Well the IB school is not Mountain Brook...those kids are selected, even though it's a public school. Same with ASFA...ASFA is a little odd, though. I almost went there for Art...but it's just too off the wall for me.

No, it's fine. My parents sent me on a France trip last summer and told me if I wanted to go on a big trip this summer I'd have to pay for it myself. It was $1400 and I don't have a job...so I decided I didn't want to go. Also my best friends weren't going, so I figured I'd just hang out with them here for the summer.

    Yes, it would. I wonder if the police have done this. I'm actually surprised that none of the reporters seem to have asked these questions. Or perhaps they have and I just haven't seen the articles.  I do remember reading about Joran's "anger management" (what a euphemism) problems.
    If he made advances at Natalee, and she turned him down, and he flew into a rage...this is something he's probably done before.

I would not push this Alabama persecution complex too far.  There are a lot of social issues in Alabama and a lot of unbecoming history to recall.  Better we not go there.  I put up some census data on MB last night if anyboy wants to have a look go back through my messages.  P.S.  My ancestors passed through there in the 1820's-1840's on their way west.  I am more likely to go to Aruba than Alabama.

I don't think the poster meant to offend - Chapel Hill is a college town. My brother lived there for years. I wouldn't say it's more affluent or more educated than Mountain Brook -- just has more diversity.

Okay, IF what they said on the Aruba radiostation today is correct (and I know that we don't know that yet) and Joran is changing his story to match the brothers' stories, then we have him in another lie.  That is very telling to me.  It makes me wonder if they have some evidence from the phone records or computer records that support what the brothers said and they confronted Joran with that evidence so that he had no choice but to concede that the brothers did leave him with Natalee at the beach.

Geez, as hard as it is I simply MUST drag myself away and be a productive member of society today and I know that there are many more members in the same predicament.

Could y'all please start a new thread every time something real happens - a new search, new facts, new evidence, etc?  (Or at least, immediately after.)

It's almost impossible to catch up with reading all the discussion after a few hours away and this would help us tremendously.

EXCELLENT point! I have been thinking that there ought to be an APB out for any American tourists that might have encountered Joran previouslly so that we can get some type of modus operandi established, like has he tried to get girls to ride off with him somewhere etc. WHY this hasn't been done by the media here in the US, MUCH LESS law enforcement, I can't believe.
 

Come on! His picture has been in the MSM for how long now? If this were true, don't you think we'd know about it?

You may not remember but when Mickey John's pic was on TV, people did come out of the woodwork saying  (true or not?) that he had approached them. Get real.
