Willmott being very snarky about the term "abuse."

...telling Dr. DeMarte her question is a yes or no. Dr. DeMarte held her ground and eventually explained her answer.

Yeah i cant see anything but attitude & snark in her entire cross so far. I dont see her being nice nor do i really expect to but i think her questioning is no different than juans, just sounds less agressive because shes not as loud. I also believe she did say bitch. I find her very unorganized with the umms & long pausess. I loved it yesterday when demarte told her she might want to check her notes, sidebar & then she dropped that line of questioning. Proved u wrong didnt she wilmott?

She's totally being too nice.  Juan always holds his witness to 'yes or no'.  Willmott is letting Demarte give too much information when the answer should be yes or no.  She keeps saying 'oh, okay' or 'right' after the witness responds, giving credence to Demarte's answers that contradict what Willmott is trying point out.

It's making me appreciate the antics Juan uses.  He's way more effective in manipulating the information flow coming from the witnesses than Willmott is.

She is very good no doubt but I wonder if she would be as good if Juan were doing the cross?  His bouncing around and aggressive style serves to deflate the witness, weaken their focus, so he stays in control of the questioning.  Willmott is not in control here.

Also helps that demarte has a solid groundwork & knowledge of her opinions unlike alyce & dick.

I think Dr. DeMarte is good because she remains cool under pressure and is so knowledgeable about her subject.

I don't think she would waver much no matter who questioned her and whatever their styles are.

I think towards the end, Willmott became almost rude to Dr. DeMarte.

And definitely, she was outwitted and out of her league.

It seemed rude because she is generally so courteous IMO.  She should have probably been that way the duration of the questioning to be effective.

I have only a little prior knowledge of court proceedings and these were in family court.  I can see now (have never watched a televised trial before) that criminal court is much more difficult, especially these high profile trials.  Being an attorney requires quite the balance in controling the witness and not being abusive, and amidst all of that not turning the jurists off yet outlining for them the facts you want them to focus on.

Unbelievably difficult.

I do agree that Willmott was outwitted by the witness.  Demarte does have a doctorate after all and I'm certainly glad she's a witness for the prosecution.
