Officers found the body of a toddler inside a closet in a house on Squire Circle earlier this week.

"The medical examiner has ruled the boy was the victim of  homicide, caused by blunt force trauma" said Trooper Gary Fournier.

The body "was wrapped in blankets and clear plastic" he added.

Authorities believe the body is two-year old Justice Hooks. His mother, 33-year old Karen Hooks, is charged with abuse of a corpse.

Hooks' roommate called authorities because he hadn't seen the child in months.

UPDATE: Bail Increased for Dover Woman Charged with Abuse of Corpse

Jul 26, 2012

 ::snipping2::

On July 13, police contacted 33-year-old Karen Hooks who told them her son, Justice was being cared for by a female friend in Smyrna and Hooks denied she was ever pregnant.

Police couldn’t confirm Hook’s story and got a warrant to search her Dover home where they found a suspiciously wrapped package in a storage area shared by Hooks and a female roommate.  Human remains were found inside and taken to the ME for autopsy.

Bail for Hooks’ was initially set at $1,000; she’s now being held in lieu of $100,000 bail at the Baylor Women’s Correctional Center.
