headed back to his sport utility vehicle.

Zimmerman told police he fired in self-defense and police did not arrest him, touching off widespread public outrage and protests across the country.

Martin’s supporters believe race played a role in the shooting. Martin was black; Zimmerman’s father is white and his mother is Hispanic.

“The family has had death threats, the father and mother, George has had death threats. Anything related to George is a target,” said Miguel Meza, who identified himself as Zimmerman’s cousin.
 ::snipping2::

And there's more.  I found these in just the first thread.  I've been reading a lot of hate and anger in regard to this case toward George Zimmerman and his family.  I'm not a security expert, therefore I couldn't say to what level they need security.  But I sure wouldn't want the Black Panthers looking from me IYKWIM.  There is so much vitrol.  Read through some of the articles and read the comments.

Rumbaugh’s company put together the plan, according to the court documents. It’s not clear whether it was fully carried out. He did not return a phone call Thursday; neither did O’Mara. But the plan called for Zimmerman, his wife Shellie, other family members and at times, O’Mara to be protected by a seven-member team of bodyguards.

The guards would take eight- or 12-hour shifts and live in a room next to the Zimmermans, at a tourist-area hotel equipped with a kitchenette, records show. The agency billed Zimmerman and O’Mara for around-the-clock protection from June 29 to July 18, the invoices show.

Alot of security was provided for a lot of people (GZ's parents, wife, other family members, and attorney) at the insistence of the Zimmerman's and now they won't pay the bill for fear George won't have enough money left over to pay his defense... the same defense attorney who recieved protection.

I recall the Zimmerman's were sued twice prior to Trayvon's murder for not paying creditors, meanwhile instead of working to pay the debt owed Shellie was doing online classes and not long after dropped out.  I find it difficult to hold these people in any kind of regard.  They just refuse to pay their debts because they would rather be a 'stay at home student' or because they may eventually run out of money, not to mention lying about the funds they had to a judge.

You recieve a good or service and it's your responsibility to pay for it but apparantly the Zimmerman's feel some things should just come for free or when they decide to stop paying they can.

"Not long after George and Shellie married, they found themselves in hot water financially.

Capital One accused George Zimmerman of failing to pay more than $1,000 in credit card debt, the Seattle Times reported.

Three years after they married, Shellie was also sued for failing to pay a credit card bill, the Orlando Sentinel reported."

Does the state have ANY evidence that discredits GZ's accounts of what happened?

Any witnesses that said "No, it was GZ who was beating TM to a pulp?

any evidence what so ever?

and if this does go to trial, will they show the 7-11 video of TM?

and do you think that TM's "girlfriend" will be ripped to shreads by GZ's defense team.

Report: Sanford cops initially wanted Zimmerman charged with 2nd-degree murder
They downgraded that to manslaughter.
7:53 p.m. EST, January 8, 2013

On the day Sanford police turned over the Trayvon Martin shooting investigation to prosecutors, they changed their final report at least four times over five hours and downgraded the charge they recommended from second-degree murder to manslaughter, newly-released records confirmed.

In the first version on March 13, lead Investigator Chris Serino and his bosses recommended that George Zimmerman, the Neighborhood Watch volunteer who killed Trayvon, be charged with murder. But they changed that about four hours later, according to paperwork made public Tuesday by defense attorney Mark O'Mara.

The Orlando Sentinel reported those changes Dec. 12 when Special Prosecutor Angela Corey made public a list of evidence that she had just released to O'Mara. It included only a few sentences but made clear there was an initial draft plus four revisions.
 ::snipping2::
The newly-released evidence also includes a new, slightly more audible copy of a recording in which Trayvon's girlfriend describes what she heard the night of the shooting.

The girl, identified by officials as "witness 8," told Martin family attorney Benjamin Crump in the recording that she was on the phone just before the shooting and heard Trayvon being pursued and confronted by a man. Her account to Crump, with federal investigators listening in, largely matches what she would later tell de la Rionda in his recorded interview.

Angela Corey sworn into second term as 4th Circuit state attorney
Corey was re-elected after running unnopposed
Posted: January 8, 2013 - 12:09pm  |  Updated: January 8, 2013 - 12:31pm

State Attorney Angela Corey was sworn in to a second term Tuesday, heading into the pivotal stages of some of Florida’s highest-profile cases.

“We’ve loved our first four years in office,” Corey said after the ceremony concluded, “and we have a great team in place as we head forward in our second term.”

Corey said her goals for the next four years included lowering the murder rate and getting more police on the streets.

She said she will be asking the state Legislature for more money but intends to spend that responsibly.

Corey, who drew no opposition for re-election, has remained broadly popular in the community while also serving as a lightning rod for criticism.

Her decision to prosecute Cristian Fernandez as an adult for the murder of his half brother, 2-year-old David Galarraga, has drawn international attention and scrutiny. Cristian was 12 at the time of the indictment.
  ::snipping2::
Corey also is attracting attention for her prosecution of George Zimmerman, who shot Trayvon Martin in Sanford while serving on Neighborhood Watch. Corey was appointed to the case by Gov. Rick Scott after the local state attorney withdrew from the case.

George Zimmerman defense: We have Trayvon Martin's school records
11:57 a.m. EST, January 16, 2013

The legal team for George Zimmerman, the man accused of shooting and killing Trayvon Martin, has received a copy of the 17-year-old's school records.

"We are entitled to receive the school records because some information in Trayvon Martin's file could be relevant in the defense of George Zimmerman," the website for Zimmerman's legal defense said today.

The records have not been made available to the public but according to Zimmerman's legal team, portions could be revealed later.

"If any detail of the school records should be considered relevant in the course of a Self-Defense Immunity Hearing, only the parts deemed relevant to the case will be entered into evidence," the website said.
