I am thankful today that there wasn't a body at the bottom of that pond.  I know the three guys are lying, and therefore scum, but I hope that their crime is not all the way to murder.  There are other possibilities.

Okay, I mean to offend no one by what I say here and I want to say in advance that I think the world of the citizens of Aruba.  They have volunteered their time and searched for Natalee and that is wonderful.  I don't in the least bit blame them for what happened or want anything to harm their livelihood.  However, I don't see how boycotting travel to Aruba to "encourage" any shading practices by law enforcement there can do anything but help.  As long as the message is that it's not what happened to Natalee because crime is low there and what happened happens right here in the US everyday, but because of the perception the world has begun to have about the lack of response or investigation into what happened to her.  Just a thought.

I really wouldn't have questioned this before I saw what I saw today.  I always presumed that this would have been the first place they looked.  But that whole search at that area north of the highrise area today, letting a kid walk off with potential evidence convinces me-- this investigation is that bad!  So I presume nothing anymore.  The police are a joke, and the tourists searching, God bless them.  But I have the feeling they aren't wanting to stub their toes on something they don't want to see on their vacation.

There is an area, and it's directly across the street from Holiday Inn.  We could see it every day from our vantage point on the sixth floor at Playa Linda.  In fact, work over there tended to wake me up in the mornings.

Someone said that construction area belongs to Marriott.  And it was, that week, a lot of little hills of rock and sand, looking for all the world like concrete mix.  Later in the week, large piles of cinderblock could be seen from our unit at Playa Linda, right next door to Holiday Inn.

So, I have to ask?  I HAVE TO ASK!  Given the incompetence of this investigation!  Has anyone dug up those piles of sand and stone?  It would have been unfathomable to ask this question before today, but now I have to ask it.

I have found a picture of what I am talking about, among our vacation pics.  Bear in mind, we were there at that same week (as Natalee).  Take a look and make someone answer my question.  Have you dug around this area?  Have you really tore into it?  Cause NOW I WONDER!


Notice the small hill of sand/stone; appears to be concrete ingredients.

Forgive me for asking this, but you mentioned cinder blocks...is anyone thinking what I'm thinking?

Its funny..my daughter is a phlebotomist..and works at several maximum security prisons..all tough guys..mostly murderers..lifers...but show them a needle..and they are crying like babies and passing out. Well, there were 5 known instances of desecrating the Quran detailed by the DOD, just no confirmation of one involving a toilet.

Dallas, I read the same ABC news site. I was interested in the paragraph that said the radio station started searching before the officals were there. Wouldn't that taint evidence, or at least leave a shadow of suspicion on it?

I also want to add that though it seems like forever to get answers, I live in Florida where we've had several chlid abductions and murders. It seems like forever before the police finally find the victim and the perps. It seems such types of investigations take forever. So I'm not surprised it's taking this long.

I don't want to open a can of worms here, but from what I understand, the Newsweek report turned out to be true.  The Pentagon eventually confessed that the report was factual.  I think it was within two weeks of the Newsweek story.

Nope. Some detainees flushed Korans, or tore them up, but the Newsweek story was based on "highly-placed" sources, and they turned out to be bogus.

My point is, be highly skeptical of any report that won't name its sources.
