Jorge Pesquera, up until recently head of AHTA, has been named to a similar position for Palm Beach County, Florida. There is a Comments section at the bottom of the article; we've been hitting it pretty hard.

Read a few pages back for more information.

Monkeys...you need to read the comments...there are some monkeys to be proud of....I wonder if the Sun Sentinel and the Palm Beach area expected this....!

Are you on AOL?  If so, you can save any picture to "My Pictures" and ......then in your SM profile....browse....click on the picture when it comes up....it will be in the first slot....and submit.....this works for me....

Is this on our end? Is everyone else able to upload their avatars? If this is a sitewide issue, I'd like to see if this is something I can repair (even though it'll soon be moot as we move to SMF). Although http upload can be tricky on some machines. If it's working for some and not others, it's probably something specific to your computer, Katysmom. If I can help, holla back.

Jossy doesn't know who this person is, he stated last night they were on a radio show yesterday with their voice altered......he felt to corroborate Renfro and Dompig's lies and yes he stated they are full of you know what!

What is your take on the Director of the Hurricane center's outing? It seems he objected to not having a piece of tracking equipment updated? His staff outted him it appears.........and yes, I think every board member on the committee to review this Jorge fella needs quite a bit of enlightment to go along with his resume !

Just started hearing it late last week -- and this morning I heard he had been transferred temporarily and a new 'acting' director was appointed.

It seemed to happen very quickly.

And of course, I'm more worried about IT'S HURRICANE SEASON and I feel sorry for whoever has to take that job on without any ramp up time.

I'm worried about the comments that the director made. I would like to find out more. The NHC was pretty much destroyed by Andrew in '92 and rebuilt -- it's within 10 miles of where I live. I would like to think that the equipment is state of the art. It's the NHC, for goodness sake.

I thought the NHC did a great job 2 years ago with Katrina and Wilma (the 2 that romped thru S Florida)
