Best of 2012: Top apps for smartphones and tablets

I already use Skype, GoogleMaps, Dropbox & Instagram apps on my smartphone and/or tablet, but I found a couple here that I didn't even know about and they look fun/useful and am going to try them out. I think Pocket, Evernote and Flipboard would be interesting to check out.
