Man charged in Oklahoma City killing was questioned in Weatherford teen's disappearance
December 4, 2012

NORMAN — Three people — including a man questioned about the recent disappearance of Weatherford teen Jaray Mickell Wilson — were charged with first-degree murder late last week in Cleveland County in connection with the September shooting death of 23-year-old Jonathan Patton.
Patton was found dead inside a known drug house in far south Oklahoma City after another man showed up at a hospital with gunshot wounds.
Gilbert Paz, Kurtis Blake Southerland and Stacy Lafern Buckmaster were each charged with first-degree murder Friday in Cleveland County District Court.
Paz, 37, and Southerland, 26, also were charged with shooting with intent to kill, court records show.
A judge set bail at $1 million for each of the defendants.
Southerland was being held at the Cleveland County jail, while Paz and Buckmaster were in custody at the Custer County jail.

Girl still missing
Paz has been in the news recently after he was questioned in the disappearance of Jaray Wilson, 16, who was last seen Oct. 15.
Custer County Sheriff Bruce Peoples told The Oklahoman in October that Paz was questioned because “his name kept coming up” during interviews with Wilson's friends and acquaintances.
Peoples said there was speculation among those same sources that Jaray Wilson may have been a victim of human trafficking, but investigators were unable to link Paz to the girl's disappearance.

Paz has been arrested several times in Oklahoma since 2003, including two weapons charges.

Weatherford Community Raises Money for Missing Teen's Family
December 6, 2012

WEATHERFORD, OK-- Dozens of community members gather to raise funds for a missing teen's family.  Jaray Wilson has been missing since October 15.  Authorities believe the 16-year old may have fallen victim to human trafficking.
 ::snipping2::
Community members spent Sunday afternoon at a chili and hot dog dinner at Pioneer Center in Weatherford to help raise money in The Wilson Family's search efforts.

"You just can't imagine what they're going through," said Tim Snider, a family friend who attended the dinner.

The Wilsons have been traveling across the state, hanging flyers, and hoping to find Jaray.  Snider says although it's been nearly two months, he remains hopeful authorities will find the missing teen.

"We see God in this situation, that he'll bring JaRay back home to us," said Snider.

Vigil Marks Two Months Since Weatherford Teen Went Missing
December 15, 2012

The Weatherford community gathered to support JaRay Wilson's family Saturday night, with a candlelight vigil on Main Street.

Saturday marked two months since JaRay, 16, went missing.  The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics believes she may have been taken unwillingly and could be a victim of human trafficking.

"We just want to keep everyone aware that she's is still missing and that we still want her home," Jara Wilson, JaRay's mother said.

More flyers will make it across the country as a result of the vigil. Supporters released yellow balloons into the sky.  Each contained a flyer with JaRay's information.

"Maybe it will land somewhere where someone, where she may be. There may be someone who hasn't even seen it yet," Jara said.

The Wilson family has spent the last two months traveling the state hanging flyers and searching for JaRay.  Billboards across Oklahoma also flash the girl's picture and information.

The only suspect in the case named by law enforcement, Gilberto Paz, was cleared.

If you know anything about this case or have seen JaRay, call 911.

The family is taking donations to help support their search. You can make donation to the reward fund here.

JaRay Wilson Fund Theft
January 7, 2013

A family trying to raise money to find their missing teen says they became the victims of fraud. The parents of JaRay Wilson say someone stole from them during their greatest time of need.

JaRay Wilson has been missing since October. Since then, a lot of people have stepped up to try to help JaRay's parents find her. But after some money went missing, JaRay's parents think one of those people is a scam artist.
 ::snipping2::
Around a month after JaRay disappeared, the Wilson family says a man contacted them on Facebook and offered to help them start a fund to keep the search going.

"But he said I'll put everything under your name and give you all the passwords and everything so you can take care of it," said Jara.

Jara says the fund raised more than $1,000 but she has not received one-cent.

"We tried to go on there the other day and there's no, it's not there any more," said Jara.

Fox 25's Marisa Mendelson emailed the man who's accused of taking the money. He emailed back and said he sent the check to the "wrong post office box" and the family will have the check "by the end of the week." However, Jara does not buy it.

"I don't because he's said it before," said Jara.

Meanwhile, the Custer County Sheriff's Office is investigating and the alleged do-gooder gone bad could face criminal charges.

"It depends on if the individual comes through with what he stated, that he's going to provide the money that was collected through the site that he had set up," said Sheriff Bruce Peoples.

Sheriff Bruce Peoples says to be cautious when setting up a charity account or donating to one. Make sure it's legitimate.

"The internet system, the social media system is a vast opportunity for people to obtain money under false pretenses," said Sheriff Peoples.

"If you want to do it, do it yourself," said Jara.

The Wilson family plans to let us know if they end up getting the money.

If you have any information about where JaRay Wilson is, call the Human Trafficking Tip Line at 1-855-617-2288.

One Arrested In Connection With Disappearance Of Weatherford Teen
December 17, 2013

Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics agents said they arrested 19-year-old Tucker McGee in connection with the murder of 16-year-old Jaray Wilson.

OBN's Human Trafficking Unit investigated the disappearance of Jaray Wilson for 14 months. Information developed from more than 100 interviews in the case led agents to a wooded area two miles north of the Weatherford airport on Monday.
Agents began a search of the area on Tuesday morning and uncovered skeletal remains.

Authorities did not confirm the remains belonged to Wilson, but agents indicated it's likely.

"If we've come this far we obviously have some reliable information," Weaver said the Medical Examiner is now working to identify the remains.

Forensic investigators conducted a search of the wooded area for much of the day. Meanwhile, OBN agents turned their efforts toward 19-year-old Tucker McGee, now a suspect in the murder of Jaray Wilson.

Agents did not reveal where the tip about McGee's involvement came from, but say it led to McGee's arrest and the discovery of the remains.

Court records show McGee was arrested for possession of drugs and paraphernalia one month after his alleged involvement in Wilson's murder.

McGee's Facebook page show he was friends with Jaray, but authorities did not reveal what, if any, interaction the two had before her disappearance.

McGee has been booked in at the Custer County Jail. OBN spokesperson Mark Woodward said "more arrests are possible."
