Casey Anthony’s lawyers seek more time
Published  12:29 PM EDT Apr 22, 2013

Anthony’s bankruptcy trustee and her attorneys say they are closing in on a compromise over the controversial proposal to auction off the rights to her life story.

The two sides filed a joint motion Friday asking for more time to work out a deal. The two sides have until May 9 to present case law to the judge.

As many as three bidders have expressed interest in buying those rights.

Hearing next month in Casey Anthony bankruptcy case
12:44 p.m. EDT, April 29, 2013

A hearing has been set in Casey Anthony's Chapter 7 bankruptcy case next month, when two people suing the infamous former murder defendant for defamation will continue their fight to salvage their lawsuits.

The suits, brought separately by Zenaida Gonzalez and Roy Kronk, were put in jeopardy by Anthony's January bankruptcy filing, which seeks the discharge of all of her debts and any other claims against her.

Gonzalez and Kronk plan to argue their suits should be exempt from discharge, and they have filed motions asking U.S. Bankruptcy Judge K. Rodney May to allow the suits to proceed in state circuit court.

At the next hearing, set for May 8 in Tampa, their attorneys will ask May to extend the deadline for their legal challenges to the discharge of Anthony's debts until after the suits are settled in the state court.

Meanwhile, Anthony's lawyers filed paperwork indicating she has completed a "personal financial management" course," a requirement of her bankruptcy. She took the course online, the court filing says.

5/6/13   Casey Anthony judge felt 'shock, disbelief' at not-guilty verdict

"  Perry described his "surprise," "shock" and "disbelief" at reading the verdict.

"There was sufficient evidence to sustain a verdict of murder in the first degree in this case," he said."

Wow! Finally he speaks! Often wondered how he really felt. Wonder if he feels any responsibility in Casey going free?

Even though it probably won't make a shred of difference, I'm going to point this out to my Mom, who drank the Baez kool-aid and bought the line of BS thought Caylee drowned in the backyard pool and George helped cover it up.  She said there wasn't enough evidence to show otherwise and  (and this part really annoys me) that her cause of death wasn't established.  The latter was not a requirement in this case.     Poor little Caylee.

I think Judge Perry had to wait for the appeals to be settled before commenting.

I still think his handling of the case helped to get the verdict she got. He rushed their jury selection. Which IMO was part of the problem.

I am probably in the minority here, but I think he did an admirable job. He made some decisions trying hard to not give any reasons for a mistrial.

I also thought he had to be shocked at the verdict. Interesting to see that he was. He said that he had to read it twice, because he was in disbelief.

He also said Casey was very manipulative, sometimes scolding her attorneys when the jury was out of the room. That dooes not surprise me in the least.

From the above article:
Quote
He praised Anthony’s lead attorney Jose Baez but likened him to a used car salesman.

“He came across as someone that you would like,” the judge said. “It’s like someone trying to sell a used car. Who are you going to buy it from? The most likable salesperson.”

Okay - this is weird - In the pictures/video arriving for bankruptcy court proceedings, she's wearing black tights, but in the pictures at the Daily Mail site I just posted, she has on white opaque hose.    What on earth?

i think she is bare legged. it was mentioned in the article..
maybe she had a quicky with Cheney once inside the courthouse and forgot to put her tights back on...
or who ever else she is doing to try to get out of paying her debts...

Search group objects to Casey Anthony's bankruptcy discharge
3:40 p.m. EDT, May 6, 2013

Another debtor is fighting Casey Anthony's attempt to clean her financial slate through bankruptcy: Texas Equusearch, the search-and-recovery group that looked for Anthony's daughter in 2008.

Texas Equusearch is suing Anthony in state court, alleging that she wasted the group's time and money with a fruitless search for 2-year-old Caylee, who Anthony knew was actually dead. Now, the group has filed a federal suit objecting to Anthony's recent Chapter 7 bankruptcy filing.

"As a direct result of [Anthony's] false representations and omissions," Equusearch spent over $100,000 searching for Caylee, and turned down more than 15 requests for help from other families, the new court paperwork says.

Equusearch is the third Anthony debtor engaged in the legal wrangling surrounding her bankruptcy. Zenaida Gonzalez and Roy Kronk, both of whom are suing her for defamation, have also signaled intentions to oppose the discharge of her debts.

The next hearing in the bankruptcy is set for Wednesday afternoon.

Although historically Casey Anthony is teflon in the sense that nothing seems to stick, I would just love it if she weren't allowed to discharge this debt through bankruptcy.  JMHO
