Stanley Cup Final: LAPD urges fans to stay away from L.A. Live area
June 6, 2012

Los Angeles police Wednesday evening said the area around LA Live had swelled to capacity with excited fans and urged people not to converge on the area as the Kings battled to win their first Stanley Cup.

Police said about a half-dozen restaurants and bars around LA Live were overfilled with Kings fans. Officers were planning to enter the businesses with fire inspectors and ask to people to leave the establishments, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

LA Live employees had put up barricades around the plaza area, forcing crowds to disperse and go into restaurants and stores.
