From Jim Hummel: Something has been found that could be evidence in the Mickey Shunick case; police are not yet indicating what the evidence is. This is the same place Mickey's bike was found off the interstate at Whiskey Bay. Many different law enforcement agencies are out searching at this time.

Unmarked empty white van arrived a short time ago. There's a massive scene on the banks of whiskey bay. Flood lights illuminating the water.

Wonder if they found her.

or her purse or cell. Doubt police chief's would be out there unless something important was found,  The unmarked white van concerns me that they found her.

from comments:

Sharon Allen Sandlin LCG CAO - Lafayette Consolidated Government Chief Administrative Officer. Dee Stanley used to be a TV reporter here in Lafayette and a news anchor, I think for Channel 10 but not sure. I went to Baton Rouge this morning and I've never seen so many State Police all over the basin bridge, plus a plane in the air doing nothing but fly overs in the Whiskey Bay area. Whatever they are after, they've been on it all day.

The item of interest turned out to be something wooden, perhaps a log. No evidence relating to Mickey Shunick case was found.

It sounds like something important. But why an unmarked van?

Missing Student Mickey Shunick's Bike Found: Serial Predator Responsible for Abduction? (VIDEO)

Missing college student Mickey Shunick is feared injured after her damaged bike was found by authorities 27 miles away from her last known location. Now police are looking for the drivers of vehicles captured by surveillance video footage; calling them vehicles of interest.

"The vehicles we're looking for are just vehicles of interest, not necessarily suspects," ABC News consultant Brad Garrett told the agency. "We know those vehicles were in the area and in the immediate area."

The three vehicles in question include a white pickup truck, a four-door Chevy and an older model sedan. ::snipping2::
