texasRick:  Totally agree with you on O'Reilly.  If he's anything, it's a whore.  He'd never risk passing judgment on this victim or anyone from her group (students, chaperones, parents).  He's smart enough to know, from a public opinion POV, there may not ever be a situation as ideally suited for him to advocate on behalf of the victim.  He has tremendous power, can effect enormous pressure, and knows it.  He could only win by taking this on as one of his "crusades."  And I hope he does.

Not to beleaguer my point, but O'Reilly just doesn't care if he upsets guests or viewers.

I'm thinking (hoping!) he'll be delicate with Dash and other MB guests, but I wouldn't bet the farm on it.

While it was a different situation since it had been over a year since his father was killed and he was well out of high school, O'Reilly was incredibly out of line when interviewing Jeremy Glick, the son of a man killed on 9/11.  When Jeremy voiced his opposition to the war.  Here's the exchange:

O'Reilly: "I don't want to debate world politics with you."
Glick: "Well, why not? This is about world politics."
O'Reilly: "Because, number one, I don't care what you think."

A little while later, O'Reilly told Glick, "Shut up! Shut up!  When Jeremy tried to explain his point, O'Reilly told his engineer, "Cut his mic. I'm not going to dress you down anymore out of respect to your father."

Once the microphones and cameras were off, Glick was told by O'Reilly, "Get out of my studio before I tear you to f***ing pieces."

What an asshole!!

Correction.

The day AFTER Joran was arrested was his high school graduation, I think.

I don't think Joran would have left Aruba because he had school the next day after Natalee disappeared (holiday for us but not for them). And the next week he had final exams and then the day he was arrested was his high school graduation.

Maybe he was planning to leave after graduation (I don't know). But I don't think he had any plans to leave before then. And his mother wouldn't have left because she taught at his school and had to be there for classes and exams herself.

Don't know what school Satish went to -- whether it was the same one Joran did. And Deepak was 21. I think he was in college on the island, wasn't he? Don't know.

I am very interested in the brothers.  We hear nothing about their parents or anything.  It's like the focus is completely on Joran (rightly so, I'm sure) but we know nothing really about the brothers.

Apologize if this is old news, but here's the FNC account of the search today:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,159601,00.html

They are saying in this story that authorities tapped the three boys' cell phones and that they are checking to see if Joran has a history with GHB or other "date rape" drugs.

Now I'm leaving. I promise this time.

Last night I was going to post this link to the original June 4 A.M. Digital  article that says that the three guys said they had sex with her.  I don't think a local paper would have a problem with the translation.  But since the part about dropping her off at the HI is assumed to be false, who knows about the sex part.  It could all be lies to try to discredit Natalee's reputation, which goes along with one of the brother's reported comments about her.  I think they need to start pulling the fingernails out of the 3 lying creeps.

An Alabama radio show website has the newspaper pdf saved. This may totally blow their band width, but here goes (I emailed the link and my concerns to Tom and Red, but haven't heard back.) --

Quote
Authorities decided to comb the above mentioned area after interrogating the three young men that were last seen with Natalee. The three young men declared that the took Natalee to that area, had sex with her, and then dropped her at the Holiday Inn Resort. The security cameras of the resort however do not show her entering the hotel at any
time that evening. As a result of this the three witnesses who saw her last now become suspects.

As pointed out to Dash and others - 18 year olds are able to fight and die in wars for us, and they're old enough to make up their minds about talking to a television host about Natalee, especially if doing the program will keep the media attention on Natalee.

IMO, without the media attention, Joran would be in a casino right now and the two guards would be sitting in prison.

There is a positive effect by appearing on O'Reilly, and they are tonight's featured guests.

Note too that all of Natalee's family members have been appearing on every cable TV program as well - they know they're being used for ratings, but they also know that it's had a positive impact and pushed the investigation forward.

Dash and her friend will be fine, and they'll be spreading the word to millions and millions of viewers worldwide. I'm sure they've discussed with their parents and friends as well. In fact, I know they have...

If you think that's a bad thing, fair enough - everyone's entitled to an opinion. Let's see what happens...

I seriously doubt O'Reilly will have one negative comment to say about Natalee or any of her friends, though I'm sure he'll ask how much drinking was going on and what the role of the chaperones was - and if you've read Dash's comments here, you'll know she's intelligent enough to answer those questions which I'm sure many viewers will have. Hell, she's answered those questions here 500x.

the father of VD SLoot arrive din ARuba the TUesday (31st) they did not go anywehre apparently according to the news here

I have been trying for over a week to figure out where so many posters got the idea that Joran--and the Kalpoes, too--left the country on Tuesday 5/31.  I never saw that reported anywhere, in media or posting gossip.

Just all of a sudden, one person started saying Joran went to Holland and the K's went to Suriname.  I thought that was fishy, or a misunderstanding, because each of them is a foreign national from those countries, but no one ever reported that they had skipped Aruba.

Does anyone here have a substantial report on any of the 3 boys leaving Aruba at any time since Nat's disappearance?

It would not make sense if they left (although I have heard rumors too that they did) because Joran had school finals for 3 days.  I heard his dad was already in the Netherlands when this happened so maybe after he was released his dad figured the phones were tapped and had him fly out to the Netherlands (skipping his finals) so that he could coach him.

It does seem like the investigation is mostly centering on Joran.  The police apparently think he's the most guilty, and they (I sure hope!) know a lot more than we do about the case.

Yeah, just like me.  But the press hasn't given any attention to them either.  I know Joran looks to be the one most guilty here, but these 2 are BIG players in this no matter how it pans out.  I know it's that the "son of a justice official" makes better news, but I'm just surprised they aren't checking out the history of these two either.

It would be interesting to know the scores on his exams.  Unusually low scores might indicate that is mind was elsewhere.  Maybe on what could happen to him if he was caught.  I know there were times when I had done something somebody was going to make me regret, and that's all I could think of.

The guy is a POS 17 year old kid.  If he killed someone, that's the only thing that would be on his mind.

I take all this back if he did well.

OK.  I've been gone and have read the last 2 pages to see what's up.  Looks like our Dash is going on the O'reilly show.  Is that correct and if so, will she be with others from MB and how many?

Still feeling protective of her.

She didn't say, but MBH05 said we'd definitely know who she is.  So I assume she'll either be the only female or the only student.
