Who was that new monkey that did the 3-d?
I think that should be emailed to Juan for the July 18th trial.

Judge declares mistrial in penalty phase of Jodi Arias trial
May 23, 2013
PHOENIX –  The jury in Jodi Arias' murder trial was dismissed Thursday after failing to reach a verdict against the woman they convicted of murdering her one-time boyfriend in a case that captured headlines worldwide with its sex, lies, violence.

A new panel likely will be seated to try again to reach a decision on a sentence -- unless the prosecutor takes death off the table agrees to a life sentence. The judge scheduled a retrial for July 18.

The jury began deliberating Tuesday and first reported it had failed to reach a unanimous decision the next day. Stephens instructed the jurors to keep trying.

The same panel on May 8 found Arias guilty of first-degree murder in the death of Alexander, who was stabbed and slashed nearly 30 times and nearly decapitated at his Mesa home. The jury later determined the killing was cruel enough to merit consideration of the death penalty.

Under Arizona law, a hung jury in the death penalty phase of a trial requires a new jury to be seated to decide the punishment. If the second jury cannot reach a unanimous decision, the judge would then sentence Arias to spend her entire life in prison or be eligible for release after 25 years. The judge cannot sentence Arias to death.

Former Maricopa County Attorney Rick Romley has said the case could drag on for several more months as the new jury reviews evidence and hears opening statements, closing arguments and witness testimony in a "Cliffs Notes" version of the trial.

However, if the prosecutor decides not to pursue the death penalty a second time, the judge would then sentence Arias to one of the life in prison options, and the trial would come to a conclusion.

If it came down to the Judge to sentence her, I feel strongly that she will sentence her to LWOP.

This is not KC's jury, IMO. This jury has rendered partial judgement and when they have rendered a verdict, they got it right.

And I think they did their very best to reach a verdict!

As I keep saying, it only takes ONE juror to hang them.

This is the reason I believe that Juan Martinez and Bill Montgomery along with consultation with Travis' family should be prepared to take the death penalty off the table in exchange for life without parole rather than going through the sentencing phase again.

I firmly believe if "a life sentence without parole" had been an option ... "death penalty" jurors may have compromised.

CBB,
Thank you. I'll see if I can find a way to get that to Juan Martinez.
You know, it was odd because the other day I noticed the gov't looking
at Stephen Alexander here at SM.

My heartfelt prayers go out to Travis' family tonight. They've sacrificed so much to see this through. I want to lift their pain tonight and place it squarely onto Jodi. I want Jodi to have been led out and on her way to her new home on death row and her to feel no hope.

Travis's family still has reason to hope, and when they can settle in, they'll see it. Unfortunately, Jodi also has some hope tonight, and I don't like that at all.

In the end, justice will be well served if those self serving interviews she did help another jury decide to bring back a verdict of death.

NG (speaking with a reporter who was in the courtroom): One of the female jurors mouthed to the Alexander family, through tears, "I'm sorry". Another female juror couldn't look at them but was crying.

show her in jail uniform.

I am so glad someone got a picture of this horrific criminal in stripes and leg chains!

And very glad she can do no more interviews. I am so sick of her.

Good evening, Monkey's,

Jodi, is just lucky that this is a Holiday Weekend- and the Jurors, wanted to go home and start their preparations for the Holiday weekend, IMO.

This is the same junk that happened to KC, remember?  it was a Holiday Weekend, and the jurors made a quick decision.

Maybe they're going to the Grand Canyon instead of Disney, like the jury from CA did.

Interesting and clever thought.
I  Forgot, all about Disney & the KC Jurors.  TY.
Something, just stinks.
