By Alyssa Newcomb | ABC News Blogs – 2 hrs 44 mins ago.

The disappearance of two friends has baffled authorities, who have searched by air, water and in wooded areas for the men, who seemed to have disappeared without a trace.
 ::snipping2::
Zachary Wells, 21, and Prescott Wright, 23, were last seen hanging out at home in Kennebunkport, Maine., on Thursday, police chief Craig Sanford told ABC News affiliate WMTW-TV.
 ::snipping2::
Authorities found no signs of a disturbance at the home, Sanford said, and searches of the nearby area did not turn up any clues. Only one of the men owns a vehicle, and it remained parked in the driveway of the house, according to ABC affiliate WCVB-TV in Boston.

KENNEBUNKPORT — Two young men, who are students at the Landing School in Arundel, were still missing Sunday night four days after they disappeared from a home in Kennebunkport.

Zachary Wells and Prescott Wright were last seen at a small gathering of friends last Wednesday night at this house at 5 Mills Road in Kennebunkport, where Wells lives with roommates.

Kennebunkport police, who are heading up the investigation, said Sunday night that there have been no new developments in the case.

The mysterious disappearance has shaken faculty and students at the boat-building school and triggered a massive search for the men from the air, on the water and along roadsides and woods.

Zachary Wells, 21, of 5 Mills Road, Kennebunkport, and Prescott Wright, 23, of 32 Post Road in Kennebunk, were last seen at a small gathering of friends at Wells’ house Wednesday night.

Search Continues for Two Missing 21 Year Old Zachary Wells & 23 Year Old Prescott Wright … Missing Since 12/20/12 in Kennebunkport, ME

http://scaredmonkeys.com/2012/12/23/search-continues-for-two-missing-21-year-old-zachary-wells-23-year-old-prescott-wright-missing-since-122012-in-sanford-me/

One would think that it would be rather easy to search around the party location where the one of them lived with other roommates and the house of the other. [Zachary Wells and Prescott Wright were last seen at a small gathering of friends last Wednesday night at this house at 5 Mills Road in Kennebunkport, where Wells lives with roommates]. I am very familiar with this area of Maine, have been to Kennebunkport and surrounding areas 100's of times. There are only so many roads. However, there is a lot of water. Could the two have gone down over an embankment? Gone into the water?

Its hard to believe they just disappeared without a trace.

Hmm, could there be more to the story than a simple disappearance? One would think had it been a case of two intoxicated guys leaving a party, one would think that they would find a car hitting a tree, over an embankment, etc. But generally you would see where such an accident took place.

Search for missing students turns up clothing on island

By Gillian Graham ggraham@mainetoday.com
Staff Writer

Searchers are now focusing on a small island just off the coast of Kennebunkport in their effort to find two men missing since last week.

Maine Warden Service Sgt. Tim Spahr searches Monday near Goat Island Lighthouse off Cape Porpoise for Zachary Wells and Prescott Wright, who've been missing from Kennebunkport since Wednesday.

The discovery of clothing on one of the small islands just off shore has authorities pursuing the possibility that the two men were kayaking or boating.

Authorities are now focusing on Trott Island, bringing in air boats to search the shoreline and trained dogs to help search the island's heavily wooded interior.

They have already searched nearby Goat Island. Both islands are easily visible from the Cape Porpoise pier, which is near the home where the men were last seen.

"There is some indication they were boating," said Maine Warden Service Sgt. Tim Spahr.

Spahr, who was using a kayak to search sand bars and ledges just offshore, said he did not know whether the two men may have been in kayaks or a larger boat.

Some articles of clothing were found on one of the islands, although Spahr did not say which one.
