Juvenal, I didn't find anything in right clicking and going to properties to indicate that link has any additional files, merely gives the address and that it opens in a new window.

Itawamba,

I think the trip to the lighthouse makes total sense.  Again, thinking like a teenager.  If Joran was wooing and charming Natalee it could be that he offered to take her to see the lighthouse before she left. A quick sightseeing trip on her last night in town. They go and take a quick look. They head back towards her hotel, but he wants more time alone.  He asks to be dropped off at the Marriot.

Is the lighthouse a landmark?

I know this hasn't been divulged in the press but I would hope that the police DID get a statement from Joran's and Kalpoe's parents with times they arrived home. I mean Kalpoe's parents should be able to clearly state whether their sons came home, were on computer and then left again! And Joran's mom...she MUST know when he came home? He doesn't strike me as the type who wakes himself up for school...so I bet mommy did...so what was his condition? Was he scratched and bruised like some have said?

KerinTX, I think you would be surprised, well, okay, your a teacher, you won't be surprised at the number of parents who don't keep track of their kids' comings and goings.

since Joran stays out until all godly hours of the night/morning at casinos...do you really think his parents care about his whereabouts or when he comes home?   naw

Yes, it is.  I didn't mean that it didn't make sense in that sense.  I meant, in the scheme of things between the two versions of the story, with Joran calling the K's once to come get him or twice to come get him.  We've discussed the lighthouse trip a lot--I didn't mean the "lighthouse trip" itself--just whether or not it really happened, no matter where it was supposed to be.

Hopefully Joran's parents and especially his dad are bugged to the n-th degree... I feel sure that if this is a cover up that likely someone, somewhere is reporting developements to them so they can all stay one step ahead of police...

Mom...the biggest shock I get as a teacher is how many parents do not monitor their kids online activites at all.
I haven't written about it on here but I am actually involved right now with a rape case involving myspace.com.
I think that's another reason I am so passionate about this...because I knwo FIRST HAND what kids are posting to sites...and believe me, for the most part it is NOT bragging and made up...it is very very true and completely scary to boot!

Look where it says "type" after you go to properties: It gives an address ending in "file."

I have never been surprised in all my years about the lack of awareness on the part of some parents.  They can ignore anything if they try hard enough.  This kind of puts the stops on his coming to the US next year for College tho, doesn't it?

I would hope they have a better institution for him to attend!!

I hear that.  I can only say that I raised two boys - raised them both the same.  One, I would let go on an Aruba vacation in a heartbeat.  One I would forbid to go there.  Truth.

No I don't think they "care" but they should be able to provide a timeline for his alibi

This from the forum index:

"Before you click on any link that you find on this board...
Make sure it is a safe link that does not contain a file that will download on to your computer when you visit the link. (Most of the time you won't know that it downloaded the file unless you check the Properties of the link before you actually visit it)

PROTECT YOURSELF

Right click on all the links that you plan to click on and visit...
then go to Properties in the right click menu that pops up.

If the properties say FILE (anywhere), do not go to that link as it most likely has a malicious code that will download on to your computer without you know it.

If you think you clicked on a link that may have downloaded a file to your computer. Update you virus checker and run a full scan of your system.
Hopefully your virus checker will find the malicious code and delete it for you.

Geocities URL's (links) are commonly used by hackers. They email or post you a link to a website hosted on geocities and when you visit the link it downloads a malicious code on to your computer.

There was/is a link posted on this forum that is suppose to go to picture album of Joran that is hosted on Geocities. I right clicked on the URL and found that it was not only a URL but that the URL had a file behind it, hidden in the html.

I have tried to get the owner aor moderators attention, but as I post thsi the link is still on the forum, but I have posted a WARNING in the same thread that URL is in for people not to click on the URL. Hopefully the owner/moderator will pull it down soon.

Just be careful on what you click on!

Do a Google search for " malicious code " so that you can learn about they work."

Maybe this ought to be a sticky?

definitely,,, i'm printing it for future ref/ or tomorrow when maybe I can understand...for now I'm not clicking/etc....  but juvenal I looked back and can't find map(caribe?)  do u know it...the good one...
I still think golf/pet thing...could still b dreaming...heads rolling...2 f/u 4 me sometimes....it's not the herb either...

SB...you could be right but the only thing that's scares me with that scenario is is Joran and the brothers were not involved then there is a stranger involved and it is likely that we will never know what happened to her.

I just can't imagine the three of them would be so stupid as to make up a fake story if they weren't involved in her disappearance.
