"Thanksgiving Celebrates Our 'Original Sin,' 'Views Virtually Identical To Nazis,' Journalism Prof Preaches"

Quote
Forget all that turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie, today should be a day of fasting and atonement for American “sin.” That’s according to Robert Jensen, a journalism professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Jensen, known for his hard-left politics, also calls Thanksgiving a “white-supremacist holiday.”

How is it possible that the original colonies were not destroyed by the indigenous people?  It seems to me the white refugees must have been good people to survive in a land of foreigners.  The original settlers lived communally and almost perished - no one wanted to tend the community garden.  Why work when you can live off the labor of others?  Neighbors?

Later, while starving, the leader gave everyone their own plot of land and indicated they needed to be accountable to themselves for food and the necessities.  Apparently, 'all in this together' wasn't working.  It was everyone for themselves.  After the first year of personal responsibility, there was so much food, great abundance, they shared with the locals.  It was a feast of Thanksgiving.

Is life better when neighbors always expect to share the labor of others?  Is it better when no one willingly works for the community?  Is it better to steal from your neighbor than to be responsible for your own needs?

For some reason, these people were not killed by the natives, they survived to share their bounty, their abundance, and their community.

Quote
Jensen’s opinion piece “No Thanks for Thanksgiving,” appeared on the far-left, Soros-connected website Alternet on Thanksgiving eve. In it, he wrote how Native Americans suffered because of the “European invasion of the Americas.” He went on to compare the Founding Fathers to Nazi Germany. “How does a country deal with the fact that some of its most revered historical figures had certain moral values and political views virtually identical to Nazis?” he asked.

Today, that same land is being invaded by a group known as 'illegal aliens'.  The mostly come from Mexico.  Did their ancestors own this land?  "The Mexican Invasion of the USA"...

Would it have been less of an invasion if instead of Europeans it was the foreign people of Mexico that 'invaded'?  I recall that yesterday's indigenous people had slavery, engaged in wars with neighbors, and alliance.  I recall that they forged alliances with foreigners to gain land, guns, and political power and advantages.  Sounds a lot like what is going on today.

The US government arms dangerous drug gangs and cartels.  Foreigners are invading the land against the law and for some reason those in government refuse to enforce the laws.   Some states have tried to enforce the immigration law and guess what?  When laws are enforced, people obey them.  Various factions of government form alliances with the invading groups and seem to give away welfare benefits, seemingly stealing food, housing, labor, land, and wealth from today's indigenous people.

If the invasion by Europeans was wrong hundreds of years ago, is the invasion today by Mexicans and others wrong?  The real time invasion and destruction of a great nation?

Why aren't politicians stopping it?  Enforcing the law?  Just saying 'NO' to those that come illegally?  The Mexican invasion?

Quote
According to Jensen, Thanksgiving is “at the heart of U.S. myth-building. “But in the United States, this reluctance to acknowledge our original sin -- the genocide of indigenous people -- is of special importance today,” he explained.

What of the genocide of today's indigenous people?  Why should any American welcome illegal aliens when no one welcomed the Pilgrims hundreds of years ago?  Denigrates their children?  Grandchildren?  All people with 'white' skin?

Why aren't progressives acknowledging the racism being instituted today?  The sins of today's political class?

link for OP http://cnsnews.com/blog/dan-gainor/thanksgiving-celebrates-our-original-sin-views-virtually-identical-nazis-journalism  thefoxnation.com also had a reference to this story.

What of the slaves brought to this country?  For some reason, whites always seem to get the blame.  IIRC, from my education, the Pilgrims lived in a time when most humans lived in slavery--there were few 'free' people anywhere.

What about all those Africans brought as slaves?  I recall that some were free people in America.  The first to die in the revolution was black - Crispus Attucks.  Apparently, this man was also one of the earliest revolutionaries...

Quote
...A body of citizens had been formed nearby, and came
pushing violently through the street then called Cornhill, around into
King Street. They were armed only with clubs, sticks, and pieces of ice,
but on they came. Nothing daunted, they went up to the points of the
soldiers' bayonets. The long pent-up feeling of resentment against a
foreign soldiery was finding a vent. This was the time and the
opportunity to teach tyrants that freemen can at least strike back,
though for the time they strike in vain.

At the head of this body of citizens was a stalwart colored man, Crispus
Attucks. He was the leading spirit of their body, and their spokesman.
They pressed the British sorely on all sides, making the best use of
their rude arms, crying, "They dare not strike!" "Let us drive them
out!"
...

 ::snipping2::

From time to time Attucks' voice could be heard urging his companions
on. Said he, "The way to get rid of these soldiers is to attack the main
guard; strike at the root! This is the nest!"
At that time some one gave
the order to fire...Crispus Attucks, James Caldwell, and Samuel Gray were
killed outright. Attucks fell, his face to the foe, with two bullets in
his breast.

"From that moment we may date the severance of the British Empire. The patriotic fires
kindled in the breasts of those earnest and true men, upon whose necks
the British yoke never sat easily, never were quenched after that
massacre, until the invader had been driven from the land and
independence had been achieved. The sight of the blood of their comrades
in King Street quickened their impulses, and hastened the day for a
more general outbreak, which we now call the Revolutionary War." This
was no mob, as some have been disposed to call it. They had not the low
and groveling spirit which usually incites mobs. This was resistance to
tyranny; this was striking for homes and firesides; this was the noblest
work which a patriot can ever perform.
As well call Lexington a mob and
Bunker Hill a mob. I prefer to call this skirmish in King Street on the
5th of March, 1770, as Anson Burlingame called it, "The dawn of the
Revolution."

Where did all these black people come from?  I watched the movie "Amistad", based on historical facts.  The lead person, a black man from Africa tells his story of enslavement.  Apparently, another black man, from Africa clubbed him on the head, tied him up, and sold him to slavers.  The captive offered to share the harvest from his farm.  Offer not accepted.  After a horrific journey, they are put up for sale.  Due to legal questions about ownership, he fights for freedom and wins after a court battle.  He returns home, his farm is gone, his family is gone...

Where is all the latent outrage at the Africans that sold these people into slavery?  The demands for reparations from Africa?

Where is the grievance register for claims by white against wrong doing by historical blacks?

It always seems to be about stealing from others.  Stealing their land, farms, destroying families.  Why work when you can live off the labor of others?

Today, politicians are clubbing Americans every day.  Inviting a new invasion force with lots of freebies from the indigenous people.  Some call this 'vote' buying.

Was it really an invasion hundreds of years ago?  It seems like the same thing is happening today.  Is it only an invasion when they blame it on white people?

Politicians want 91% tax rates.  Really?  Seems to feel that folks should be grateful and accept the crumbs from the fruit of their labor...politicians somehow deserve or are entitled to 99.9%.

Hundreds of years ago, a black man who appreciated freedom recognized the threat of tyranny.  He stood up for his rights and was martyred.

Apparently many today would rather live off the backs of others and perpetuate the enslavement of a nation for a few crumbs.

Years ago they eliminated 'poll' taxes.  Some felt they kept people from voting.

Today, we have death taxes.  It seems like they are a way for government to steal the hard labor of others.  Steal the land, steal the business, steal the legacy of hard working people

It seems like taxes are bad things.  Why do they keep going up?  A sign of expanding corruption?  Illegitimate government?  Thieving?

People don't respect our laws.  Politicians don't respect our laws.  Government is not enforcing the law.  Just making up excuses to take more and more from working people.

‘Dr. Doom’s’ Post-Election Asset Protection Advice: Skip the Gun, Get a Tank"

Quote
According to “Dr. Doom,” President Obama’s re-election is a “negative for the economy,” the “standards of living of people in the western hemisphere will continue to decline,” it may become necessary in the future to protect one’s assets “with a gun, a machine gun … or perhaps a tank,” and President Obama may not be able to make it through his full term because “there will be so many scandals” since “there is so much smoke, there must be some fire!”

Of course, to be fair, Faber also said that he didn’t think a Romney presidency would have been much better for the economy. However, he did note that Republicans seem to be a lot more concerned with the nation’s debt than the president and his followers.

Faber becomes particularly fiery at around the 07:30 mark, but you’ll want to watch everything leading up to that point for context:

watch video here - http://www.theblaze.com/stories/dr-dooms-post-election-asset-protection-advice-skip-the-gun-get-a-tank/

"Obama a disaster for business...for the United States...debt escalates endlessly..."

'market drops 20% next 6 months...'

'problem more regulation...higher taxes...economy very negative...Bernanke...money printing...high corporate earnings...minimum drop 20%'

'cosmetic tax increases & spending, backloaded 10 years from now.'

'already in recession nine months ago'

'guy a gun, a machine gun...guy a tank'

'we have manipulated markets...unintended consequences...election of Obama...benefits not the 1%, but the 1/4 of the 1%...the elite of Wall Street...Bernanke enables them to be profiteers...'

'cost of living increases will exceed income gains'

' "There are two ways to conquer and enslave a nation. One is by the sword. the other is by debt." '

Obama solution?  Higher taxes on the 'wealthy'.  Problem?  The 1/4 of the 1% have their slush fund and don't really have a connection to the taxes...they seem to get it all back and more.

Is Barack Obama a modern day Crispus Attucks?  Fighting for liberty?  Fighting for free men?  Ending obnoxious taxation?

People born with a silver spoon in their mouth and coddled forever, seem to think 'giving back' means they should steal from others and do their perfect union and 'good deeds'.  They've never earned a living, they've never made a payroll, and seem clueless about how wealth is created.  They always seem to think other people have more and for some reason they need to have it confiscated/taxed/regulated away.

Crispus Attucks knew slavery first hand.  He was among the first to identify tyranny and fight back.  Is Barack Obama the second coming of Crispus Attucks?

Didn't anyone tell the ruling class in America stealing is sin?  The 1/4 of 1%?  Where does all that money from the Fed go?  Feeding the hungry?  Or feeding the insatiable greed of the 1/4 of 1%?  Those hidden behind the doors of the world's biggest 'private' bank?

Didn't anyone tell the ruling class in America coveting things that belong to others is a sin?

Didn't anyone tell the ruling class in America stealing other peoples labor and savings is a very bad thing?  Un-American?

America needs good men and women like Crispus Attucks.

"RACIAL TENSION COUPLED WITH MASSIVE BRAWL FORCES HAWAII HIGH SCHOOL TO TEMPORARILY CLOSE"

Quote
Immigrants from the Federated States of Micronesia are a small but fast-growing group in Hawaii as a result of a 1986 pact that allows citizens from three Pacific Island nations to come to the United States in exchange for allowing the U.S. to use defense sites.

 ::snipping2::

According to U.S. Census data, 17.5 percent of its nearly 12,000 residents were born outside the United States, with one-quarter of families speaking a language other than English at home. The median household income as of 2011 was less than $61,000, with 10.5 percent of people living below poverty levels.

Immigration from the Federated States of Micronesia, along with the Republic of Palau and the Republic of the Marshall Islands has been a source of tension for some residents in Hawaii, the closest U.S. state to the Pacific islands.

In the 2010 fiscal year, Hawaii spent more than $52 million on health care, welfare, public housing and homeless support for more than 17,000 migrants from the compact. In addition, education costs were more than $55 million.

Sounds like the complaints of American citizens when it comes to illegal aliens.  American citizens are called racists when they object to illegals.

What are these people?  Racist students?  All Pacific Islanders?

Another story - http://westhawaiitoday.com/sections/news/local-news/kealakehe-high-closed-today-after-two-days-fights-8-students-arrested.html

from the comments -

Quote
I was a freshman at Kaiser High in Honolulu's Hawaii Kai area in the late 1970s and I know too well that the locals are the most intolerant people in high school. I was subjected to racial taunts, being called a name other than my own and having objects thrown at me and bullies slapping my head. Even the girls were just as ugly as the guys if not more so. I remember students of Japanese descent were a favorite target of the racist locals. Twice racist graffiti was sprayed on the science building. The first was "Tokyo Terrace" and the second was "Squid City". There were also crude caricatures of Japanese people sprayed as well. There was one class in particular (World Cultures for freshman, second period) in which the entire classroom would gang up on me and the stupid teacher would do nothing about it. Many times the idiot teacher would show films and leave the classroom, giving my classmates an opportunity to harass me. Yet, public high school teachers complain they're not getting paid enough and it is also a fact that the locals, unlike the rest of us, are more dependent on federal aid. I should also add it wasn't my choice to temporary live in Hawaii. The most racist and intolerant people in Hawaii are the locals.

Quote
August 1st my life changed for the worst when my freshman daughter started Kealakehe High School. Moving 4,500 miles from Florida she loved 7th & 8th grade at Kealakehe Middle School. Two haole girl bullies made her life a living h-e-l-l anyway the police were called. One senior bully backed off the other mentally unstable one (sent to Maui psych. hospital after trying to commit suicide) continued finally getting suspended for fighting & losing to a local girl. Another haole girl attempted suicide at this school by swallowing over the counter meds. so she was shipped to Oahu to a psych. hospital. Every day at that high school there is scrapping so the police sometimes come twice a day. I think the school administration mostly Asians are much too nice to run the school. At the middle school the haole male principal is a drill sergeant just his look at me a parent he makes me feel like I did something. I witnessed time after time the rude students at the high school use profanity dropping the "f" word to the adm. so it's time to start a boot camp. First suggestion make sure the dress code is followed daily then once a student becomes a bully start suspending out of school suspension not in school then expel them. Finally tons of students are skipping classes dish out some consequences just a phone call by a robot isn't enough.

This was the 'racist' society Obama's white grandmother had to endure to support her grandchildren.  No gratitude.  For some reason, in Obama's mind, only white's are capable of racism.
