MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - According to Mobile Police, Investigators issued a search warrant over the weekend at the home of a relative of missing mother Brittney Wood.

Authorities and relatives tell FOX10 News investigators were specifically looking for electronics and child pornography videos allegedly taken by suspect Wendy Holland.

Sources say some of the 11 suspects charged have been opening up about an elaborate child sex ring involving family and friends of Wood while in jail.

Mobile Police would not provide the details of the warrant, in order to protect the investigation.

FOX10 News Reporter Andrew Perez is digging deeper to get more information on these developments.

“What you are faced with is children who grew up almost believing that this was normal, that this is what this family did. It's not like ‘let’s get together for Thanksgiving and carve a turkey.’ This was the normal family interaction,” said Assistant District Attorney, Nicki Patterson.

Detective Corley also said on the stand that twin sisters, Mendy Kent and Wendy Holland have an incestuous relationship, and one of the victims was forced to watch their sexual encounters.

Sex ring suspects admit watching sex abuse

Brittney Wood listed as a victim

By Andrew Perez Jessie Miller

Published: Sunday, November 17, 2013, 9:52 PM CST

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - FOX10 News has uncovered exclusive new details in an alleged child sex ring involving family and friends of missing mother Brittney Wood.

Authorities executed a search warrant at the home of suspect Wendy Holland Thursday, November 14 after two of the eleven suspects confessed to seeing numerous child porn videos on Holland’s home computer.

The warrant, obtained by FOX10 News, says authorities were searching for, "any printed images depicting children engaging in obscene activity or any devices capable of producing, storing or transferring digital images."

The warrant also says a child victim claimed that numerous instances of sex abuse were “videoed by Wendy Holland and/or husband Donald Holland by use of webcams, digital cameras, and cell phones.”

The search warrant also says that Brittney’s uncle, Dustin Kent and family friend William Brownlee have admitted to seeing videos of several child victims engaging in sex acts.

It reads, “Donald Holland showed them videos on his computer of (the victim) and Brittney Wood, at various ages all under 13, engaging in sexual activity with different adults.”

Witnesses present during the search of Wendy’s home say a computer tower and cell phone were removed from the residence.

FOX10 is working to get more information and will have details as they become available.

Donald Holland suicides with Brittney Wood gun, and he had video of Brittney and others engaging
in sexual activity with different adults. at various ages all under 13, Brittney is missing and LE
thinks her missing has nothing to do with the fam sex ring sex abuse
so does LE have evidence that Brittney Wood is missing on her own,or by someone not in the
sex ring sex abuse fam,are all the sex ring members accounted for at the time Brittney goes
missing.

I have felt, from the beginning, that this group of filth could not have acted all of these years without some high-placed help, whether that be in LE, the courts, or both.  With each of the recent stories I become more convinced that's the case.  IF the truth of this is ever found, no doubt we will all be shocked by the make up of the group of molesters.   But we all must remember that Brittney and the molester case are not connected.  Please

Investigators: child sex-abuse investigation and Brittney Wood 'all connected'

Wendy Wood Holland is accused of second-degree sodomy in Mobile County

MOBILE, Alabama – On the same day she was in court on sex-abuse charges, investigators with a search warrant took computer equipment that could contain pertinent evidence from Wendy Wood Holland’s home in Irvington, according to the Mobile Police Department.

“We made collection of electronic storage devices in regards to the ongoing sex-abuse case,” said Ashley Rains, a department spokesperson.

Holland is the maternal aunt of missing mother Brittney Wood, and for the first time since Wood’s disappearance in May 2012, Mobile County investigators are saying the 20-year-old and sex-abuse charges against several of her family members and their friends are linked.

Not only are there at least 9 such individuals facing prosecution in Mobile County, but several have been indicted in Baldwin County, where prosecutors were the first to press charges in the wake of Wood’s disappearance, although the investigation was going on prior to last summer.

“They all have something to do with Brittany Wood, maybe not her disappearance but they’re all connected,” said Mobile County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lori Myles about the Mobile County cases. “It’s just constant.”

And the search warrant, as well as possible pornographic materials contained on them, could provide the first evidence of that connection between Wood and sex abuse.

According to a report by Fox10 News, the search warrant cites a child victim who said “numerous instances of sex abuse” were recorded by Wendy Holland and/or her husband, Donnie Holland, using “webcams, digital cameras, and cell phones.

Donnie Holland killed himself shortly after Brittney Wood went missing, and is thought to be the last person to see her.

The report goes on to state that sex-abuse defendants Dustin Kent, Wood’s uncle, and family friend William Brownlee have admitted to seeing children having sex on video. According to the report, the search warrant reads: ““Donald Holland showed them videos on his computer of (the victim) and Brittney Wood, at various ages all under 13, engaging in sexual activity with different adults.”

In an interview with the Press-Register/AL.com, Myles did not go so far as to call Brittney Wood a victim, but said she could not comment on the substance of the search warrant since it was issued by the Mobile Police Department, and not the sheriff’s office.

Letters point to motive for murder

Authorities to also reopen suicide investigation

By Andrew Perez

Updated: Thursday, November 21, 2013, 8:00 PM CST
Published: Thursday, November 21, 2013, 8:00 PM CST

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Sources confirm to FOX10 News authorities are taking a second look at the apparent suicide of Donald Holland, Sr. He is the uncle and last person seen with Brittney Wood, who disappeared May 30, 2012.

Authorities are revisiting evidence to determine exactly how he died.

The news comes just days after letters to and from sex abuse suspect Wendy Holland surfaced, indicating that Brittney Wood may have known her life was in danger before she went missing.

In a letter obtained by FOX10 news apparently written to Donald’s wife, the sender writes “Brittney wrote a letter with a lot of evidence on it pertaining to Jennifer, her, you, Mendy, and (child victim). She said if anything happened to her to give it to the police.”

The letter goes on to say, “(no-name) is scared to give the letter up,” and “you need to … get that letter that Brittney wrote. This can seriously (expletive) you up.”

At least one of the letters was found at Wendy Holland's residence.

Sources said the new information goes toward motive in the possible murder of Brittney Wood and/or Donald Holland.

Wendy is one of 11 suspects arrested and charged in an elaborate child sex ring investigation where officials say family members had been “passing their kids around” for years.

FOX10 News Reporter Andrew Perez is putting the pieces together. Catch his exclusive report on FOX10 News at 9 p.m.

Fox10 Andrew Perez This alternative LE theory questions if Donald Holland was the only one involved in Brittney's disappearance. He has been the obvious choice until now. It also questions if his death was a suicide.

Justice Matters First - thank you Fox10 Andrew Perez for your dedication to Brittney and the other victims. Secondly - it has been obvious to anyone with half an ounce of common sense that Donnie's "suicide" should have at the very least been referred to as "alleged suicide". The red flags & other obvious signs/evidence were all there from the very beginning (deleted texts, calls, time lapse between calling LE when he was "found", hacking into Brittney's voice mail & Facebook, etc...).
Third - and this speaks to Donnie's alleged suicide, not everyone has been entirely convinced that he killed Brittney (or acted alone if he was involved). Why would he have been so desperate to reach her the following days if he knew she was dead? If he had intended to kill himself why wait until that morning/early afternoon? Why not do it in the previous days or months to avoid going to jail? If he killed Brittney and planned to kill himself why not commit the murder/suicide while they were both at the Styx River house on May 30th? Donnie's activities in those 3 days have never added up.

Justice Matters P.S... it's always convenient for the actual culprit(s) to blame everything on the person who is deceased.

The group walked from Bartram Park to the Hawkshaw Memorial Lagoon Park on Pensacola Bay, holding candles and carrying signs with the names and images of their missing loved ones.

Before the walk, they huddled together against the biting wind in a tight semi-circle, a member of each family stepping forward to tell the story of a missing loved one.

“We will not give up looking for her,” Hanke said. “Her daughter is 3, and she needs her mother.”

Brittney Wood's aunts denied bond reduction in ongoing sex abuse case, likely to remain in jail

By Theresa Seiger | tseiger@al.com

MOBILE, Alabama -- A Mobile County judge denied a pair of motions to reduce bond Monday morning in an ongoing sex abuse investigation spanning Mobile and Baldwin counties and leading to the arrest of multiple family members and family friends of a missing mother.

Mobile County District Court Judge Jay York denied a request to reduce the bonds of twin sisters Wendy Wood Holland and Mendy Wood Kent, both 34. They are the maternal aunts of Brittney Wood, a Mobile mother who went missing in 2012.

Defense attorneys Matthew Alan Seymore, representing Holland, and John Grow II, representing Kent, argued the $30,000 bond handed down by York effectively ensured the pair would remain in jail while awaiting a grand jury hearing to determine whether there is enough evidence to take them to trial.

The pair argued their clients are destitute and said their right to a reasonable bond was being violated.

Holland and Kent are facing one count each of second-degree sodomy. In addition, Kent faces one count of sex abuse of a child less than 12 years old.

Their cases were sent to a grand jury in November, although Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson said she doesn't expect the charges to be heard until 2014.

Grow said the $30,000 bond, which is on the high-end of the spectrum for such charges, is "excessive... for someone who doesn't have anything." He told York that Kent had been notified by a Department of Human Resources employee of pending charges four or five months before her arrest, pointing to her continued presence in the Mobile area as a sign that she was not looking to bolt.

He requested York lower her bond to $5,000 and require GPS monitoring upon her release.

In Baldwin County, Holland is facing charges of endangering the welfare of a child, first-degree sodomy, sexual torture and sex abuse. She was released on a reduced bond in those cases in June following multiple hearings on the matter. She has been required to wear a GPS monitoring device during her release.

Seymore requested York allow his client to leave jail on her own recognizance with GPS monitoring.

Patterson said defense attorneys were continuing to rehash the same arguments that kept either defendant from getting a reduced bond in the first place. In the meantime, officials have been gathering more evidence which points further to the defendants' guilt, she said, including testimony from three children and corroboration from others.

"As more and more evidence comes in to police officers, which happens daily," more charges are possible, Patterson said.

She said the defendants are accused of abusing "not one but numerous children, some of whom are now adults, some who are still children."

Seymore told York it was the first time he had heard of additional victims in the case and argued prosecutors still lacked physical evidence to support their claims.

York sided with Patterson and denied a bond reduction. Defense attorneys plan to continue to fight the decision.

Holland and Kent were arrested along with four others on Oct. 22. They remain in jail as of 11:30 a.m.

Two alleged child sex abuse suspects' bonds not lowered

MOBILE, Ala. (WALA) - Wendy Wood Holland and Mendy Wood Kent appeared before Judge Jay York Monday morning, November 25, asking for their bonds to be lowered.

The sisters, also twins, were most recently arrested by Mobile Police. Wendy Holland is charged with sodomy second degree. Mendy Kent is charged with sex abuse of a child less than 12-years-old and sodomy second degree.

Holland and Kent were among seven others recently charged in Mobile County. Holland also faces charges in Baldwin County.

With the most recent arrests, the judge set bond for the suspects at $30,000 for each class "B" felony and $60,000 for each class "A" felony.

Holland's bond is currently set at $30,000, while Kent's bond is $60,000.

While in court, Holland and Kent's attorneys argued the two needed to take care of their invalid mother. They also told the judge that their clients were no danger to society.

Assistant District Attorney Nicki Patterson fired back, saying no child is safe if Holland and Kent are not behind bars, given the nature of the crimes they are charged with.

Attorney seeks court ordered mental eval. for sex ring suspect

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. (WALA) - An attorney for one of 11 sex abuse suspects tied to missing mother Brittney Wood is asking for a court ordered mental evaluation of his client, Jennifer Moore.

Moore is the only woman and second person charged with production of pornography involving minors and second degree sex abuse.

She was arrested Friday, November 1 as part of an ongoing child sex ring investigation involving friends and family of the missing mother Brittney Wood.

In his motion for mental evaluation, attorney Brian Dasinger wrote that Moore “suffers from severe depression and has been diagnosed with several other psychological disorders that require prescription medication, almost none of which is currently being administered to her by the Baldwin County Jail.”

We reached out to Dasigner for more details but our call was not immediately returned.

FOX10 News uncovered Moore was an active leader with the Cub Scouts in Magnolia Springs at the time of her arrest.

THEODORE, Alabama -- Authorities with two Mobile County law enforcement agencies and volunteers with a foundation aimed at finding missing children searched private property in Theodore Friday in hopes of finding signs of a Mobile mother missing since 2012.

The Mobile County Sheriff's Office, volunteers with the Klaas Kids Foundation and the officers with the Mobile Police Department's Juvenile Division searched five acres in Theodore for Brittney Wood, now 21 years old, said Ashley Rains, public information officer for MPD.

The search was called off before 3 p.m. with no signs of the missing woman, although authorities plan to continue to search the area at an unspecified date in the future, Rains said.

Friday's search was prompted by a tip to authorities that they may find a body in an area in Theodore. Rains could not provide the exact location of the search.

"We've been following up on every tip that we get," Rains said. "(The Wood case) is still an active missing person case and we're going to take every credible lead we can follow."

She urged locals to stay attentive, particularly in wooded areas.

"If anybody sees anything suspicious, even if it's just clothing on the ground, call us," Rains said.

Wood was last seen wearing a blue tank top, blue jean shorts and white flip-flops. She was carrying a pink or teal tote bag.

“What we are doing is teaming up with klaas kids and following up on some anonymous tips that we have gotten and following up with those leads,” said Mobile Police Lt. Sonja McLeod.

Officers, deputies and volunteers from the Klaas Kids Organization search the area between Travis Road and Quimby Drive. But at the end of the day their search came up without discovery.

It’s an area familiar to investigators and one they have combed over before. Its right behind the home Brittney shared with here mother.

“I am ready to find my daughter, but I think I would have known if she was this close,” said Chessie Wood.

I stand with the girl, Natalee Holloway.

"I can look back over the past 10 years and there were no steps wasted, and there are no regrets,'' she said. "I did all I knew to do and I think that gives me greater peace now." "I've lived every parent's worst nightmare and I'm the parent that nobody wants to be," she said.

I cannot tell you how disgusting and evil this whole thing is.  I just read this thread from start to finish and I have never been more sick to my stomach.  I had not heard about this missing person and the circumstances surrounding her disappearance.  How awful what those kids have gone through with this group of "adults".  Sick, Sick, Sick is all I can say.

If you ask the wrong question, of course, you get the wrong answer. We find in design it’s much more important and difficult to ask the right question. Once you do that, the right answer becomes obvious.<br />Quote: Amory Lovins

ITA, Blue Moon, disgusting, evil, and sickening.

Heartbreaking for the victims.  And the other children of those charged in this case, are they all victims too?  What are their lives like now?

Your statement about not even knowing about Brittney, especially struck a chord with me.  One thing that I've thought about a lot over the past few days, something I've known about for a while but I'm not even sure it has ever been mentioned here.  Please don't throw bananas at me!  Dustin Kent is the brother of AJ McCarron's mother.  I can completely understand their wanting to distance themselves from this sickening mess, but I have to wonder if they couldn't have been instrumental in helping to get answers about what happened to Brittney; or at least brought more attention to the fact that SHE IS MISSING and needs to be found.

Dustin Kent's wife Mendy is the twin of Donnie Holland's wife Wendy, who most believe at least know (if she wasn't directly involved) what happened to Brittney.

Maybe AJ and his family were instructed by some "powers that be" to stay as far away from all of this as possible  There's no hiding the fact of the relation here, there is at least one obituary on the web that links them (and I haven't dug very deep).  Was the silence to distance themselves?  Or do they just not care?  There are plenty of touching articles with AJ helping others out there, would anyone have thought less of him if he had spoken out for Brittney?

I read this comment; and I have to agree with a lot of it.

I honestly don't know if this site is reputable or not, if it's not I apologize; but that doesn't change the concerns expressed in the "comment" imo.

Aj seems to be a pretty good guy. I totally get why people don't want him mentioned in this horrible story. But my problem with this story has been the lack of it being reported. These charges first came out in the summer of 2012. His cousin Brittney Wood, a young mother, has been missing for a year and a half. I live in the state of alabama and found out about this that same summer and learned that this was aj's extended family. I have noticed since then how little coverage this story has received. It seems the mobile paper has reported the bare minimum in an attempt to protect aj. I have even noticed comments deleted on articles that were written about kent, if aj was mentioned in the comment. I doubt they would protect anyone else in this way. Football trumps everything, even a young mother who has been missing for eighteen months. I have friends who are hardcore alabama fans, that can tell you every player and every stat, but have no idea about this. They look at me like I am making it up when I ask about it. They honestly have no idea their star quarterback has a missing cousin. Everyone knows who Natalee Holloway is, EVERYONE. Why? Because it was a tragic story and the media reported it. It got the word out and helped develop leads because everyone was concerned and wanted to find her. She could have been one of our daughters. Brittney Wood is no less of a person and has deserved that same urgency that Natalee received. Yet in this state, where football is king, no one knows who she is. Katherine Webb became an overnight celebrity just because of her relationship with aj. If aj told Brittney's story and asked the public for help, who knows what could have happened. I totally understand wanting to distance yourself from this horrible story but some things are more important. Everyone is right about this not being aj's fault that part of his family did these things. No one would have blamed him. How could you? But it's not Brittney's fault either. So why wouldn't you try to help? You have the college football world hanging on your every word and nothing is said. EVERYONE knows who dee dee bonner is and EVERYONE knows who katherine webb is and the one person who needs her name out there more than anyone (Brittney) is unknown. During the Penn State scandal, we as a society were disgusted that the safety of innocent children was ignored because it might have disrupted the religion that is Penn State football. Well I pray to God that the silence over the last 18 months is due to the advice from an attorney. Because if everyone that knew kept there mouth shut to keep the alabama crimson tide's dynasty intact..... then you are as guilty as those who knew in the Penn State case. I feel for aj and truly hate that he is having to go through this. I just wish the media or word of mouth, something, could have gotten Brittney's name out more. She is the real victim. She and her daughter deserved more and not sure why they didn't get it.

Gift: Before her arrest, Mendy Kent, Dustin's wife, posted a picture of a hand signed poster from McCarron on her Facebook account. It was deleted after charges were brought
