NEW ORLEANS - A woman whose body was dismembered and decapitated before washing up on a beach in Bay St. Louis, Miss., was believed to have left work with two people in New Orleans before she disappeared. On Thursday, body parts of Jaren Lockhart from Mid-City in New Orleans washed ashore after she was reported missing earlier in the week.

Authorities from Hancock County, Miss., are working with the New Orleans Police Department to view surveillance video from the day she disappeared. Lockhart was a dancer at a strip club on Bourbon Street, police said. According to investigators, two people are believed to have been with Lockhart when she left work before she vanished.

According to investigators, two people -- a man and a woman -- were with Lockhart when she left work before she vanished.

Hancock County Chief Deputy Don Bass said Lockhart's clothing washed up on the beach over the weekend. The clothes were identified by Lockhart's boyfriend, Bass said.
 
The boyfriend has been interviewed and is cooperating with investigators

Murder hits close to home for women in French Quarter

New Orleans, La. - Joy Sullivan says she was a dancer at Temptations about 11 years ago.  She says life working as an entertainer at a gentlemen's club can be dangerous. 

"Sometimes you get involved with drugs... and sometimes you meet men who are aggressive and you know, it's not a life," said Sullivan.

Sullivan left that life years ago, but still works in the area. 

"My safety?  Oh yes, I'm worried about my safety," Sullivan acknowledges.

Lockhart's longtime friend, Katrina Lucas Friedman, described her to The Times-Picayune as "smart, and very creative."

"She loved art and loved to write." It was through her drawings and poetry, Friedman said, that Lockhart expressed her feelings.

Friedman said Lockhart and her boyfriend had been together for nearly eight years since meeting when Lockhart was still in high school. The two have a 3-year-old daughter.

Lockhart frequently traveled between New Orleans and Hammond, where she had attended Hammond High School, Friedman said.

She described Lockhart as "a good mom who wanted to give her daughter everything she could."

The Hancock Co. Sheriff’s Department has released surveillance video showing two persons of interest in the grisly murder of dancer Jaren Lockhart.

The video shows Lockhart leaving with the man and woman.

Authorities said they won’t rule out anything as they continue to search for what happened to Lockhart. This includes whether these two people may know what happened to her or whether they may be in danger.

The couple arrived at Temptations at 1:47 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said, then left 17 minutes later with Lockhart.

BAY ST. LOUIS -- Hancock County Sheriff's investigators have released pictures and surveillance video of a couple last seen with Jaren Lockhart before her body parts surfaced on Mississippi beaches.

Officials said the couple are not suspects in Lockhart's death and they could be in danger also.

Chief Deputy Don Bass said Lockhart, 22, was last seen leaving Temptations, a Bourbon Street strip club where she was a dancer, early Wednesday at the end of her shift.

An unidentified man and woman were seen leaving the club with her early that morning.

Lawmen have theories but no suspects in dismembered woman case

BAY ST. LOUIS -- The Hancock County Sheriff's Office has scheduled a news conference today that may reveal information on a person of interest in the dismemberment of a New Orleans woman whose body parts began surfacing on Mississippi beaches last week.

The news conference is set for 1 p.m. at the Hancock County Public Safety Center in Bay St. Louis.

.   I'm speaking on behalf of my sister Hillary Moulder. She was found in her bathtub on March 8th in New Orleans , My sister is from the Coast .  . Her case is still open. I'm not going to give much details of her death but yes there is many unanswered questions her family wants to know answers too. Unfortunaltly the police did not listen to us and look into her case futher and now we believe Jarens death is related to Hillarys death . I pray the police , FBI .. or whom ever really stops this killer before someone else loses a loved one .I promise this though Hillarys family won't stop  until we get justice and also pray we get justice for Jaren .
