Good evening monkeys.  It has been quite some time since I have posted.  I do check in on Shania's and Ha Leigh's threads, but like many, could not deal with the Caylee Anthony injustice.

I am sick about little Jessica Ridgeway.   I want to thank the monkeys for posting the link for the news, the conference, etc. 

I had to stop looking at the conference until it actually began,  I am so disgusted with adults being light hearted prior to this conference.  Adults should know better,   show respect,  act like caring human beings.

i think the school system, should put a call back from parents in place,
when they call that the child didnt come to school,if they dont get a call
back,the LE should do a welfare check, at least until,this monster is found

Westminster Police confirm the body found in Arvada is Jessica Ridgeway.

The confirmation came at a press conference this afternoon.

Police, state and federal investigators say they are now looking for a predator, and are asking the public to be vigilant.

Officers with Westminster police say people should look for anything suspicious or changes in neighbor's behavior.

Police say they have the expertise to investigate child abductions, and are working around the clock to find a suspect.

Officials say the priority is now justice for Jessica and arresting her killer.

The family has been notified. Officials offered condolences to Jessica's family and friends about this tragedy.

"This is not the closure we wanted," said Jessica's great uncle, Gary Moss, who lives in Independence, MO. "We were hoping she would make it home safe."
 
He described himself as relieved to know what happened to Jessica and said now laying her to rest. The focus now is finding the "monster," who killed her, Moss said

WESTMINSTER - The body found in Arvada has been positively identified as missing 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway.

Westminster Police Chief Kevin Baker announced Friday that the search for Jessica has turned into a mission for justice.
 
Baker says there is "child predator at large in the community" and his department will do everything in its power to find the suspect.

Upon receiving the news, Governor Hickenlooper released the following statement on Jessica Ridgeway:
 
"This is an unthinkable end to an unthinkable crime in our community. It is with a profound sense of sorrow that we learned of Jessica Ridgeway's death. On behalf of all of Colorado, we offer our deepest sympathies to her family and friends. The Colorado Department of Public Safety and other federal, state and local agencies involved in the case will continue to provide all of the support they can as the investigation continues."

I'm here in Colorado right now.  My son says the area that Jessica lives is nice (Westminster and Arvada).  It's all over the news here as you might imagine.  It's terrifying to think a monster is on the loose and they are probably someone in the community.

ABC News: Cell phone towers to be used in search for Jessica Ridgeway kidnapping suspect

WESTMINSTER, Colo. - Investigators hope cell phone records could lead to a break in the search for the person who abducted Jessica Ridgeway.

ABC News reports that they're checking records of cell phone towers near Jessica's home, the location in Superior where her backpack was found and the park in Arvada where a body was found. If a phone registered at all three towers, it could lead to a suspect

Police Not Ruling Out Possible Connection To Attempted Abduction Suspect

WESTMINSTER, Colo. (CBS4)- Police and other agencies investigating the disappearance of Jessica Ridgeway are not ruling out a possible connection to an attempted abduction suspect.

Police in Arvada have been investigating two cases of attempted abduction since Sept. 9. Now police in Westminster are taking a closer look at the case to see if there is a connection to Jessica’s disappearance.

On that day a child was approached by a stranger near Quaker Acres Park in Arvada. The stranger allegedly offered candy and asked the child to come to his car.

Three days later another child was approached by a similar stranger offering candy at Fitzmorris Elementary School.

Parents may want to be especially on guard on Halloween this year. The authorities had said they contacted schools in the area after the above referenced incident. Just curious, did the schools then turn around and tell all the parents the same info that there might be a predator in the area so that parents could take special precautions?

The news that Jessica's body was found not intact just made me even more ill than hearing the initial sad news. There is no punishment except for a public stoning that may be in order for the vicious creep that perpetrated this crime.

Because in our area the local school put out an alert that a predator attempted to kidnap a child.
I think parents need to be very careful -  there has been an awful lot of sudden predator attempts against children.
