Here! Hello everyone!
So I'm assuming its the DT that's requesting all this sealing? Geez Louise.
January is a long time to wait for the last phase of this mess to resume? If and I mean a big if!
She gets life!
Do y'all think judge Stephens will give her parole after 25 years?
NO WAY
I thought it was kinda funny that Brett seacats verdict watch wasn't as big of a deal as it was when they were on verdict watch for ja.
Does anyone think that Jodie's mom returned to Yreka until be began the final phase? I don't see any reason to remain in Arizona? It's not like Jodie appreciated her presence.
I think she went back to Yreka. Really no need to stay in Phoenix.
I bet they caught her wrath for not being there when the verdict was reached. Lol they were vacationing at the Grand Canyon! How far is that from mesa anyways? I've never been there.
No sure of the distance, but a day trip for sure.
I know her dad is a very sick man and I can't fault him wanting to see it with his wife and two children. It's not their fault she got herself in this mess anyways. At first I thought it was crappy for them not to be there! But with much thought! I realize that they deserve a break from all the drama she's created and a big break from all the sex garbage created by nurmi.
In one of her jail interrogations! While alone in the room! She said! Beat you brat! I take that it was directed at Travis!
But in the end he beat her because she did not get away with his murder. Murder 1 on cruelty is a big deal.! He won. Moo
I felt so bad for her father ....I had the feeling he really didn't want to be there.

I don't care much for all this sealing.
me neither......it's all to protect HER rights...make me wanna SPIT!! (do we have a spitting monkey
)
And I really wanted to read about Alyce LaViolette....whatever she did it must have been really bad!!
I wanna read about it too! Inquiring minds (and nosy monkeys like me) wanna know!
Oh? Does that mean we won't get to hear what ALV did? No more unsealing? Wah wah
No it looks like everything has been resealed....darn it.
Well I don't like the idea of waiting u til January! But than maybe this will give the Alexander family sometime to earn some more income and take a well deserve break.
Except I don't think there will be a moment of peace for them until she is sentenced. And I do worry about Steven.....he seems to be so very fragile.
At least they can move a out freely and enjoy some rest and recreation! While their brothers killer sits in jail all alone with no one to talk to and no window to look out of. I mean you can only read and draw so much and that becomes boring and tiresome. Imagine eating jail slop! No free will to go as you please or go to fine dining. The things we take for granted and especially she took for granted her freedom.
It would have been so easy to walk away!
She will find others to torment in prison it's her nature evil built in.
She will not be a super star in prison....of course the first couple of years she will remain in closed custody.

Does any monkey know why "Ms. Arias" wants to move her penalty phase proceedings up 6 months? Is she going to try to reinvent herself in that time? Write a book? So, I guess her hiney just sits in prison for the additional six months?

Per .HLN
Jennifer says she's working on five other cases and they need more time to present her case also it's being said per vinnie that the DT is trying to bow out! They want to go with mental, illness lol after wilmott snarled the heck out of demarte over it. Go figure
jw will have to reschedule her other cases
I haven't seen any motions for them to withdraw recently. Not since the mitigation phase started. And they have to search for another corrupt 'expert' who is willing to commit perjury. Neither their expert nor Dr. DeMarte diagnosed her with any mental illness.
Personality, yes. But no mental illness. I just hope and pray JSS denies it, but my gut tells me she won't. And both kn and jw will continue to collect their $350.00 per hour
....
(Bolded by me)
I agree with you Sunny. I hope JSS denies it too, but I'm not holding my breath.
Yep, they talk with each other about having lunch and the state is charged for billing time. I worked for too many attorneys not to know who they bill!! I asked an attorney friend this morning about something that has been bothering me. The mitigation specialist for the defense aka the flamingo dancer
was being paid $100.00 per hour and yet there were no mitigation witnesses....even though her ex-boyfriend Darryl was waiting to testify....so what was she paid for other than passing note and drawings for ja and wearing totally inappropriate clothing and jewelry in court. So, I asked will the state have to continue to pay her fees??
Mitigation specialist, Maria De La Rosa, for Jodi Arias
I believe that the State needs to put some kind of limit on the amount that these specialist can charge. Most businesses have
some kind of checks and balances and this case seems to have people sucking the $$$ outta the system.
Since this was JSS's first DP trial it seems like she was bending over backwards to ensure there were no actions for appeals. I don't think for a moment she thought there would be a hung jury. Hopefully this time around she will be tougher and no concerned about appeal issues.

That gives me concern! No way should she be given parole! 25 years institutionalized may make her more manipulative, conning and way more of a danger to society. I can't get over her stealing other inmates mail! Sorry to beat a dead horse but it just boggles my mind! Is she stealing for the soul purpose of stealing and getting away with it or is she using intimidation. She's doing things someone would do with more years behind bars. She began almost immediately to break rules and cross boundaries.not that she has any to began with! Can you imagine how much property that didnt belong to her she took, including money! Lets not forget the engagement ring she stole from Travis.
I think mm and Daryl feared her to some extent! Daryl seemed like a fragile man very easy to manipulate more so than mm.

Granted there were no witnesses called to testify on behalf of Jodi Arias in the mitigation phase but ... could it be that the defense believes whatever amount the mitigation expert received she was worthy. Think about it.
It was the mitigating factors in the sentencing phase that saved Jodi from the death penalty.
Four jurors bought them hook, line and sinker. No mitigating witnesses required.
Janet
++++++
1. Defendant was 27 years old at the time of the offense.
2. Defendant has no prior criminal history.
3. Defendant was a good friend.
4. Defendant lacked support from her family.
5. Defendant suffered abuse and neglect as a child and as an adult.
6. Defendant tried to make the best of her life.
7. Defendant consistently tried to improve herself.
8. Defendant is a talented artist.
I respectfully have to disagree with you....these mitigating factors are crap. And I don't believe any of the 4 jurors who didn't vote for the DP ever REALLY considered them seriously. I simply think they could not vote for the DP....nothing really to do with ja.....it was the DP.
1. 27 is way beyond the age of reason
2. no prior criminal history of her having been arrested. But there was plenty of evidence that she stole the gun, slashed Travis' and Mini's tires.
3. good friend? I didn't see any good friend stand up for her
4. her family supported her too much. They knew she was 'off'
5. where was the proof of abuse
6. make the best of her life by going from man to man...when the grass looked green on the other side or the boyfriend tired of her she just moved on to another man. She had an opportunity to work at PPL, but didn't...she couldn't stalk Travis if she actually had to work.
7, how did she try improve herself...she only tried to improve her status by leeching off the status of the next man
8. she is a tracer...a copier....her drawings are things she copied.

I truly think she was a serial killer in the making! Had she not been held accountable. She truly believe no jury would ever convict her.

loca, I really can't see JSS giving her anything less than LWOP. I agree about Darryl...but I also think she blackmailed him, just as she tried to do to Travis. And he had a child to protect. mm sure didn't come to her defense did he? I hope this time around JM is able to stress the magazine message...showing she was again trying to make someone lie for her.

Sunny, there's a support thread "Photos" for the Jodi Arias trial, where we've been posting photos. If someone wants to post them in there, that might work. But we don't have one dedicated just for the pictures ja copied and tried to sell as her own. We could make one, I suppose. If not:

Hi SunnyinTX
I agree with you but that was not the perspective of the jury foreman.
Bill Zervakos revealed three of the mitigating factors presented by the defense that influenced his decision against the death penalty in the sentencing phase.

Interestingly, Zavakos revealed he did believe Arias suffered abuse at the hands of Alexander.
“I do believe that she was emotionally and verbally abused,”
he said, also noting the impact of the Alexander family’s pain and suffering saying, “You can’t listen to that kind of hurt, the pain, the anguish, and not be touched.”

Zervakos described a deliberations room full of tears and spinning moral compasses as each juror struggled to come to grips with their own beliefs about what factors -
including Arias' young age at the time of the killing and her lack of criminal history
-
should cause them to show mercy and spare her life.

Jury foreman: Jodi Arias shouldn't die 'for being stupid'
Wed June 12, 2013
<snipped>
Bill Zervakos was juror No. 18 during the nearly six-month trial. He says he voted against the death penalty. The jury was split 8-4 on the decision to give Jodi Arias life or death. Zervakos is the first of the four who voted for a life sentence to speak publicly about his decision.
Zervakos says there were multiple mitigating factors, including Arias' age, the fact that she had no criminal history and her "dysfunctional" family, which led him to vote the way he did
.
Most notably, as he expressed during an interview with "Good Morning America" the day after the judge declared a mistrial, he firmly believes Arias was abused.
"All of the testimony that I listened to -- and that I actually heard as well as read… I do believe he verbally and mentally abused her,"
Zervakos said
Zervakos gave more reasons why he voted against the death penalty. "You don’t put people to death for being stupid. You don’t put people to death for lying. So I had to weigh all these things."

Daryl seemed like a fragile man very easy to manipulate more so than mm.
loca, I really can't see JSS giving her anything less than LWOP. I agree about Darryl...but I also think she blackmailed him, just as she tried to do to Travis. And he had a child to protect. mm sure didn't come to her defense did he? I hope this time around JM is able to stress the magazine message...showing she was again trying to make someone lie for her.
Sunny
I agree and hope JM can use those magazines and other stuff against her. She is extremely evil! Lol I think Matt hid away and washed his hands of her.

Hi SunnyinTX

Janet

Hi Janet....I realize you are going on what he SAID were the mitigating factors that he felt was valid.....HOWEVER, it's the many other things he said that leads me to believe he was using those as an excuse...plain and simple. He couldn't admit he simply couldn't give her the DP.
Here's a couple of things I kept.....and what leads me to believe he flat out lied.
http://www.mediaite.com/tv/jodi-arias-jury-foreman-tells-gma-how-they-reached-verdict-and-then-didnt/
in this first interview he says when he first saw this YOUNG WOMAN and the brutality of the crime it was difficult to divert himself from the emotional part of it.
and how the prosecutor was with her....it was very hard...he also said, but not in this interview, that he didn't like that HE thought JM talked down to them.
he believes she was emotionally and verbally abused by Travis.....
on another interview (I didn't keep the video) he says there was a ja before June 4th and a video after June 4th. before she was a normal young woman (how did he know that? And after why would he not expect her to lie? Not expect her to try to cover it up?
He says the jury didn't know how hated she was...really??
he says the
GIRL
was crucified by public opinion but of course the jury didn't know that..
.really???
http://www.foxnews.com/us/2013/05/25/arias-trial-jury-foreman-says-death-decision-unfair-for-12-average-people-who/
IMO these are a couple of the telling statements he made and one of the reason I truly believe he would never have given her the DP
In an interview Friday, jury foreman William Zervakos provided a glimpse into the private deliberations, describing four women and eight men who struggled with the question: How heinous of a killing deserves a similar fate?
"The system we think is flawed in that sense because this was not a case of a Jeffrey Dahmer or Charles Manson," Zervakos told The Associated Press.
"It was a brutal no-win situation. ... I think that's kind of unfair," the 69-year-old added. "We're not lawyers. We can't interpret the law. We're mere mortals. And I will tell you I've never felt more mere as a mortal than I felt for the last five months."
Zervakos declined to discuss his thoughts or those of other jurors on whether Arias should have been sentenced to death or life. But he said he was torn between her two personas: a killer and an
average young woman struggling through life.
"You heard (prosecutor Juan) Martinez say she was only 27. ... She's old enough that she should have known better," Zervakos said. "I didn't look at it that way. I'm looking at 27 years of an
absolutely normal everyday young woman that was living a life that was perfectly normal.
Then something changed the trajectory of her life after meeting Travis Alexander, and it spiraled downhill from there."
I really believe he thinks Travis changed ja....makes my head spin.

Zevakos said, “She was obviously lying about things and you know what happens when you tell a lie, you have to tell another lie and another lie. The longer she was on the stand the worse it was for her in that case.“
But the foreman said he did believe her claims that Travis Alexander abused her.
"I do believe that she was emotionally and verbally abused."
Said Zevakos but offered no proof to back this up. ANd he determined this through her lies and a couple texts messages??
snipped
Zevakos recalled, “I had vowed that I wasn't going to look at her but I did and seeing her face when that verdict was read, I will remember forever."
snipped
Zevakos replied, “Yeah, I'd really like to talk to Jodi. But I'd like to ask her the questions that everybody wants to ask her. What really happened?"
