Jack had fake ID and was drinking under age
Jack was more than likely over served and by all accounts extremely drunk
Jack urinated off a balcony which got him tossed from the bar
The Frat brothers insist Jack was alone with the bouncer when he was taken out

From everything reported I think the establishment would have a lot more to lose and greater reason to colour the story of what happened that night then the ΣΑΕ brothers.

Were there no cameras outside that would show what happened between Jack and the Bouncer once he was escourted out?  I can not get a good view of the building from Google Maps to see if there are cameras outside or to check out other businesses in the complex that may have cameras pointing in that direction.

Reviews of the business are not great.  Biggest complaint is about bad food and worse management.

https://plus.google.com/115381643389537487361/about?gl=ca&hl=en#115381643389537487361/about?gl=ca&hl=en

If Jack was pledging to ΣΑΕ then he would have been assigned a Big Brother.  Why did he not go looking for Jack when he was escourted out? or when he did not get on the bus back to the residences?

So many questions with only hope that they can find Jack sooner rather than later.  All JMO.

Vigil held at Tempe Marketplace for missing student

TEMPE, Ariz. - Tempe Police have not turned up anything of note while searching Tempe Town Lake and the surrounding area for a missing ASU student

 ::snipping2::

Jack's stepmother located a lone shoe down an embankment by the lake.

By its appearance, it seems to be something Jack would wear and has worn, but DNA results will ultimately confirm whether or not it belonged to him.

"I have seen him wearing those shoes," said Alex Culolias, Jack's twin brother. "And those shoes weren't at his dorm, so he was probably wearing those shoes that night. I don't think he's in the lake, I'm hoping he's not in the lake and we're hoping he's out there just wandering around not knowing what's going on."

Upon the discovery of the shoe, Tempe Police brought in search dogs to track Jack's scent, but they were unsuccessful in finding any trace of him around the area. Sundown hit, and the search resumed Wednesday morning.

 ::snipping2::

Sgt. Pooley could not confirm if Cadillac Ranch had been serving Jack alcohol, but did note that  Jack owned a fake ID.

Unfortunately, surveillance video from Cadillac Ranch doesn't contribute many clues. It's of poor quality, and there are so many people there, it is hard to pick Jack out.

"Our investigators are working with the different people who were the last to see Jack. I can't go into specifics -- this is an ongoing investigation," said Pooley.

That includes the staff at the bar who escorted him out.

Bar where ASU student went missing releases statement

 ::snipping2::

His mother, Grace Culolias, said her 19-year-old son had been drinking prior to arriving at the bar, but there is evidence he may have been served alcohol there as well.

"He had his credit card there and it had and $8 tab on it," she said. "I'm sure it was for only one cocktail."

Cadillac Ranc refused to comment on the allegation that Culolias was served.

Information released by police suggests the student was intoxicated and was kicked out of the establishment. From that point, no one has seen or heard from him.

Police said they have searched the missing teen's campus suite and have spoken with his suitemates.

"At this point, the detectives have talked to several of the fraternity members and they are still trying to contact more people that may know of Jack's whereabouts or who saw him last," said Tempe police spokesman Michael Poole.

Police said at this point, there is no reason to believe there is any foul play.

TEMPE, AZ (KABC) -- There's growing concern for the fate of a college student from Brea who's been missing since he left a bar outside Phoenix nearly a week ago.

Overnight, distraught family and friends came together for a vigil for Arizona State University freshman Jack Culolias, who has been missing since Friday night.

"I don't know what to do," said Grace Culolias, Jake's mother.

Grace Culolias of Brea is desperate for answers and willing to do anything to find her 19-year-old son, who was last seen at a bar called Cadillac Ranch in Tempe Marketplace. Jake, who was said to be very intoxicated, was allegedly kicked out of the bar and left his cellphone and credit cards behind.

 ::snipping2::

There was a rumor that they were gonna put them in a garage, 30 of them, and make them live in this garage," Grace Culolias said.

In a statement to ABC News, the fraternity said Sigma Alpha Epsilon "takes a very strong stance on hazing and has zero tolerance for it."

His mother reported him missing to Arizona police before searching for him herself with family and friends. What she found in the riverbed behind a nearby shopping center is likely the most significant clue found yet.
"I washed his tennis shoes on Thanksgiving, so I know what they look like."

"I got alarmed the moment I saw the shoe," Grace Culolias said. "I washed his tennis shoes on Thanksgiving, so I know what they look like."

Police have few clues and haven't yet confirmed that the shoe officially belongs to the missing victim. Authorities said they had boats patrolling the area looking for him but to no avail yet.

"I'm just scared," Grace Culolias said. "He's my youngest son."

Can you imagine this poor family?  Mom finds his shoe by the water.  Twin brother is reminder of the son that is missing.  Frat boys keep saying he was escorted out.  Only 8 bucks on the credit card.  Just doesn't look good.

Could this have been a dollar beer type of night?  Otherwise, how could he have been that drunk on only 8 bucks?

Sometimes folks start drinking before going to a lounge or restaurant.  Or others could have bought him drinks etc.  Just some possibilities.

Family wants answers in search for missing ASU student .
Posted on December 5, 2012 at 10:03 PM

Updated today at 10:27 PM

TEMPE, Ariz. -- As fraternity brothers, friends and family of Jack Culolias band together, a long list of questions remain in the search for the missing ASU freshman.

“I want the true story,” his stepmother Renae Culolias told 3TV.

His family pleaded with Tempe police Wednesday afternoon to bring in additional resources.

“We want the FBI involved and we want some answers,” said Renae Culolias. “If it was your son or daughter, you’d feel the same way; there’s something wrong."

Culolias, 19, was last seen at a Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity event at Cadillac Ranch at Tempe Marketplace Friday night.  Police believe he was escorted out, but where he went next is still unknown, according to detectives.

“There are so many different stories, we don’t know which way to go,” said Grace Culolias, Jack’s mother.

 ::snipping2::

Police also say surveillance video from Cadillac Ranch has not been helpful due to the number of people at the restaurant that night.  A spokeswoman with Cadillac Ranch says the business is fully complying with the investigation, but she won’t go into details about the circumstances under which Jack left.  Frat brothers insist he was alone, as he was brought out by a bouncer.

With the conflicting stories coming from the probably super intoxicated frat bros. it is very possible a bouncer got carried away with a very drunk college student. That one bouncer may be covering his azz and the frat can't piece together what they didn't see. I would question the bouncer and the Ranch much more!

Jack Culolias: Clairvoyant Joins Search for Missing Arizona State University Student
December 9, 2012
A psychic has offered her services to help locate missing college student Jack Culolias, whose family is desperate to bring the 19-year-old home in time for the holidays.

The Arizona State University student was last seen being escorted out of the Cadillac Ranch bar at Tempe Marketplace on Nov. 30 during a fraternity event.

Melinda Vail, a Tempe psychic, heard about the case and offered her services to the Culolias family, she told ABC News' Phoenix affiliate.

Vail said she has been able to provide Tempe police with specific information, but she declined to publicly say whether she believes Culolias is dead, out of respect to his family.

"I'm getting names of people both living and dead," Vail said. "They are pieces to a puzzle."

Does the club not have security cameras on the doors or parking area?  Wouldn't it make sense to have cameras trained on those areas as that is probably where a lot of fights occur?

The article below posted by Northern Rose indicates the club had security cameras, but it says Jack wasn't seen leaving.  I haven't where the security cameras were located or the area they were set to record.

Jack Culolias search: ASU student still missing; authorities search Tempe Town Lake area

TEMPE, AZ - Tempe police are getting help from other agencies as they search the Tempe Town Lake area for a missing Arizona State University student.

Jack Culolias, 19, was last seen leaving Tempe Marketplace after he was escorted out of Cadillac Ranch bar, Tempe police said Wednesday morning.

Culolias left his wallet and cell phone at the restaurant.

Tempe police spokesman Michael Pooley said investigators have talked to fraternity members Culolias was with Friday night and say they've gotten conflicting information.

Pooley said Culolias is not seen leaving the bar or parking lot in surveillance videos.

Missing ASU student Jack Culolias's fraternity has discipline history for alcohol-related incident
December 6, 2012

PHOENIX - A missing ASU student is affiliated with a college fraternity that has previously been disciplined for misconduct involving alcohol.

According to Sharon Keeler, a spokesperson for the university, the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at ASU has been placed on probation twice since 2006.

Missing student Jack Culolias, was a new member of the fraternity and attending a fraternity social event at a bar on November 30, the night he went missing.

Culolias had been kicked out of the bar.

According to Keeler, the SAE fraternity is currently in good standing, but they were placed on probation in 2006 for a hazing incident in which new members were forced to drink alcohol.

Keeler said one new member had to be transported to the hospital because he was so drunk.

The probation lasted for more than a year and a half.

Jack Culolias Update: Shoe found near lake belongs to missing Arizona State student, police say
December 10, 2012

CBS) - Arizona police say Friday that a red shoe found near a Tempe lake contained the DNA of missing Arizona State University student Jack Culolias, CBS affiliate KPHO reports.

The Department of Public Safety Crime Lab confirmed Friday that Culolias' DNA was in the shoe found by his mother on Tuesday, police said.
The 19-year-old was last seen leaving the Cadillac Ranch Tempe Marketplace at about 11 p.m. on Nov. 30, ASU police spokesman Jim Hardina said.

The search for Culolias in and around Tempe Town Lake was called off Friday afternoon, but the investigation into Culolias'  disappearance will continue elsewhere, according to Michael Pooley of the Tempe Police Department.

Jack Culolias search: Cadillac Ranch in Tempe investigated after ASU student goes missing
December 11, 2012

(2 page article)
TEMPE, AZ - The Arizona Department of Liquor Licensing and Control is investigating a Tempe bar where Arizona State University student Jack Culolias was last seen during a fraternity-sponsored pledge event attended by dozens of university underclassmen.

Lee Hill, a spokeswoman for the Arizona Department of Liquor Licensing and Control said on Monday that the state agency is reviewing information from Cadillac Ranch at Tempe Marketplace to determine whether any violations were committed the evening of Nov. 30 under its Title IV statutes involving underage drinking and serving alcohol to minors.

Culolias, 19, an ASU freshman, was last seen being escorted by a bouncer off the grounds of Cadillac Ranch at Tempe Marketplace during a Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity-sponsored event at about 11 p.m. Friday, according to police.

Police said Culolias used a fake ID to get into Cadillac Ranch to drink where about 200 other people were inside at the time, and that he had expressed concerns to his stepmother and twin brother about being “scared” about his initiation into the SAE fraternity going into pledge week, which also is known as “hell week.”

Police are continuing to question people who were there that night and seek information in connection to the case after initially receiving conflicting information from people questioned at the bar.

It is not known at this time whether Culolias was served alcohol at the bar, but in what could be a lengthy but revealing process, Liquor Licensing and Control investigators will review the credit card purchases made at the bar and compare them to the ages of the customers prior to considering whether any fines could be levied against the establishment.

The agency’s announcement comes at the same time the city announced it is working with the university to crack down on fraternity-related incidents.

The Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity at ASU has been placed on probation twice since 2006, according to Sharon Keeler, a ASU spokeswoman.
 ::snipping2::
The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Dive and Rescue and canine teams also have conducted searches with underwater cameras and radar equipment in the Salt River north of Tempe Marketplace looking for Culolias, but those searches have been inconclusive. The U.S. Marshal’s Service of Phoenix also is assisting in the case.

Culolias’ stepmother, Renae Culolias, had not heard from Jack the weekend of Nov. 30, and had called ASU police on Dec. 2 to conduct a welfare check on him. Campus police were unable to locate Culolias and the following evening, called Tempe police to report him missing.

On Tuesday, Dec. 4, the missing student's mother, Grace Culolias, began searching for any clues to Jack’s disappearance. She found one of his red Vans tennis shoes near the shore of the Salt River north of Tempe Marketplace. After DNA testing was conducted on the shoe last week, results came back positive that the shoe indeed belonged to Culolias.

Culolias was escorted out of Cadillac Ranch for urinating off a balcony amid chants from fraternity members, according to his twin brother, Alex.

If Cadillac Ranch is found to be in violation of serving alcohol to minors or other offenses, it could receive a fine for each incident.

In a statement issued by the Arizona Liquor Licensing and Control on Monday, Hill said, “Yes, the Department of Liquor will investigate Cadillac Ranch for violations of Title 4 (Arizona liquor law) and A.A.C. Title 19 (rules which clarify and support law). In general (not specific to Cadillac Ranch), when liquor violations on liquor-licensed premises are found, one or more citations such as criminal, civil or administrative can be written for each violation.”

If violations are found at Cadillac Ranch, the case will be forwarded to the Compliance Unit and the agency’s compliance officer will meet with the licensee and clearly review the violations to prevent a reoccurrence. After that meeting, the parties would agree to a fine amount and/or other action required to reach adjudication, according to Arizona Liquor Licensing and Control.

A manager at Cadillac Ranch who answered the phone on Monday said, “Everything we said, we’ve said to Tempe police.”

Authorities also are continuing to search the area for any additional clues to Culolias’ disappearance.

Jack Culolias search: Students, volunteers form search party for missing ASU student
December 11, 2012

TEMPE, AZ - A group of Arizona State University students and volunteers have taken matters into their own hands in the search for missing 19-year-old Jack Culolias .

The students, along with two volunteer cadaver dogs and their owners are looking for clues to the Culolias' disappearance in the river basin by Tempe Marketplace.

The group is not getting paid to help with the search. One of the group members told ABC15, when they searched Monday afternoon, they weren't able to find anything.

She also said that if Jack is not found in a few days, that he is not likely in the lake because at this point in the decomposition he would surface very soon.

Jack's grandparents are also taking part in the search.

Jack Culolias Disappearance: Apparent "Last Photo" of ASU Freshman Pops Up
December 13, 2012

Facebook
Jack Culolias (black shirt).
The last known picture taken of missing ASU freshman Jack Culolias was given to his twin brother, who posted it on Facebook yesterday.

As you can see in the photo above, Culolias -- in the black shirt -- appears to have a Corona in one hand, and some cash in the other hand, inside Cadillac Ranch in Tempe Marketplace.
Police confirmed Culolias, a pledge with the Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity, had used a fake ID to get into the venue on November 30 for a fraternity event.

Culolias was kicked out of Cadillac Ranch around 11 p.m. on November 30, and no one has heard from Culolias since then.

The only sign of Culolias has been a single red shoe, which was found by Culolias' mother near the Salt River basin, north of the shopping center, a few days after that.

Jack Culolias search: Body found in river near where ASU student last seen
December 16, 2012

TEMPE, AZ - A body was recovered from the Salt River Sunday near the spot where an Arizona State University student was last seen and there's a good chance it is the missing teen, a Tempe police spokesman said.

Two private search groups were looking for 19-year-old Jack Culolias Sunday morning when one group spotted a body floating in the river near the spot where one of the freshman's shoes was found about two weeks ago, Sgt. Mike Pooley said. He was last seen Nov. 30 after being kicked out of a Tempe bar during a fraternity party and was suspected of being drunk.

The deceased pulled from the water was wearing a single red shoe, leading to the "strong possibility" that the body is that of Culolias, said police spokeswoman Molly Enright in a statement later Sunday.

"My opinion is the recent rains from last night caused a current and the body became dislodged from whatever was holding it down," said Kelly Townsend with FindMe2.com, the search crew that located the body Sunday morning.

Pooley said the county medical examiner will have to identify the body, which had apparently been in the water for an extended period.

The student's mother was notified of the developments, police said.
