Authorities are looking for a 10-year-old girl who was last seen with a woman who was arrested Friday by police who said she slashed a colleague in the face with a knife at the Bellagio hotel-casino.

Jade Morris was last seen about 5 p.m. Friday "in the custody of Brenda Stokes," a suspect in the Bellagio stabbing, Las Vegas police said Tuesday.

At the time, Stokes was driving a red, 2007 four-door Saab, authorities added.

A girl is missing and a blackjack dealer has been mauled.

The woman at the center of both incidents, Brenda Stokes, might have been a scorned lover bent on retaliating against her fiance, relatives of the girl said Wednesday.

Tejuana Reeves, mother of missing 10-year-old Jade Morris, said Stokes, 50, picked up Jade from her home about 5 p.m. on Friday to go shopping. They were expected back a few hours later, Reeves said.

The police report released by Metro concerning an attack at the Bellagio on Friday paints a violent picture.

Brenda Jean Stokes, 50, identified in the report as Brenda Stokes Wilson, was arrested around 9:45 p.m. on Friday for attacking a female co-worker at the Bellagio with razor blades.

Stokes is currently in Clark County Detention Center, charged with burglary, use of a deadly weapon resulting in bodily harm and mayhem with use of a deadly weapon.

According to the report, Stokes located her victim at a blackjack table in the Bellagio and, armed with razor blades in each hand, slashed her face. One laceration on the victim's face extends from ear to ear to the corner of her mouth. The victim was hospitalized with deep laceration wounds.

Las Vegas, NV (KTNV) -- Brenda Stokes, the woman accused of slashing a co-worker with razor blades on Dec. 21 at the Bellagio hotel-casino, appeared in court this morning.

Police also suspect that she has a connection to the disappearance of a 10-year-old girl.

Jade's dad and Brenda Stokes' fiance was in court this morning but was escorted out after shouting questions at Stokes about his little girl.

Stokes is being charged with burglary, battery with a deadly weapon, battery with use of a deadly weapon causing substantial bodily harm, and mayhem.

Stokes is due back in court on Friday.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — An outburst by the father of a missing 10-year-old girl marred the first court hearing for a casino card dealer accused of using razor blades to slash a co-worker's face at a blackjack table at an upscale Las Vegas Strip resort.
Jade Morris' father, shouting "Where's my baby at?" interrupted the initial appearance for Bellagio employee Brenda Stokes before an armed Las Vegas Justice Court bailiff ushered him into the hallway, KTNV-TV 13 News reported (http://bit.ly/V553v5 ).
The girl was last seen by her family at about 5 p.m. Friday in the custody of Stokes, 50, who also goes by the names Brenda Stokes Wilson and Brenda Jean Stokes. KTNV-TV reported Stokes was engaged to the child's father.
She was supposed to have taken the girl shopping, police said.

I don't think Jade's case will end well either.  I can certainly understand Jade's father being so distressed  in the presence of  Brenda Stokes, who is suspected of disappearing his daughter, especially in light of Brenda slashing a persons face with a razor.  It's just chilling even thinking about what she may have done to 10 year old Jade.    Jade's daddy wants to know "where's my baby at?"  Heartbreaking.

Vegas police seek information about missing girl

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas issued a new plea for information Thursday about a 10-year-old girl last seen with a casino card dealer just hours before the woman was accused of slashing a co-worker's face with razor blades at a Las Vegas Strip resort.

"We're hoping to reach somebody who may have information that will lead us to the whereabouts of this young girl," police Capt. Chris Jones said.

Police issued a missing persons alert late Tuesday about Jade Morris, who officials say was last seen by her family about 5 p.m. last Friday with Brenda Stokes.

Stokes, 50, also uses the name Brenda Wilson. Police said she was a friend of the girl's father, and was supposed to have taken the girl Christmas shopping at an outlet mall off Interstate 15 near downtown Las Vegas.

Jones, a supervisor in the department's robbery-homicide division, said Stokes returned to another friend the red 2007 Saab sedan that she borrowed for the shopping trip.

A short time later, Stokes was arrested at the Bellagio casino after allegedly attacking a female co-worker, Joyce Rhone, as the woman dealt blackjack.

Stokes is accused of wielding a razor blade in each hand as she attacked Rhone, who was hospitalized with deep cuts on her face, including one from her ear to the edge of her mouth. A police arrest report said Rhone, 44, also had several smaller cuts around her right eye.

Records show that Stokes was being held Thursday on $60,000 bail at the Clark County jail on felony battery with a weapon, burglary and mayhem charges that could get her decades in prison.

LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -

Red Rock Search and Rescue, a local volunteer group, on Thursday got involved in the search for 10-year-old Jade Morris.

The group is searching the desert area around Rainbow Boulevard and Wigwam Avenue. At noon a group of about seven or eight people had gathered. Red Rock Search and Rescue is expecting more volunteers and is calling on the public to come out and help with the search.

A grim discovery was made Thursday in the northern stretches of the Las Vegas Valley, and Metro Police are trying to determine whether the case of a missing 10-year-old is now a homicide.

Authorities say a man walking his dog today in an unfinished housing development in North Las Vegas wandered upon the body of a small, black female.

Capt. Chris Jones of Metro’s homicide division would not confirm the body was that of 10-year-old Jade Morris, who has been missing for six days. Official confirmation will come from the Clark County Coroner’s Office, but Jones indicated in all likelihood the youngster was dead.

NORTH LAS VEGAS -- Police investigating the disappearance of a 10-year-old Las Vegas girl are at the scene of the discovery of a female child's body in an undeveloped housing tract in North Las Vegas.

Las Vegas police homicide Capt. Chris Jones said authorities didn't immediately know if the body is Jade Morris but it matches the girl's description. Some of Morris' family members are at the scene awaiting news.

North Las Vegas police say a passer-by called 911 about noon about a girl's body in a remote area near Dorrell Lane and North 5th Street. That's about 10 miles north of downtown Las Vegas.
