Why should any foreigner producing an anchor baby (citizen by birth) in the US get on the path to citizenship?

In other countries, they require lots of paper work from future immigrants, are selective, and just say 'no' to many.  The receiving country is in charge.  The US and Canada, iirc, are the only nation to allow 'birthright citizenship'.  Other countries deport illegal aliens.  Other countries have paid past immigrants to leave and never come back.  Some times, the 'immigrant's do not assimilate and cause more problems than their contributions to the nation.

When does it end?  Why shouldn't immigration reform start with ending birthright citizenship?

When does it end?  The welfare state cannot survive with open borders and criminals constantly taking advantage of good people.

"70 protest alleged 'maternal hotel' in Chino Hills"

Brightly colored signs reading "Not in Chino Hills" and "No Birth Tourism" decorated the intersection of Peyton Avenue and Chino Hills Parkway for more than two hours.

"These woman are coming to the United States under false pretenses...They are finding out about this through a website that instructs them on how to come legally, but that is under false pretenses," said Kelly Good, one of the protesters and a 20-year resident of Chino Hills.

"They are pregnant and their goal is to have a baby here in the United States so that the child can be a United States citizen," Good said.

Protester Sandy Hayden said that the hilltop house is producing people who will "infiltrate our country."

The children born there will grow up in China and return to the United States to attend college, taking precious college slots away from U.S citizens, she said.

Why aren't Americans deciding who gets to come here?  Why aren't these foreigners respecting the existing process?

How many jobs do those here illegally take from Americans?

"The Pizza Chase: Unthinking, Clueless and Stupid Is No Way To Go Through Life"

Quote
In 2011, Palermo's Pizza - a great local company - was alerted by U.S. Immigration officials that there were residency issues with about 85 of their employees.  When the employees were unable to provide appropriate documentation, they were let go. Had Palermo's continued to have employed workers knowing that they were not legally able to work, Palermo's would have been subject to severe fines from the U.S. government.

Enter immigrant "rights" group Voces de la Frontera.  When Palermo's reached out to the group to see if they could help the impacted employees obtain proper documentation, Voces responded by circulating a petition seeking to unionize employees!  There is some suggestion that Voces told employees that being in a union would protect their jobs regardless of their immigration status! Yeah, right.

How many of those jobs could have gone to welfare families in Milwaukee?  Families in a vicious cycle of poverty?

Quote
::snipping2::A decision last week by the National Labor Relations Board mostly vindicated the pizza company in their firings. It found that a handful of workers were retaliated against and fired for crossing picket lines, but those 75 employees were justly terminated because they lacked legal work documents.

“It is against the law to continue to employ any person that the government has identified as being ineligible to work in the United States,” a Palermo’s official said.

How many times is this scenario repeated across the US?  How many jobs are taken from Americans?

Why would anyone choose welfare over work?

Quote
Nobody wins when a company closes its doors. It’s even more tragic when a company’s own employees’ unwillingness to negotiate in good faith caused the business’s demise.
 ::snipping2::
Palermos wants to rehire their displaced workers. But if they do so without meeting ICE requirements, they will be in violation of Federal law. In addition, the majority of Palermo’s employees don’t want a union. That’s why Voces de la Frontera has not allowed the company to vote on the establishment of a union. If the vote were taken today, the union would lose.

These are several cases where union goons, radical activists, and unthinking employees are willing to damage the employment opportunities of their own members, destroy the employment opportunities of minorities, and destroy the businesses of good corporate citizens for the sake of maintaining their political muscle.

For some reason, it seems like the jobs end up going to Mexico, China, or elsewhere...they don't really disappear.  To bad, so sad, no jobs for Americans.

How do other nations treat their LEGAL immigrants?

"British family to be deported from New Zealand because of brain tumour "

Quote
Paul and Sarah Crystal and their children, aged 7, 15 and 17, moved to New Zealand more than six years ago but their application for permanent residency was turned down because the government was concerned about his inability to work and the treatment cost.

Mr Crystal, from Evesham, who has been given a 20 per cent chance of surviving the next three years, said the family was now "stuck" between Britain and New Zealand. They cannot afford air travel back to Britain but cannot stay in New Zealand without access to welfare benefits, he said.

Quote
"We note that both Mr and Mrs Crystal have immediate family living outside New Zealand. As British citizens it would be appropriate for the family to approach the British High Commission for any support they require."

Imagine if the US had rules like this and applied them to illegal aliens and their families.  How much less would the welfare tab be?

How much less would the healthcare system cost if all this 'free' care was eliminated from other people's rates?
