AMBER ALERT for Missing 10 YO Jessica Ridgeway, Westminster, CO(BODY FOUND)

I may have missed this and please let me know if I did BUT here is my question - my understanding is Jessica lived with her mother, aunt and grandmother. I have not heard any of them say that Jessica was alive the night before. I have not heard the other two women say they heard Jessica get up in the morning and get off to school. WHY?  I keep thinking about Zarah and her being missing for some unknown time.

If these questions have been answered, please tell me!

I have no answers...but, I have more questions. 

Was J.R. missing, eight hrs. or 24 hrs.? 

This stinks to high Heaven.

Someone would have remembered the bright pink Barbie backpack, unless she was nabbed immediately.  Everyone knows Barbie!  The backpack would have been ingrained in almost anyone's memory blank, IMO.  Either JR never walked out of the door that morning, or she  was snagged instantly.   This Stinks!!

I don't believe Jessica had a Barbie backpack. I never read that. I did, however read several times that it was a black and pink backpack with the word, "Victorious" on it.

Jessica's mother — who works the night shift — reported seeing her daughter leave the house at about 8:30 a.m. wearing a black-and-pink jacket, blue jeans, purple eyeglasses and fuzzy boots and carrying a backpack with the word "Victorious" etched on the back.

I looked that up a while ago and found this, thinking it probably was similar to this one:



I am not up on the current children's popular fashion trends, so I looked it up.

So, not a Barbie backpack, Seahorse.

And I feel she did leave her home that morning, just as her mother said. JMO.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. - The Jefferson County coroner's office has finished its autopsy on 10-year-old Jessica Ridgeway, who was abducted blocks from her home and found dead last week.

However, the report on her cause of death may take weeks.

That's because coroner John Graham told 7NEWS he is waiting for blood work and chemical tests results.

The girl's remains were found last Wednesday at an Arvada open space park. Police said the body was not "intact." Sources told 7NEWS her body had been dismembered and pieces of her body are still missing.

AirTracker 7 flew over the area shortly after the body was discovered. AirTracker video showed that the remains were found near a culvert, and had been placed on a black plastic bag when investigators were looking at it. It's not clear if the body had been in the bag.

The remains were found by maintenance workers who were doing routine cleanup of the culvert.

DENVER - A public memorial service for Jessica Ridgeway is set for Tuesday night at Faith Bible Chapel in Arvada.

Two weeks ago, only family, friends and classmates knew Jessica Ridgeway. Her disappearance and the heartbreaking news of her death left many people around the state and nation mourning.

Jessica's family says the service will be a happy one, celebrating her life.

Governor John Hickenlooper and Westminster Police Chief Lee Birk are slated to speak at the memorial service.

"She lived her life the way we should, one day at a time, smiling during as many moments as possible," her cousin Nicholas Pesavento said. "I'd like to make sure that still happens."

The service begins at 7 p.m. Space is limited, only to 3,600 seats. The service will be streamed live on 9NEWS.com.

Faith Bible Chapel is located at 12189 West 64th Avenue in Arvada.

On Justice Quest there is a friend of the dad's who is posting there.  He has 5 girls but I think two were adopted out.  He was never married to Sarah Ridgeway.  I didn't think so since Jessica went by her mother's last name.  The media had that WRONG!

Not sure, but I think so, since it was said Jessica lived with her mother, aunt and grandmother, I believe. Siblings were never mentioned.

The girl lives with her mother, grandmother and aunt at 10768 Moore Street in the town of nearly 13,000.

not to side track you from Jessica's service,but i do have some concerns about that morning
so Jessica called,the boy,but she usually,meets friends at the pk to walk,so during that phone
call,did they decide no walking going to get a ride,by the boys dad,and would they be driving
all the friends that are met at the park,and why didnt the father wonder about Jessica not
showing up,and question it,and if the boys father did question it,why didnt the boy,
remember that,instead of thinking Jessica was at school,and,Jessica meeting the boy to
walk to school,that morn,was that unusual, from the meet friends,to walk to school, did she
meet one friend a couple of times a week,and the rest of the time she met friends
im thinking this is all bad reporting,and in hindsight not a good thing now that we know how
heinous this crime is,and the folks of those towns are prob freaking out now

At 8:40 — 10 minutes before the school bell rings — Jessica had not arrived. The boy climbed into a car with his father and headed to school, according to dispatch tapes from Westminster police.

Police first went to the family home. Officers went to Witt Elementary. They found the boy who usually walks with Jessica — who at first told officers that he had walked with her that day and saw her enter the school building. He later realized that he had mixed up the days.

Materasso said Ridgeway and her friends normally meet three blocks away at Chelsea Park and walk another 1.3 miles to Witt Elementary School, but on that morning, friends said she never showed up.
