Oh, that's funny.......

They just said on NG, "The one thing we know Jodi knows how to do, is kill. If she wanted to kill herself, she'd be dead".

Part of the whole point of victim impact statements is emotion, for goodness sake! If there's a sobbing sister trying to tell how a murder has effected her, the tears are simply a small outward overflow of the pain in their heart. That's what victim impact is ALL about! It wasn't just the life of Travis that Jodi took, it was the peace and well being of those who loved him!

<snipped>

Court officials said by email that Thursday's court proceedings have been sealed.

Court documents obtained by ABC15 read in part, "Ms. Arias requests that any and all victim impact evidence be presented via videotape so as to prevent any unpredictable outbursts that interfere with the rights due Ms. Arias..."

Stay with abc15.com and ABC15 Mobile as we learn more.

http://www.abc15.com/dpp/news/region_phoenix_metro/central_phoenix/jodi-arias-sentencing-update-court-canceled-thursday

Screw her! She deserves to listen to Travis's family of how she ruined their lives! They need to be able to look at her and tell her exactly t they think of her!
Te judge will not grant this videotaping..not fair to the family.
Her family's impact tatements need to be videotaped as well then..

Jodi requests victim impact statements be videotaped to avoid unexpected outbursts?

The family of Travis Alexander requests that Jodi Arias be put to death to avoid someone else being stabbed 29 times, shot in face, and having their throat slashed.

Exactly!

Jodi's Mother went to visit her in the psych ward tonight. She was turned away because of the particular watch, or psych status, Jodi is under at the ward. A basic suicide watch allows visitors. The physicians will determine when she is released.

A trauma nurse on HLN said that in Arizona, a suicide watch is issued when there is verbal indication of suicide. A suicide hold is issued when there has been some action toward suicide. How that would apply to Jodi, is beyond me.

Maybe she dug a fingernail into her magical broken finger until it hurt, before she said "ouch" and quit.

I'm still just livid over what Jodi says in her post verdict interview. She's still trashing Travis. It's like she's angry with him for causing her all this trouble!

Thought I'd post the link again, in case anyone has missed the additional segments as they are released. I wish they'd just release the interview in it's entirety.

To clarify my post, she called to set up the interview before the verdict came in. I think she called on Sunday. She made sure that she would be on camera no matter what the outcome...

That call to the reporter (before the verdict) was to set up an interview if, "For some reason, the verdict is first degree". It's the implementation of her contingency plan to make sure she could get what she wanted to say out there, so that maybe the jury could see and hear her before the aggravation and sentencing phase.

I don't want to relate myself in any way to Jodi Arias, but it struck me that the tone she takes in that call, is exactly the tone I take when I'm speaking with an employee at work around something that needs to get done. It was courteous, but directing, and left little doubt who was in control. She also spoke with the same emotion as a work conversation.

There were several things she said during that interview and points she made that were purposeful and preplanned:

She got out that she had prayed for each juror (gag)

She got out a reminder that Travis was "her abuser" and a pedophile. (She unknowingly screwed herself on that one. She came off as really angry with Travis with absolutely no remorse for killing him. That hatred she showed is contrary to her testimony. Her need to claim victory for ruining other's perception of Travis showed through.)

She got out that she would rather die than remain in jail (in the hope they wouldn't give her death, IMO)

She made accusations that Juan had engaged in unethical misconduct pertaining to her case.

When all this came down, she was a CONVICTED murderer in custody!

I just don't understand how she could have done this. She should have been transported back to her jail cell right after court!

Bah!

Whatever we see next out of Jodi, I predict it will be creative. You can't leave her to her own devices this long without bracing for more lies, manipulation and vile from that biotch. JMO.

I'd bet that she's figured out that the psych ward is more comfy than where she came from and I'm sure that she's really getting off on all the attention. She pulled something to get there rather than on suicide watch where she was, and I believe it was a little something beyond what she said in the post verdict interview. Jodi's got access to TV and can exercise where she is, and, above all, she can talk and talk and talk to the providers who continually evaluate her. She really loves an audience.

I may be dead wrong, but I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that Jodi may take a stab (something she knows how to do) at a mental health issue to impact the next two phases. We'll see and again, it's just speculation, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.
