Lawyers digging up the good stuff
4/3/13    Kronk lawyers ask to question Casey Anthony in bankruptcy case

"Kronk's new filing says "it appears that there may be misstatements on [Anthony's] schedules regarding her income, living expenses, and assets."

"Gonzalez... believes that discovery will show the existence of funds and/or bank accounts being held by Debtor's attorneys and unnamed friends," Shuker's objection states.

 February 15, 2011 In bankruptcy, debtors hide assets and pay the price

When Gary K. Parker of Clearwater declared bankruptcy a few years back, he listed his seemingly meager assets.

A black couch valued at $100. A mirror, $10. A broken clock, $20. In all, a paltry $990 worth of stuff.

Except it wasn't quite all.

 What Parker didn't disclose on his bankruptcy petition was an account with $35,580. In September he pleaded guilty to knowingly making false statements, a felony that could send him to federal prison for five years when he is sentenced in April"

If it were any of us that fudged on legal documents, we would be in jail in a New York minute.  But it's Casey Anthony we're talking about here, so who knows?

Oh give me a break!!!

Anthony says the trustee is going so far -- she couldn't counsel "other victims of child abuse" if the groups tried to pay anything -- including plane fare or hotel.

She makes me sick. Her whole family does really. Imagine how jealous Casey is going to be when Cindy pays all of her attention to the new baby. If I was Mallory, none of the Anthony's would be alone with  that child. A murderer, 2 child molestors and a lying enabler nut case...nice family.

Casey Anthony: Bankruptcy attorneys to argue over rights to sell her life story
12:54 p.m. EDT, April 8, 2013

Should a federal bankruptcy trustee be allowed to sell the rights to Casey Anthony's life story in order to repay the thousands of dollars owed to her creditors?

The trustee thinks so, but Anthony's attorneys disagree.

On Tuesday afternoon, the trustee and Anthony's attorneys will make their arguments on the matter before a bankruptcy judge in Tampa.
 ::snipping2::
The hearing is slated to begin at 2 p.m.

Casey Anthony: Judge will rule later on plan to sell her story
4:25 p.m. EDT, April 9, 2013

TAMPA —A judge in Casey Anthony's bankruptcy case will decide within 30 days whether her life story should be sold to help pay her debts.

The bankruptcy trustee handling Casey Anthony's case will argued this afternoon for the plan.

Anthony's attorneys have objected to trustee Stephen Meininger's proposal, calling it an invasion of her rights and "private thoughts."

Meininger filed a motion last month arguing that Anthony's story is property and an asset, which could be sold to pay off the more than $790,000 she owes others, including criminal defense attorney Jose Baez.

Since Anthony did not attend the hearing, there is little of the media or public frenzy that has been known to surround her and her attorneys

Casey Anthony will not have to be questioned, judge says
Last Updated: Tuesday, April 09, 2013, 4:30 PM

 ::snipping2::
The judge did, however, rule that Casey Anthony will not have to answer questions in her defamation civil trial against Zenaida Gonzalez, or her defamation trial against Roy Kronk, for now.

Gonzalez is suing Anthony for defamation and said her life was ruined when Anthony used a similar name to say who had her then-missing 2-year-old daughter Caylee.

The attorney wants to take Anthony’s deposition to try and prove she knew she was lying when she came up with the name Zenaida Gonzalez.

However, the judge did say that he wants those civil trials to proceed. The judge says that he can't consider Gonzalez or Kronk as creditors unless state court rules that their reputations were ruined by Casey Anthony.

All of the civil suits against Anthony were put on hold when she filed for bankruptcy.

Casey Anthony civil trial must go on before bankruptcy case
Last Updated: Thursday, April 11, 2013, 11:57 AM

ORLANDO --
Casey Anthony will have to head back to civil court after a bankruptcy judge ruled Tuesday that a jury needs to decide if she ruined the reputations of Zenaida Gonzalez and meter reader Roy Kronk.
 ::snipping2::
Attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez said they are now working to get a new trial date set.

Casey Anthony's civil trial was put on hold when she filed for bankruptcy in January. But at a hearing Tuesday, a bankruptcy judge said the case needs to get figured out in civil court first, to see if there even is a case for bankruptcy.

Zenaida Gonzalez claimed her life was ruined with Anthony said a nanny with the same name kidnapped her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee. Anthony's lawyers later admitted there was no nanny.

Gonzalez's attorneys have tried to take Anthony's deposition ever since she was released from the Orange County Jail in 2011 after being found not guilty of murdering her daughter.

But so far, Casey has repeatedly pleaded the Fifth Amendment, saying anything she says could hurt her appeal her four convictions of lying to law enforcement.

That appeal is expected to run out sometime in the next six months. Once it does, Casey Anthony will no longer be protected by that option.

Attorney John Dill, representing Gonzalez, said their No. 1 goal is to get Casey to talk.

According to the article, "Casey Anthony has two weeks to take a finance management course or her bankruptcy filing might be thrown out."  It is dated April 19, 2013.  She had 60 days (from March 4) to take it and "file the certificate with the court."  It will be interesting to see if she took the class by the due date.

I wonder if she signed up for an online course? Go to the link and you can click on the questions for answers.  This is just one link I found in a search. Looks like $25.00 to take the first course, and $25.00 additional for the second course.

Q: If I am considering bankruptcy, do I need to take the pre-filing bankruptcy credit counseling course or the pre-discharge debtor education course? If yes, when do I need to take these classes?

A: Yes, these courses are required according to the Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer Protection Act of 2005 (BAPCPA).

You should first take the pre-filing bankruptcy credit counseling course. The pre-filing bankruptcy credit counseling course is also known as a pre-petition counseling session or a budget briefing. You will be required to provide a certificate of completion showing you have completed the bankruptcy credit counseling course prior to filing for bankruptcy.

After filing bankruptcy, and after receiving your bankruptcy identification number, you will then be required to take the pre-discharge debtor education course. The debtor education course is also known as the personal financial management course or the post-filing debtor education course, and completion of this course is required before your debts can be legally discharged through bankruptcy.

Q: When do I need to take the debtor education post bankruptcy course? How long do I have to take it after filing for bankruptcy?

A: In a chapter 7 case, you must take the debtor education post-bankruptcy class (1) after you file your petition for bankruptcy and (2) within 45 days after your first meeting date with your creditors and bankruptcy trustee. This meeting is also known as a 341 meeting (named after chapter 341 in the Bankruptcy Code which requires it).

In a chapter 13 case, the debtor education post-bankruptcy class must be taken (1) after you file your petition for bankruptcy and (2) no later than the last payment you have to make as required by your bankruptcy plan, or the filing of a motion for entry of a discharge under chapter 1328(b) of the Bankruptcy Code.

Thanks, Mzzz Bee, for the interesting, informative website regarding the finance management course.
According to the information, it's easy to meet the counseling and course requirements. Too easy, in my opinion.

http://bkclass.com/bankruptcy-classes-faq#8

 ::snipping2::
Q: How are the bankruptcy counseling and debtor education courses offered?

A: The bankruptcy counseling and debtor education courses are available by internet or by telephone. The bankruptcy counseling course is also available in person in Maitland, Florida, and the debtor education course is available in person in Tampa, Florida.
 ::snipping2::
Q: How long is each course?

A: The pre-filing bankruptcy credit counseling course takes a minimum of 60 minutes to complete. The pre-discharge debtor education course takes a minimum of 2 hours. Theses time requirements conform to the EOUST minimum program guidelines.
 ::snipping2::

Q: Can another person take the bankruptcy credit counseling or the debtor education course for me?

A: No. However, you may obtain assistance from a friend, family member or attorney when completing your bankruptcy credit counseling session or when taking the personal financial management course.

Back to top

Q: Are there any tests?

A: No. Each course is designed to help you understand your own personal financial picture. There are short quizzes in the course, however, you cannot fail! They are presented merely as a way to make sure that key information is delivered to you during each course.
