I think sad to say there is a new standard for what is considered to be a "good" kid.  When you have 9 year olds committing murder, teen prostitution etc  and your son is a straight A honor student, star athlete who "parties" he probably looks like a saint compared to what your friends little devils are doing.

Well then, let me as a parent of two daughters 20 and 22.  And as a parent that has taken them both to Aruba say that:

I don't think that your parents, chaparones or you kids did anything wrong.

NOt much their just talkign on the radio talking phoen calls form the public ,,,,they do this every day like fo ran hour its like free michrophone hour where anyone can call in and voice theri opinions, which is naythign on the island....the update was of a 30 year old woman that has just commited suicide.....so dont be alert about that it had nothign to do w/ NH

Let's not demonize the parents.  their life is already ruined and so is the kid's and there have not even been formal charges yet.  They were obviously permissive, buy hey, they aren't the first to do so and they guy is almost 18.  they surely feel their failures more than anybody else and always will.  we don't even know them and we are bad mouthing them more than they deserve.  "Let he who is without sin cast the first stone."

I just think it's interesting how people are so quick to attack Nat's parents as being so horrible for letting their 18 year old go on this trip, but no one says anything about the fact that Joran's parents allow their 17 year old son to lie about his age, frequent casinos, and be out at all hours of the night on school-nights.  I know my parents would have none of it if I wanted to go to a club until 2 am knowing I had school the next day!

While all of that is true Dash, I don't think our friend Iquitos has ever cast stones at Nat's parents either.  He is just being fair.

Oh I know! I'm not criticizing Iquitos or anyone else, I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy that a lot of the media has demonstrated at some point... I don't advocate harassing anyone... I just wish that some people would acknowledge that our parents didn't do anything wrong!  People are accusing our parents of just giving us money and sending us off with a "wink and a nod" when that's not the case at all.  I saved up and paid for the trip myself.  I worked my butt off to get a full scholarship so my parents won't have to pay for college.  We work hard, study hard, and are good kids.  We experienced a lot of tragedy this year and were really looking forward to this break.  I wish people would think about what kind of effect their words have before they just agree that parents are irresponsible and students are not to be trusted.

Dash, I assure you that most of us here feel the same way that you do about this situation.  I have defended Nat's parents, friends, and chaperones from day one and will continue to do so, just as most everyone else here has.  That's why most of the trolls leave...lol.  We have all also questioned the parental supervision of the boys in custody.  But, I think we all realize that we don't have all of the facts or information and we are just vocalizing our opinions in those situations.

Fox is saying the fbi is looking into whether or not a date rape drug was used.

Good point.  I'm willing to bet they are desperate for something, anything, to hold them since the Judge has to review whatever the senior Van Der Sloot filed tomorrow.  

Also, they may be able to save face today if they can just find something in that house....so far, absolutely nothing in this investigation of 16 days now has panned out.
