Did Deetch's article point out that the boys stood around, participated and took pictures?  The family was unwilling to prosecute because it would ruin the girl's reputation?

It would seem that horse has already left the barn.  Having her photo all over the island wasn't enough?  

I cannot understand how a parent could "let this go".  The only way to regain her reputation is to prosecute the offenders.  Or wait until they victimize somebody else and hope the next victim has more balls.  Of course, this poor girl is probably not the first victim.  Nor will she be the last.

I wouldn't let it go... it's truly sick that being raped would ruin your reputation... and it seems to be that the boys are just let to run wild.... I mean with that incident and jvds stating they had done this 20 x.... is it any wonder that Aruba blames Natalee for their problems... they think rape is normal behavior

Peaches, I agree with you...that island culture is one helluva thing...save the reputation by covering it up....just like Aruba tried unsuccessfully to save their own reputation by covering up what happened to Natalee

Maybe they think it IS OK for the men to take what they want and how they want...that machismo misogynistic attitude so prevalent in third-world cultures...While letting all of the boys run wild, they are breeding an island of rapists and killers. All of the men need to stay in Aruba and all of the women need to ship out!!!

1. They've already been proven as liars.
2. She died, no help was sought, and her body was disappeared.

This is exactly it.  No help was sought.

My explanation I am going to tell people as to what happened to Natalee is that the three suspects kidnapped, raped and murdered her.  The main suspect Joran Van der Sloot in a blind rage shot and killed her while she was trying to fight off his sexual attack in front of his friends.  Van der Sloots father came into the room and said just let her die I will take care of the rest.  This is why they will not let you find her body.

I can also add that all this happened while filming a porno video of the rape for his friend Freddy to distribute around the internet.

My friend bought his wife a scooter and then Saturday bought his a matching one so they could ride together.. So her first ride she fell down on it and scratched up the bike and her leg but its not too serious.. My friend buys these toys and then never uses them, I guess he will never learn..  www.decastri.com  You can see the scooter he bought for his wife.. She is really skinny and I think she just lost her balance going too slow and fell over and being so skinny she got all some scratches but I didn't think they looked too bad.. The rest of the weekend he kept telling me that he bought these two scooters and will never get to used them..

Anyway I didn't get to go fishing because of the scooter accident and now this weekend we might get a storm (Chris)...

I almost forgot that his daughter was roller blading and she broke her arm and was visiting too, so it was kinda interesting this weekend.. I stayed in the pool and they have this large dog Mastiff that thought I needed saving and jumped in while I was doing laps and tried to get on my back.. I then went to the bottom of the pool to get away from him and he kept swimming around waiting for me to surface so he could bite me.  I think it was thinking it was saving me but he was actually on top of me scratching me all up..  He is a Mastiff..
