THE CONFISCATED PENS

Was Jodi's diary fabricated while she was in prison ... fabricated to imply battered woman's sydrome ... fabricated through research derived from the books and magazine subscriptions gifted to her by Richard Samuels and Alyce Laviolette?

Jodi Arias’ Prison Rap Sheet Reveals She Attacked Her Cell Mate And Claimed Self Defense!Posted on Apr 3, 2013

Also on the rap sheet built up during the four-and-a-half years that she has been awaiting trial are bizarre violations of prison policy such as hiding pens under her sink in May 2009, possessing 19 unauthorized pictures in January 2010, disobeying her instructor, possessing unauthorized creams – including anti-itch, anti-fungal and acne lotion – and the discovery of even more pens in shampoo bottles and under her bunk.

I don't often quote Nancy Grace but ... the following words I agree with 100%.  I cannot comprehend why the Judge is allowing the deceptive testimony of this so called "expert" ... this so called "expert" who does not have a PHD but has been and is being paid $250/$300 per hour nevertheless.  A "runaway trial"!!

I hope Juan Martinez challenges Alyce Laviolette in the rebuttal/cross examining stage in regards to Jodi's words in other diary entries ... words that were not addressed in her testimony ... words that imply mutual consent ... words that contradict the battered woman's syndrome.

Way back in the trial proceedings Juan Martinez did challenge Jodi Arias encompassing her own words that implies mutual consent in regards to sexual role play fantasies ... sexual role play fantasies involving children.

I hope the jury members took good notes ... have good memories.  For the most part ... my mind is in a "fog" regarding much of the prosecution's case to backup the charge of premeditated murder.  My mind is also in a "fog" in regards to Martinez' cross-examination of Jodi Arias.  It seems soooo long ago.

Jodi Arias Said She Liked 'Debasing' Phone Sex Talk With Ex-Boyfriend
Feb. 12, 2013

<snipped>

But the tape also shows Arias' willingness to please Alexander, agreeing with all of his suggestions for their sex life.

The pair discussed a pornographic-type movie that Alexander would like to shoot with Arias, coming up with storylines and costumes they each could wear. He tells her he wants to take pictures of her as ejaculates on her, and Arias tells Alexander he is "so creative" for coming up with ideas for what he wanted to be a "legitimate porn."

Arias describes on the recording how she liked wearing pig-tails while the pair had sex in a bathtub, to which Alexander responded that the pigtails were "so hot."

Eventually, Arias orgasms, and Alexander tells her, "You sound like a 12 year old having an orgasm, that's so hot, like little girl."

"You're bad, you make me feel so dirty," Arias responded.

Jodi Arias Grilled Over Pedophilia Charge, Tootsie Pop Fantasy
Feb. 21, 2013

Martinez dwelled at one point about a journal entry where Arias wrote that she missed the Mormon baptism of her friend Lonnie because she was having kinky sex with Alexander. He drew attention to prior testimony that she and Alexander used Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks candy as sexual props.

"You're trying to get across (in the diary entry) that this involved a sexual liaison with Mr. Alexander right?" he asked. "And you're talking about Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks?"

"That happened also that night," Arias said.

"You were there, enjoying it, the Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks?" he asked again, prompting a smirk from Arias.

"I enjoyed his attention," Arias said.

Janet

Yes. I think she used them for her drawings that she has had sold on eBay.

Could also have used them to falsify diary entries while in jail also. I think she added things that her "expert" witnesses discussed in order to help her defense.

I don't believe anything in her diaries. A liar wrote them, and I do not believe anything a liar says.

I hope that Martinez will come back to court next week and conduct his cross in a more respectful way than he did at the end of the day on Thursday.  After all, whatever may be thought of ALV, the fact is that she is a "court approved" expert.  She did a very good job for the defense...so good of a job that by the end of her direct testimony, many are concerned that she will turn the jury.  By Martinez's actions late Thursday, it sounded like he is concerned, too.

It seems to me that he would get the jury to listen better if he conducted his cross respectfully.  ALV is not Jodi; she didn't kill anyone.

I know that Martinez is well-liked for his intimidation toward Jodi - that's one thing - but to treat an expert witness like that is a different thing IMO.

I don't want the jury to turn against Martinez at this late time in the trial.

I'm sorry guys but I don't like Martinez he reminds me of my first husband and gives me knots in my stomach every time he yells. My first husband was very mentally and physically abusive to me. But in 1969 you can't have your husband arrested for hitting you raping you or anything Why because he is your husband and you are a woman with NO Rights
This may be why I'm having a hard time with this case. He did terrible things to me things that are still haunting me and no one believed me.
I kept a journal and while I was at work he found it Ohh the price I paid for putting this down on paper.
I had no one to talk to that would believe me because I was the only one who saw this side of him.
He was very good at hiding this I shouldn't even be watching this case because it's making me remember everything.
YES I wanted to kill him but tossed him out changed the locks on the doors he broke in  smashed through a window and beat the crap out of me but this time people saw him. He was arrested and some other woman is putting up with his shit now.

I may have to back away from this case

Blonde,

I'm sorry that you had to go through all of that.
I know a couple of people who went through something similar.
Listening to ALV's testimony brought back a lot of memories about my friends' troubles and all of it sounds too familiar.  Things like this "do" escalate like the testimony escalated.
ALV has been hired to present the defendant's side of the case and she did a good job of it.
Just like a computer, it's all only as good as the input is.

However, Martinez bothers me...I liked seeing him go after Jodi - to a point...but I don't like his attitude toward others and I turned him off last Thursday at the end of the day.  I'm sure he wanted to make a strong point to the jurors so that they had something to think about over the long weekend.

Just like on this forum....some love the way Martinez is handling the case....some are bothered at points with the way he's handling the case, I believe that with the 17 jurors/alternates there will be a similar mix.  Some will love his demeanor; some won't like it so much.

I have a sinking feeling about how this case will end.

I have a feeling, she didn't get/read all of ja's diary entry's.
I also agree with u guys ja might of(probably)added or whatever to the diary before new defense team got there hands on it.

I agree cookie/Puzzler.  However ... other do not see it that way and ... they may be right.  I appreciated Jeff Ashton's style throughout the Casey Anthony trial and ... we all know the outcome.  Anyways ... what will be; will be.

I do not appreciate Martinez' approach to the questioning of the defence witnesses and neither did my hubby when he watched the trial proceedings yesterday for the first time.  His take?  There is agressive and there is  agressive.  Well thought out rebuttal questions can be asked respectfully but firmly while effectively conveying authority ...without bullying ... without talking down to the witness.
