I think that when the jury says guilty of pre meditated murder that Juan will break down in happy tears because he worked so hard for Travis and his family to get justice. He will be very emotional...he has been through an emotional time.

Juan Martinez gave his all for Travis!!

Kirk Nurmi is so deceptive in his mission to afford Jodi credibility at the expense of Travis' character/reputation.  Why did he not play the full recording regarding the pigtails/tootie pops/pop rocks.

Way back in the trial proceedings Juan Martinez did challenge Jodi Arias encompassing her own words that implies mutual consent in regards to sexual role play fantasies ... sexual role play.

I hope the jury members took good notes ... have good memories.

Jodi Arias Said She Liked 'Debasing' Phone Sex Talk With Ex-Boyfriend
Feb. 12, 2013

<snipped>

But the tape also shows Arias' willingness to please Alexander, agreeing with all of his suggestions for their sex life.

The pair discussed a pornographic-type movie that Alexander would like to shoot with Arias, coming up with storylines and costumes they each could wear. He tells her he wants to take pictures of her as ejaculates on her, and Arias tells Alexander he is "so creative" for coming up with ideas for what he wanted to be a "legitimate porn."

Arias describes on the recording how she liked wearing pig-tails while the pair had sex in a bathtub, to which Alexander responded that the pigtails were "so hot."

Eventually, Arias orgasms, and Alexander tells her, "You sound like a 12 year old having an orgasm, that's so hot, like little girl."

"You're bad, you make me feel so dirty," Arias responded.

Jodi Arias Grilled Over Pedophilia Charge, Tootsie Pop Fantasy
Feb. 21, 2013

Martinez dwelled at one point about a journal entry where Arias wrote that she missed the Mormon baptism of her friend Lonnie because she was having kinky sex with Alexander. He drew attention to prior testimony that she and Alexander used Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks candy as sexual props.

"You're trying to get across (in the diary entry) that this involved a sexual liaison with Mr. Alexander right?" he asked. "And you're talking about Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks?"

"That happened also that night," Arias said.

"You were there, enjoying it, the Tootsie Pops and Pop Rocks?" he asked again, prompting a smirk from Arias.

"I enjoyed his attention," Arias said.

Considering jurors are not deliberating over the weekend ... if the verdict comes down on Monday ... it definitely counts as one day.  Cookie ... I am counting on it so I can get back to the life outside the computer room.

I hope deliberations do not drag on and on ... not even until Tuesday.

I voted the same, Cookie.

I think Monday verdict would count as within one day.

If we get a verdict on Monday, it's within one day in my book!

Life interrupted my ability to listen to the end of Nurmi and Juan's rebuttal so I'm off to catch up!

8 men and 4 women make up the jury (Thank you, Muffy!). Hmmmmm....... not the make-up I would have preferred. I think women see through women better than men do. It sounds sexist but I do think that many women have a greater ability to act and react with emotion, while many men hang on to primary logic longer. It's part of what makes us far more intuitive than men. As I was listening to Nurmi, I must say, he's right, I think, on one point. I would agree that Jodi was absolutely enraged (he said "snapped). I just don't concede that "snapped" is inconsistent with "premeditated" in this case. I have no doubt that Jodi desperately wanted Travis to change his mind about the Cancun trip and that she would have preferred that. When he said "no", she had already made a plan and had prepared for it. I have no problem seeing Jodi absolutely loosing it at that answer.

Well........... I've heard Juan's rebuttal!

I think his safety net on premeditation is brilliant. I love that he has inserted into the case the way Jodi killed Travis 3 times. After the first "killing", the other two would qualify for premeditated murder. That's a pretty convincing argument. Personally, I think all the other evidence is convincing as well, but still, Jodi over-killed Travis and I'd say Juan over-proved premeditation.

I can't help but wonder if the jury not being sequestered will impact any of them. IF it does have an impact, my bet is that it would push someone toward the State's case. You just know that locally this is big news and being covered everywhere you look.

If I were the lawyer for the State and knew I was going to have 8 men and 4 women on the jury, I think I would have shown the movie "Fatal Attraction" instead of giving a closing argument. I might have quoted Glenn Close at the very end and attributed it to Jodi: "I will not be IGNORED!"

I'm hoping the jury, in deliberations, will be able to come up with a scenario that fits.

Jodi wasn't happy during Juan's rebuttal and that makes me happy!!

I think Juan was very clear on her over kill. Like he said any one of them would kill him. And doing all three showed she was not fighting him because she was afraid for her life. She wanted him dead. In Juan's rebuttal he said yes she left tracks on her trip every where but Arizona. Referring to Nurmi saying if she was planning on killing Travis and planned all the stuff the state said why did she leave a trial. Golly gee her phone died right when she got into Arizona and wow as soon as she was out of Arizona she found her charger no gas was bought in Arizona.

Exactly, GE. She didn't fill up her car or gas cans in Arizona either. She didn't use that card once...for anything...in the State. The trail she did leave purposefully steered away from Arizona.

I swear u would think i had a personal interest in this case. I am a nervous wreck. I have been trying to research things for insight like crazy. Researched whether men or women are more likely to convict, make up of previous juries in high profile cases, deliberation times for high profile cases, interviews with scott peterson jurors.......etc. Im making myself crazy here. I dont know how i feel about the 8 men & 4 women. Will men be more sympathetic to her because shes an "attractive" (not imo) woman? Will they understand travis' taking opportunities sexually with this rare type of girl for him who was willing to be freaky? I just dont know. This abuse CRAP is the only thing i worry about. Will they believe it with no proof? So many possibilities. If it werent for the casey anthony verdict i might have more faith in the intelligence of the average person. I cant see how they could disregard all of her lies. All the obvious planning for that little detour speaks volumes to me. The absolute gruesome slaughter that took place. How can they look at the autopsy photos & not want to punish her as harsh as they could. That had to be extreme suffering. My heart bleeds for his family waiting for this verdict  i pray god gives them some solace & closure in seeing the monster responsible for this at least life without parole. I need my god to show me that the evil here on earth wont always go unpunished in this life. I know she will meet her maker someday but i need somr sign right now that god is instilling his love into the people who have the tools right now to punish the evil. Im sorry if this sounds crazy & over the top but a am so tired of evil people being turned into celebrities, going unpunished & profiting off of their crimes. I gaurantee this witch will try to profit in any way she can if she is acquitted & travis' family will never know peace. Please god, allow these jurors to ser clearly what u already know & render a verdict that speaks the truth.
